Not sure about as a challenge, but is there anything we can do to help get the word out for our sponsors through our winners. As much as I love winning cool stuff, I do have a bit of guilt winning but not offering much in return (though I do recommend products to friends in RL).
I know we have a products review section elsewhere on the board but maybe a thread or something in the challenge area for winners to post up their reviews and pics for others members to see. I dunno, maybe a lil "Sponsored By" thread to get the word out.
What about a challenge involving the trashtag challenge? Maybe post a setup amongst your trash bags and detail what you did and where abouts. Any thoughts?

Absolutely! There is this #trashtag challenge going around and it's actually pretty neat. Usually I hate these challenge things that pop up, but this one is actually really helpful. You're supposed to find an area near you that is trashed so to speak, somewhere that you could clean up without too much effort just to make it look nicer for anyone passing by and to clean up the earth a little bit. I was suggesting we could participate in it and post our vape setup in a place that we cleaned up or amongst any trash gathered. Hope that helps!Could you expand on this one a little dollar? not sure I follow

A game I have enjoyed elsewhere is:
First person posts a 5 word sentence. Eg, Big Toads Eat Small Flies.
From there, the next person uses the last letter of each word as first letter of each new word in a sentence (GSTLS in this case )
Not overly skilled. But funny sentences come up, and could be judged for obscure and funny.
Pleasehow about an Ass Crack challenge !
do I need to explain that
Gonna just put this out here ...would peeps be interested in these resuming without prizes or would that put you off returning?
Personally, I'd be fine without prizes. Or maybe we could figure out some other way of rewarding winners.
Like maybe a permanent or temporary "VU Challenge Winner" or "Recent VU Challenge Winner" badge.
Just spitballing. I'll keep brainstorming.
I asked about badges could be a problem, in that leadership want to maintain what they have rather than add more at this stage.
So if no badges perhaps a sort of leaderboard in the hall of heroes? We can manage the table and see where that takes us community vote on the season 2 close out winners...kind of like a fantasy league?
Good ideas, all.
It's difficult to think of challenges for vaping, isn't it?
Instead of trying to come up with challenges cold, I wonder if there's a brainstorming exercise we could do to help think of the KIND of challenges we could do.
I saw a website in a YouTube video that automatically & randomly suggests engineering projects & the like, with certain requirements. Example: "Design a chainsaw that requires 5 people to operate."
Maybe there'd be some value in developing ideas using, if not that exact process, something like it to kickstart our brains.
I'll research it & report back here if you think it's a worthwhile lead.
Ill offer a prize to one or two winners. Of course the gear will be used but always taken care of. But I'd love to see the challenges come back. Such a great time. Definitely need more than ~Don~ to answer though. LmaoGonna just put this out here ...would peeps be interested in these resuming without prizes or would that put you off returning?

Oh yea definitely. I know what you meanPerhaps we could look to do something at the end of the season rather than every challenge with big prize bucket....just thinking with everything going on at the moment prizes could be risky in more ways than one, don’t want to put people or businesses in that position really.
keen to make these about community spirit though and definitely not just going through the motions to get a prize if that makes sense? Was never about that.
Winner(s) would be chosen based on how creative their solution(s) is/are. The weirder & more thoughtful the better.
So what weird steps do YOU take to have options with you when you leave home?
they don’t always have to be about vaping could be a problem statement and how to approach and solve it like you outlined
Drat. No winning that for me. I'm too simple.
How about we try educating people that scarcity is a myth? The myth of scarcity is a very real problem in that it causes unwarranted desire & conflict to control access to any, all resources. You can look through history to see this illustrated.
We are told We need more cattle in order to have more meat for food for example. Then, in having all those cattle we "need" more land so we can give the cattle grazing space, food.
The truth is though we can grow plenty of plant based food, or forage for it, and still have surplus as preservation, other technologies have advanced agriculture. This has been true for at least the last forty, possibly fifty years, or longer.
There is a fact those who promote the myth of scarcity hide. That fact is Nature abhors a vacuum. Nature will not allow for imbalance. Granted you might rightly, correctly argue Nature though would let some starve while others did not. That is true as well.
Yet we human beings can live with Nature and still provide plenty of food to sustain our race, sustain our planet, sustain life for most if not all other creatures "in balance" with nature. We are gifted with something called wisdom. Our race is named from the Latin meaning twice wise.
And we in America do waste enough food annually to also supply everyone in Africa with enough food to live as well annually. Everyone in the world could have roughly two kilograms of prepared food per day, indefinitely at our current rate of agriculture technology. That technology keeps improving sometimes even daily. We will not out pace ourselves with population, it is not factually, Naturally allowed. This has been proved objectively True.
There is more than enough food. Imagine what else there is more than enough of in our world. See how evil profits from misery? Can we not maybe direct ourselves to educating about this? a reward? Gee, global peace maybe, the benefit and joy of all of humanity seem fine enough reward.
How do you frame that as a community challenge to complete in a relatively short timeframe?
I see a passionate statement (don’t think this is undermining that view) but I don’t see the ask, educating how?, how do people get involved and what makes them want to join in and have a bit of fun doing it?
No, I don't think you're undermining at all.
It is a rather large elephant to eat, agreed. Not quite sure of how to break it to bite sizes for easy consumption, or taint it in a way that is "fun" exactly. I think the Free Rice site quite possibly has done a rather good job of it. Granted it isn't exactly educating that the myth of scarcity is an evil lie, it does teach vocabulary though and people can enjoy the reward in getting bowls of rice through learning via tests.
As you said and I can now agree, seems a passionate statement without means to be accessible as something fun as a game for community. Sometimes I think I need to stop thinking of ideas. I am a better doer, at times, at least. Then what to do with all this junk up here? *points to brain* Let it rot me from the inside out like Bedlam did? Erm, *ahem* like the way water does when it freezes in a rock then thaws, popping the rock?
Excuse an old doffer, toddling on.

I like the after dinner vape idea. We could change it out with other ideas for with coffee, cocktails, etc.. Be an interesting ideas challenge to run each separately throughout the year.Perhaps there is a way? like a food recipe and cooking challenge to go with certain flavours of vape “food for thought” there for you if you wanted to frame something? The education part can develop as part of the challenge itself in the ingredients and sharing of ideas.
who doesn’t like a vape after a meal best part of it
I know @CrazyChef v2.0 and @f1r3b1rd would be well up for something like that ...lots of keen cooks out there in the community as well
Me either.I don't know how to make a meme
I don't know how to make a meme
Just come up with a saying, quote, joke, whatever...and a pic that goes along with it, and type the text onto the pic. There's easy ways to do that. Some pics get their point across without text.Me either.
Vape Fan, already thought of that. It was put into the idea pool way back on the first page of this topic aka Oct 1st of last year. Wow so long ago.Make a meme.
Not keen on eating elephants. They taste horrible. It is a rather large elephant to eat, agreed.
Y'all do know you don't have to wait for a "challenge" to start up a meme thread?Vape Fan, already thought of that. It was put into the idea pool way back on the first page of this topic aka Oct 1st of last year. Wow so long ago.

Roast your least favorite doctor/politician/scientist/vaping ignoramus, in the most flamboyant terms possible, using no words from the naughty list
He seems to have had way too much fun on the last post.
I'll just pay @MyMagicMist to write something up for me. He seems to have had way too much fun on the last post. I'd hate to deprive him of more fun. Plus I don't give a hoot about anyone but me so I can't write something up about anyone but me and that's too egotistical even for me.
How about a game of Vaping Skill Tactics. Some folks have been vaping for a long time when we were still figuring it all out. We could have a series of games like the Scottish Roll Challenge or Cotton Boiling Championships. These could be fast paced and show some folks things they may never have seen done, but should have or a refresher on those skills, since we may need to be using them again with all that has been going on.
I have the winning entry for the FDAWe could also have an "invent a device for the FDA" contest.

The aim of the challenge is to avoid it going round in a circle (much harder than it sounds)
I'm trying to think how we create a reverse vibrator, or reverse copulation device. So far it kind of breaks @KingPin! 's rules as I can only see it going round in circles. Damn it! I might try the Scottish Roll speed competition instead. Oh hell, it goes in circles too. Damn!I know, I'll wind up a coil the quickest. After all wire is pretty straight, oh wait, a coil. Damn!
