I saw that and was impressed HAHA!!Long-time(since 2009) member'suddenly' posted a mini-pimp touting Joe's blog on the Deals & Steals thread at ECF yesterday. It actually lasted a little longer than I expected (more than a couple of minutes) but it got mod-quashed; gone today. It was tasty while it lasted.
Neither do I. I have never seen a ecf link (here at VU) deleted. I know it's rare but sometimes one is posted.
What's ECF?

Sorry... no.
it's far, far more active than this board. And having a larger UK/EU contingent, it's active 24/7, unlike the major slowdown here during the overnights. And their technical knowledge is certainly not second to members here. Go read the TC Wire thread.
They do get proportionately more beginners though, with that many more risky "can I do ... ?" posts.
They're more politely helpful there, whereas we tend to just bring down the boot of ridicule.
Different strokes.
There's nothing wrong with being able to type any fucking thing I want here.
Just as there's nothing wrong with being language filtered there.
Stasi style moderation on the other hand...
But don't call it "dead".
I'm not one of the haters or the huge "banned" contingent, I drifted here of my own accord (and never imagined I'd end up on staff, especially given how that's worked on the other BBSes I've been called on to mod/admin). And I'll say that ECF certainly has its place - I was there literally for years until VU came around.Sorry... no.

You've simply become an "Advanced User". Welcome to the fold Brother!
ECF is dead. Their active member count versus registered accounts hovers between 5-8% actively posting. That's a dead forum. My gaming forum that has less than 100 members is more active than ECF, proportionately. ECF is riding on the coattails of site age and Google ranking. Because they were the first major vaping forum, Google still considers ECF an authority site. However, that is slowly dwindling away. VU already outranks them in organic search, which is pretty impressive considering VU's site age.Sorry... no.

I know nothing about politico's I want to share. It is entertaining to watch how they function.Ecf = Liberals at there finest'

At one time I was a member there too, I didn't like the moderators at all. The moderators we have on the Underground are the best there is. They are what makes this forum the awesome forum that it isI'm a member of both places. I've never had problems at either. I started there, got super busy with a move, then work. When I came back I noticed a lot of the people I use to talk to had migrated here, so here I am. I've never understood the fanboy type of comments. I can like one place or thing without feeling the need to run the other place/thing down in order to make myself feel better. I think both places have a lot to offer. Reminds me of the Sega/Nintendo fanboy arguments I use to hear. We are the best, no we are, etc, etc, etc. I liked them both and thought one was better for some types of games, the other for other types of games. To me it was best to have both!
Cheers,
Steve
Hey, Steve. My story is much like your own; I was never even chastised at ECF and while I'm still a member, I've become an inadvertent non-contributor as most of my time is spent here. They are conservative at ECF, no doubt, and continue to make additions to an already convoluted rule book (see Chapter 4, Amendment B6, subsection 12a for details).
And the moderators here blend seamlessly with the community, gently nudging members who may be spiraling into impropriety. All of them are great, except @Whiskey, of course, a witch who's iron fist is driven by the power which has obviously gone to her head.
Oh, hello Mistress W. I didn't see you there. Oh, yes, I'll continue washing; just let me know when your feet are sufficiently clean. That remark above? Obviously someone hacked my VU account ... I have nothing but the deepest respect for you ... no, I don't think another flogging is necessary straighten out my attitude ....

That and I didn't have to start out in the naughty-corner with all the other bad kids.
I know that feeling. There's a similar process with the licensing I go through as an operating engineer. 2 to 4 weeks of work, reading a gigantic book cover to cover, quizzing, and falling asleep with the statutes in your hand.I just wrapped up my first foray into permit-level plumbing... code books and all. So yeah, I know what it's like to be in the naughty corner. There was a two-week span where my life felt like the comments section of a YouTube video.
go away wierdo.............just kidding.....welcome you made a good choice.I'm really new here, this forum everybody is helpful and understanding with any noob questions I have had. I don't have a local shop "close" to me, I'd have to get a ride 30-45 minutes away. I'm very thankful for this forum. There is so many things to learn and everything is explained. I choose to sign up here vs. ETC, since everybody here seems more welcoming.

they are not more active, and their technical knowldege is a thing of the past.........they are resting on laurels of long ago.Sorry... no.

I think the most eloquent and descriptive post concerning ECF I've heard. They are anal-retentive vape whores that will vape you in da ass and not even give you the courtesy of a reach around
If you want to be "beat up" you will have to hire someone to do it. We don't do that here.I used to be on ECF. Actually, I just gave up on them earlier today. The last few times I needed to learn something, it took too long to sift through the 80 gazillion contradictory posts and non-answer answers.
So is VU better? I'm really interested to find out. I used to get speedy info from brick-and-mortar vape-shop people... but two of the stores have new employees that only have knowledge up to screwing in pre-made atomizers. The third made it brutally obvious they don't want to talk to me unless I buy something.
Does this mean I just graduated from vape shops... and now have the pleasure of getting beat up here?
I posted one thread on ECF and after 2 hours, it has been deleted and my account was ban, they are so strict.Long-time(since 2009) member'suddenly' posted a mini-pimp touting Joe's blog on the Deals & Steals thread at ECF yesterday. I decided to go back to ECF. All of you convinced me to do so. Of course, I will be wandering the streets looking for action.
