"Researchers used this deice in the study, hooking up one end to an e-cigarette, and the other to a petri dish with healthy cells inside."

I wonder how many millions of other things would damage 'healthy cells' in a petri dish if sprayed directly on the cells?

Water, soda, soap, spit, animal crackers, oxygen, you get the picture - 5150:)

part of the problem with all these studies is theres no standardized study protocol, hence all the off the wall results. ive seen studies where they exhaled into a condenser and tested the condensate. and studies where they exhaled straight into a gas analyzer and got wildly different results.
