You ma'am are a gentlewoman and a scholar. Are 26650 batteries being phased out? I see a lot of info that even someone named mooch (no idea who he is, but I see he's a well respected battery tester... guy) has said that 26650 batteries are so often rewrapped or mislabeled or something that using a 21700 or 20700 is a better alternative. Should I get a couple of those batteries instead and just use the cap that enables the use of them or are there 26650 batteries that are perfectly fine for vaping purposes? I feel like a 26650 will last me days between charges.
Well, the Basens that I got are fine, 20A, decent batt life, and I think the iJoys are maybe even a bit better, in terms of battery life, and they might have higher CDR amperage too, which would be good for folks that use super-low resistance. They're a little more expensive, and I use high resistance (usually around 2Ω), so I just got the Basens.
To make sure you get authentic and not counterfeit batteries, just use a reputable vendor --
liionwholesale.com seems to be the favorite around here, maybe because someone from that company actually is a member here and keeps up with posts, questions, etc, but mainly just because they are truly reputable, and have excellent prices -- I love that they always include a free battery box anytime you buy 2 or more, and they also carry chargers and wraps.
illumn.com is another good one, reputable, authentic batteries, and good prices, and free batt box with any pair purchased. I think there's another, imrbatteries.com, I think is the url, but I'm not sure, I've never bought from them... and I've seen the occasional post bitching about how long it takes to get stuff from them, but it doesn't seem to be their fault, but the TX USPS -- some states just can't seem to get motivated enough to actually make the USPS work.
I don't think the 26650s are in any imminent danger of being phased out... but you never know; they *are* larger and a bit heavier, and some folks might prefer those other sizes that aren't so heavy. With the Aegis, the weight doesn't really bother me, just because it feels so comfy in the hand; it's dead solid, and with the Aegis' shockproof-ness, I know that even a total klutz like me might be able to drop a mod and not have it die.

ETA: Mooch really is a good guy, doing all this battery testing and posting of results apparently from the kindness of his heart; he's over at ECF, a/k/a Asshole Central, where he has a blog, but he also has a Facebook page, so if you don't care to tangle with fascist asshole moderators at ECF, you can look him up on FB.
I dunno if he has an acct around here, but he might, and just not visit very often -- all these idiot battery counterfeiters probably keep him pretty busy.
