Can any one tell me if TFA liquid ethyl maltol solution is the same thing as their cotton candy flavor.
I read that somewhere, and it sounded interesting so I went back to the mixing bench.
Both smell identical and taste extremely similar but the cotton candy is $1 more per 4 oz. bottle
Weird!

Others might be more knowledgeable but I always use EM for cotton candy when a recipe calls for it. I had both and tried it in testers and my pallet couldn't tell the difference. It got to where I have just bought the crystals and diluted my own.

TFA Cotton Candy Flavor
Water soluble.

This is made from ethyl maltol, diluted to 10% in PG

It is not a strong flavor, since ethyl maltol won't dissolve in PG at higher concentrations. It is used as a mild sweetener and smoother for harsh flavors. Our Sweetener is sweeter than the Cotton Candy.
