I didn't think of that. Good idea.I label all my nic bottles with something like "Danger 100 mg nicotine may be fatal if misused".
I may not live forever and whomever cleans out the freezer...

No, the bottle is just a glass bottle and I tested it for water tightness first. There are competing thoughts between glass for long term or the factory seal. There's probably not a huge difference, but I still have a few smaller dropper bottles I'll get through before even getting to the newer 250mil in the syrup bottle so I'm thinking leaving it sealed might have been better. It won't be opened for a long time either though, so that air in the top shouldn't hurt anything.oh. i thought you were referring to a potential problem with the syrup bottle.
is that all the way full ?
That was all there was in the bottlei topped my bottles 99.8%. except for the last one, that i am using.
I'm thinking years not months. I should ask her the bottles are made of. Since they seal the bottles (and pull the oxygen out and replace it with an inert substance, so I've read) I'd much rather leave it sealed than transfer to glass. Do you know anything about Vaperstek bottles or their process? This is the thing right here. Does it leach? When I was first buying liquid salts that was what I was researching. I know that PVC based plastics leach into what they contain for instance. Fatty foods being really bad.
I though it was LNW, but I can't find it now. It was stated that the plastic bottles used were medical grade and didn't leach except maybe under excessive heat. You'd think that any seller worth buying from would use such bottles. LNW sends their sealed bottles also sealed in a foil envelope. Here is my last 500ml bottle transferred to a clean glass syrup bottle (which I now wish I hadn't done) along with a recent liter. That's the color LNW salts always comes with. That's been in the freezer for like 6 months.

I don't know specifically, but that's what I meant above when i was saying you'd think it would be safe to assume that any reputable seller would be using bottles suitable for long term storage if they're available and not astronomically expensive. Yep hard to say although I would say that nic kept at around 0 deg is less susceptible to porosity effects than nic kept at warmer temps.while i would worry about leaching. i would also worry about porousness . while not a short term issue, 10+ years, who knows.
I"ve sent another email to Janine at Vaperstek asking about the bottles and if they do in fact seal the bottles with some kind of inert gas replacing the oxygen. I'll let you know what she says.I don't know specifically, but that's what I meant above when i was saying you'd think it would be safe to assume that any reputable seller would be using bottles suitable for long term storage if they're available and not astronomically expensive. Maybe not. I'm no expert, but competition being what it is, why would a company wishing to compete, provide low quality storage bottles when other companies are able to use good ones while selling at competitive prices? My bet is on the lady telling you the truth. Such non leaching materials are available AND she knew what you were asking about so it's something they've considered. It would also be fairly easy to prove they're lying.
It might even be the case that the plastic is less susceptible when cold too. Maybe.Yep hard to say although I would say that nic kept at around 0 deg is less susceptible to porosity effects than nic kept at warmer temps.
Even if it's just sealed, the volume of oxygen in there compared to the volume of liquid shouldn't be a problem I wouldn't think, but I'll be quite interested in the response.I"ve sent another email to Janine at Vaperstek asking about the bottles and if they do in fact seal the bottles with some kind of inert gas replacing the oxygen. I agree, and the same is true of the little amount of oxygen in a glass bottle if I transferred it. The "factory" seal just makes me more comfortable storing for years, as long as the bottles are suitable.Even if it's just sealed, the volume of oxygen in there compared to the volume of liquid shouldn't be a problem I wouldn't think, but I'll be quite interested in the response.
That's why I decided from now on to leave mine sealed until it's time to use it. It's in an airtight bag in a sealed bottle made of a material that is designed for storing chemicals. Why am I stressing over trying to find something else when I won't even open the first liter for at least a year? i hate wasting money. I don't mind it being well spent, but I cannot stand wasting it. It was bugging me that it might be damaged over time. Seems like every method has it's downsides, so I just decided to leave it alone lol.I agree, and the same is true of the little amount of oxygen in a glass bottle if I transferred it. To me it's not just about wasting money. I'm 69 years old, smoked for a long long time and have been vaping cig free since February. I don't want to go back to cigarettes. With the deeming regs, proposed excise taxes and who knows what else coming, I'd like to buy and store enough nicotine to keep DIY'ing for my foreseeable future, based on the nic calculator someone posted. Don't mean to sound dramatic, but that's what I'm considering in terms of nic storage. That's why I decided from now on to leave mine sealed until it's time to use it. oh no. That's not dramatic at all. Future proofing in the face of these big state overlords is essential. To me it's not just about wasting money. Except for some colored glass on some tanks?to me, plastic is known to degrade, leach and leak, to whatever degree. glass is known to not degrade, leach or leak, to any degree.

Which are just coated...
One reason I choose clear glass.
Maybe... I am not totally sure that all the blue colored bottles are properly done...thats diffferent
I do believe though we are technologically advanced enough to formulate plastics that will withstand degradation over time.to me, plastic is known to degrade, leach and leak, to whatever degree. glass is known to not degrade, leach or leak, to any degree.
Over reasonable time yes if not exposed to UV much.I do believe though we are technologically advanced enough to formulate plastics that will withstand degradation over time.
No UV sealed in the freezerOver reasonable time yes if not exposed to UV much.

Tell em anything to get the sale?i do agree. the thing is, are these bottles meant to be " long term shortage" bottles, or simply short term and "transportation" bottles ?
and i would not totally believe what the retailer it telling, as they "may' just be telling what is wanting to be heard.
Tell em anything to get the sale?
Yep.
That 2 yr thing sounds about right to me.Thought I'd post a follow-up to Vaperstek blue bottles and freezer storage. I've had several emails from Janine with Vaperstek and contrary to the statement above to tell them anything to get the sale, she's very honest in answering my questions. I told her what I was considering (freezer storing long term in their 120ml bottles) and she talked to "her nic guy". They recommend storage of 2 years or less, although she said she has one in her freezer that is 4 years old that is fine, but she can only guarantee 2 years. Longer than that, he recommended transfer to glass. She said they're sealing process is proprietary and couldn't tell me what they do. I can respect that.
I called her a few weeks ago and she told me the same thing. I still don't trust the plastic.Thought I'd post a follow-up to Vaperstek blue bottles and freezer storage. I, then I saw a note on the label that said to not put it in glass. Thought that was odd.
So at 60ml (2oz) that would be 32 bottles?I called her a few weeks ago and she told me the same thing. I still don't trust the plastic.
I bought 2 liters of their 100mg PG based. I transferred it all to 60ml amber glass bottles with polycone caps.
I left no airspace in them. A friend of mine said PG based nic won't expand enough to break them.
Been in the freezer at -20 and haven't cracked yet, so he must be right.
Actually i only used 30 of them. All of them are full.So at 60ml (2oz) that would be 32 bottles?
I'm trying to decide what size amber to go with. Trade offs; I suppose the smaller the better. Leaning towards 120ml. Unfortunately we sold our basement chest freezer.Actually i only used 30 of them. All of them are full.
You should better use out once opened it, because nic is easier to be oxidated, if you can not use it up on time, you'd better seal it very well and keep in cool place.Would it be ok to store 1-liter bottles of nic in the original bottles in the freezer from My Freedom Smokes? Or should I break them down into brown or blue glass bottles?
