Does a .3 ohm coil deplete a battery quicker than a .5?

Yes, easier for electricity to pass thru it.
No, you will get more vapor, so you push your button less.

On a Mech mod you'll draw more current, and make more clouds. You may, as suggested, press the button less. On a regulated mod set to the same wattage, the battery will see the generally same (depends on the efficiency of the mod at various loads) load. A bigger hunk of kanthal will take longer to heat up. So there are many variables. Generally on a mech you'll drain batteries quicker as the resistance goes down. Not so much on a regulated mod...
