question about the noisy cricket ii

Im using a .12 build in parallel mode. Its uncomfortably hot so I was wondering, would I be better off throwing it in regulated series and turning it all the way down to 2v?

It will make a difference in regulated mode but maybe not enough. You would be much better off with a higher ohm build, like .3 or higher.
