After spotting what I felt was a good bundle deal online, I am now the owner of a Segelei Fuchai 213 Plus and Smok TFV8. I've used this set up less than 12 hours and I have some intense buyers remorse.
Back in 2014 I used an Innokin iTaste MVP2 along with an aspire Nautilus to help quit smoking cigarettes. I remember thinking it never really made me feel "sated" like a cigarette- but it did prevent me from becoming homicidal while I withdrew from my pack a day winston red habit. I eventually quit vaping as well because of the frustrations of locating ejuice in my rural area and because no matter how many Nautilus and coils I bought- I always ended up with leaked juice.
I recently picked up smoking again and decided I had better order new vape gear before it's too late.
I didn't realize how advanced vaping has become! I bought my newest set up and can't use it... it's too powerful maybe? The vape is so harsh it's painful. I realize the Cloud Beast and I are going to have to part ways, can someone suggest an alternative that will work with the Fuchai +?
I do need some power (not this much though) as I am a heavy chain smoker and enjoy deep draws...just not the burning crazy coughing kind I get with this Cloud Beast.
    Thanks so much!

Harshness is usually related to the juice from my experience. I have had to toss a few bottles because of this. What juice have you tried?

Right now I have only Brews Brothers by Motley Brew. I think it's 30/70 18 mg

That is too much nicotine for that setup. Try 6mg or 3mg. With subohm vaping you burn a lot more juice so you need much lower nicotine.

I will try that. But I can't even get the vapor past my mouth into my lungs as is, it's actually physically hot. I was thinking of picking up a Smok X-Baby or even another Aspire so I won't have to use so much wattage and or high temp to get the juice to move.
    Thanks!

Just get higher ohm coils for the V8 and turn the wattage down. You don't have to run it as high as it's rated.

    What coils? What settings?
You may have a coil intended for use with Temp Control without temp control set...that'll scorch...
Get some assistance - you can turn the mod "down" to whatever kind of vape you want if you know how...
I can't help - I use mechs - but it's not the gear, it's that it isn't set right for you!

I'm using the preinstalled V8-T8 Octuple Coil Head(0.15Ω), I'm using the wattage setting. I can get a very slight vapor going around 50 watts but even that's too harsh. I have also tried opening/closing the air flow, etc.
I fully admit I don't know what I'm doing with this. Sub-ohm is a new concept for me, after all I was using 1.8 with the ASPIRE in 2014. I did try to visit shops within driving distance back then- even two out of state and really never want to go into another vape shop. Clerks always did one of two things 1. Ignore me 2. Patronize me (how cute, the
little lady wants to give up her Capri Slim after dinner smoke).

That's very unfortunate, I hope those shops are no longer in business and went through a long hard bankruptcy process.
Sounds to me like you might enjoy a nice mouth to lung vape. Maybe look into getting a billet box clone to try? Just an option...

    This.

    This.
I'm just trying to get nicotine into my lungs. Clouds are nice but I need nicotine. I am not even going to pretend I don't. I enjoy the sensation of smoking, which is why I tried to vape even after weaning myself from nicotine last time. If I could find the perfect rig- that would make me so happy. When I quit vaping I gained so much weight. Vaping is a habit I'm willing to work for because I feel so much better when I do it.... even when I finally get over the nicotine withdrawel.

You don't need it in your lungs. Put it in your mouth and hold it... exhale out of your mouth and nose at the same time. It will be absorbed.

Lung hits are not required, especially at 18mg.

My guess is you'll want a different coil, and may need to fiddle with watts and airflow.
But really - you SHOULD be able to find a setting with that equipment that works. It might not be the perfect tank for your preferred style, but you CAN get it so it's not "hot and harsh".

Hopefully someone here can give you detailed info, or point to a good video or something.

Sadly, bad vape shops are not uncommon - a ton of people thought "cool, I like to vape, I'll open a shop..." but have NO BUSINESS being in business...they run out of money (never had enough to launch usually in the first place) and close.

I'm looking at a baby beast myself (I vape at 35-60 watts on any given day) ..I personally couldn't get along with the nautilus. And yeah you're right the TFV8 Cloud Beast is just hella rowdy for someone just tryna vape for nic intake. When using sub-ohm tanks and what not 6mg of nicotine is golden (for me and like you I need my nicotine) 70vg and up is nice and smooth..Best of Luck! *EDIT* I should mention I vaped 12mg before dropping down to 6mg..Might have to experiment a little to find what works for you :)

    Ok the mod is fine
just cuz it does 200+w dont mean anything
most of my mods will do 200 watts I vape at 50 watts all day
    what you need is
    1. a juice you like the flavo rof
    2. a atty that works for you
the beast is not for beginners in my opinion but wtf do I know any more
go get a nautilus if thats what your familar with
they have several different ones now
the nautilus 2 has 1.8 and .7 coils which would work
and most of the coils for the different nautilus tanks are interchangable
theres the nautilus X with 1.8 and 1.5 ohm coils

start at around 10 watts on any of those and bump the wattage up until your happy
if thats 12 watts so be it

Then once your back being a happy vaper, if you want start exploring the bajillion different coil options for that beast tank and try higher ohm ones to strat with and you can experiment with it LATER after you are a happy vaper again

That sig 2133 will hold up nicely and not need battery changed much with using a nautiilus on it at under 20 watts

I actually have a couple of the old Nautilus (the 5 ml edition) packed away somewhere, the ones that didn't leak or flood all the time.
I was eying the Clieto if I went with Aspire again.
I am open to all suggestions, because it's not breaking my heart to set aside the TV8. I like to have options.
Definately impressed with the FUCHAI+ as well. Compared to my old iTaste, the FUCHAI+ is like going from black and white television to color.
I really appreciate all the awesome advice.

For your type of vaping I'd look into the Isub line or the Tobeco ST mini....they both offer low wattage coils

Until this thread I hadn't realized I needed lower nicotine for the sub-ohm. What brands do you like?

My favorite is Loaded Glazed Donuts..I keep buying that one. No matter what I go and try I always come back to that one. Taste is really subjective but for me it's the best. I've been on my second crack at vaping and honestly haven't tried enough to really have a bunch of recommendations. But the Loaded Glazed Donuts is my favorite so far :)

Hi Mama, welcome to VU. I would try budget juices if you are looking for flavors to try without breaking your budget. Check out Tmaxx from Vapor Watch or Verde Valley Vapes (V3). Both are quality juice makers with fast shipping and great customer service. I 2nd getting a Tobeco Super Tank Mini with a .5 coil. Bring down your nic level to 6 if you are direct lung inhaling. Less harsh for sure. Good luck.

I tend to dislike fruit if it's like... skittles... or something. I don't recall ever finding a non candy fruit vape in the past- but that would be cool if I could. I also tend to gravitate towards spices and creams.

I'll let others help you with this then because I'm fruits only really. I like 1 food vape so far and it's fruity pebbles and cheesecake, That's great! I vape a lot of different blueraspberry and I read a lot of people don't like blue raspberry. Everyone's different.
There's a couple great fruit flavors that aren't candy that I know of though. Most that ive liked came from the naked 100 juice line, Amazing mango, Lava flow, the melon one I can't think of the full name.
Look on vapor Joe's for good deals and just buy stuff that's cheap and sounds really good is also an option.

Hey Moma, I was just like you 6 weeks ago, but I got lucky as my daughter brought us home Smok V8 sticks with the Big Baby Beast. The stock coil, the M2 @ 0.25, a longer and smaller diameter drip tip and a really good Tobacco flavor that was a little sweet got me off of 2 PAD of Marborol lights. Now with the Big Baby, they say it's not a mouth to lung tank, but I cut the air flow to just a tiny hole, use the .25 coils and I'm down to 6mg Nic. In the beginning I was doing 12, within 2 weeks I was completely off the coffin nails and my Nic was down to 9. 2 weeks later, 6 and I'm happy here.
What I am going to suggest might not be what others will suggest but if you have the money I would go get the stick so while you are learning how to use your awesome new mod(which your gonna love when your ready for it) you can get that Nic into your lungs. Someone else said it doesn't have to go to your lungs, but I know exactly what you are talking about. You NEED that feeling of inhaling it all the way down into your lungs.
And when your ready for a bigger, more powerful set up, you already own it!
Trust me, the Smok Stick gave me enough vapor and the big baby gave me the flavor. Good luck!

Thank you Huntress! I am glad you reminded me about the drip tip- I would like a narrower one.
I did have to LOL when someone said the nicotine doesn't need to go to my lungs. I know it doesn't need to- I want to replicate smoking for right now or I'd just buy some gum or patches.
Do you find the Smok Stil set up now you have gets hot? That's what I dislike about my new rig- I feel like molten lava is going down my throat :(

Can anyone recommend an online vendor for the Tobeco mini? I have found a couple but they seem to be sold out of coils. I'd rather buy replacements when I buy the tank to save on shipping.
Speaking of coils, what difference will I find between the .5 and .2?
    Thanks again!

They have a good quantity of coils and tanks. They also have a 20% coupon that it's the last day to use, "july20".
They're good folks, and I've done 6 orders with them, as super mini's are all I use now.

You'll like the .5, as it is not as warm, nor a juice hog. My wife uses them, and dislikes a hot vape.

I think a device like the Sourin Airl would be perfect for youe needs. https://www.myvaporstore.com/Suorin-Air-Starter-Kit-p/suo-air10.htm
You are looking for a nic delivery device with a tight cigarette type draw. These you fill with salt based nic like Mr Salty. High nicotine and good flavors. I use one now and then to sneak a vape once in a while. The salt nic can irritate your throat tho. Probably start at 25mg nic Mr Salty.

Def sounds like the Juice your using that's causing the problem. On top of it if your still smoking or just stopped no matter what you do your gonna cough for a while until you get used to it. I can highly recommend a juice in 5mg that is not harsh at all and is a flavor that most people like. Fluffy Clouds Fruitfucker is the name of it. Zebra striped bubble gum flavor. Extremely easy on the throat and the lungs. I know I hate a mean throat hit and this is my all day vape. We don't sell it but do a search. I get it from a place called ezvapes.com or the site it's made by slumberland industries. Another good one that's not to bad on the throat is Kangaroo Custard. Hope this helps !

When checking for online resellers for certain hardware, I always check vapecrawler. Most of the time it has the lowest priced vendor and some coupon codes, if free shipping, etc. It's a great resource.

definitely a GREAT POINT I didn't even think of..as someone who struggles with quitting smoking and vapes most of the time..Let's say worst case senerio, I went out and partied for a weekend (I strictly smoke in this case) when Monday rolls around and I bust out my vape it's going to be harsh AF. For the first 1/4 - 1/2 a tank..When i first started vaping (second attempt after months of smoking) it was harsh for the first 10 puffs EVERY MORNING..I eventually adjusted and it's smooth sailing from there as long as I stick to vaping :)

Nope, the Vape from the stick with the way I have it set up, it's just warm, just right. But that's only happened after I got the longer dript tipwith the smaller diameter and settled on on,y the M2 .25 coils.
I even got a Tesla Steampunk 120w TC for my birthday 2 weeks ago and my wife is using it because I just don't like box mods, she does. So I've invested in some RDAs, RDTA's and a couple of Mech mods. I like tubes, I like a somewhat cool, sometimes warm Vape, I LOVE flavored Tobaccos and I think the mechs are going to be exactly what I like.
I hope you can find your Happy Vape!

This might be a downgrade from the big box mods, but if you're still craving cigs and form factor has something to do with it, you might like a pod system. I have the Rofvape peas and love it. Very good price. But there are a lot of others. I use regular eliquid in it, but people like using these devices with nicotine salts. I've heard it's the closest thing to smoking a real cig.

Too much PG. PG is what gives you the flavor, but it's also what gives you the giant throat assaults from Satan.
