SMH...

"
On Thursday, two groups representing cancer researchers and specialists said the potential health hazards of e-cigarettes remain unclear, and more regulation on their use is needed.
The American Association for Cancer Research and the American Society of Clinical Oncology together issued a list of recommendations aimed at bringing e-cigarette regulations more in line with those of traditional cigarettes.
"

Well gee! We don't know what harm they MAY cause, but let's regulate the shit out of vaping! Derp!

Pretty sure this "study" wasn't biased at all, right?

"Dr. Norman Edelman, senior medical advisor for the American Lung Association, agreed that people should be cautious in drawing conclusions based on lab tests using cell cultures."

He agrees that it doesn't mean anything ...but let's regulate the shit out of it anyway!

Outside of used car salesmen, pedophiles and dog shit the only more worthless profession is an oncologist.

I don't believe nor trust any "study" that does not state where they received their funding from.

God damn it, a university in the US got $2million to do a web poll as research, meanwhile an actual doctor who's done research already had to crowd fund and collect $28,000.

Need I remind people these are the same fuckwits who advised going back to smoking if BP fails them.. cause c-cigs don't work in their view.

Isn't there an old study that was made about the effects of PG actually killing this these types of bacteria and viruses?

It was performed before the popularity of E-Cigs and vaping I believe.

Something to do with lab mice being subjected to PG vapor and a cold virus. The mice that were "Vaping" did not get the virus but the test group did get it.

And please, leave the dead children alone!

It was a study done in the 50s or 60s when pg was approved and started being used in hospitals and restaurants to purify the air, via vaporizers... If I'm not mistaken.

But these days all folks talk about is VG, not PG.

All I know for sure is before I started vaping I could not do a 30 mile bike ride without stopping a millnoin time to either catch my breath or smoke since I do 50 mile rides no problems can breath easier and feel a lot better so I really pay no attention to all the studys out there. My body tells me all I need to know

Some simple science fun. If I blow vapor in a petri dish the microscopic bacteria from my mouth is certainly going to produce bacteria in a petri dish. What is the point?

I think their study is skewed.

Yeah anyone who has worked in a sterile environment (as I have, I've worked in several labs/clean rooms) learns very early on that the reason we wear masks is not so much to protect us from the air in the room, but to prevent airborne contaminants and bacteria in our lungs from entering the clean air. I don't vape in our clean room but I'd be really interested to see what the real difference between a non-vapers breath and a vapers breath is in a controlled scenario.

Yeah, the OP article is seriously flawed. Just came across this gem:
Nearly 1.8 million children and teens in the United States had tried e-cigarettes by 2012, the study authors said in background information. Less than 2 percent of American adults had tried e-cigarettes in 2010, but by last year the number had topped 40 million, an increase of 620 percent.

Ummmm, yeah sure. According to the governments own data (http://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/data_statistics/fact_sheets/fast_facts/) there are 41 million tobacco smokers in the U.S. So, according to this study, every person that smokes has tried e-cigarettes. I call BULLSHIT! They're making shit up so the numbers look scary to sheeple.
