As former smokers, we did not smoke in our workplace when the ban on smoking indoors was implemented. We did not smoke inside restaurants, stores or movie theaters. There were dedicated areas or you just take a break outside to smoke your cigarette. We didn't like it, but that's the way it is.

Vaping should be the same. I know that many of us try once, twice maybe three times to vape inside to see if you can get away with it. When in reality, we should just abide by the rules that have always been. Would you have lit up a cigarette for a few puffs inside an establishment or workplace? Smoking to Vaping is so much better for our health, but there are no exceptions just because we vape. If you need to vape, take your 15 minute break from work and go outside. When you are dining out, vape in a designated area until you can get back to your car for your rig. And for you chain vapers, did you chain smoke before vaping? If so, how did you handle that?

We simply switched the method in which we receive our nicotine. Stealth vaping for example; turn the OLED off on your mod, get a decent cig-a-like or other device to carry for convenience so you can vape in public without bringing attention to oneself with a Box Mod and 25mm RDA to fog up the entire smoking patio. I truly love a good, dense vape just like you.

As for me, I vaped in a restaurant/bar once and when I was in the hospital for a week. Thank goodness I didn't have nurse Ratchet. At that time I had just begun vaping and used a disposable cartomizer kit that hardly gave off vapor. I felt cool that I got away with it, but both times didn't feel right. If you are permitted to vape in your workplace or elsewhere, koodos to you!
I'll do as I always did when I smoked cigarettes and vape when and where it is appropriate. :ejuice: :cloud:
(I'm not calling anyone out. This is just my own opinion.)

You're welcome to proceed in whatever way you're comfortable, but I refuse, quite often, to bow down to irrational rules emplaced by hysterical, irrational, puritanical morons. I don't usually vape in public places such as stores, because frankly, I don't usually feel the need. But if I do, I do sometimes stealth vape, because what they don't know, will never hurt them. It's NOT smoking, and will not hurt ANYBODY, and to be perfectly honest, I've always felt that rules are made to be broken, particularly if they are stupid rules to start with. Rossum has an excellent line in his sig, about how he will acquiesce to rules that make sense, and totally ignore those which don't, and I pretty much go along with that.

If we don't vape in public, the uninformed ignorant public will never have the opportunity to know how harmless it is, and how they're being lied to, by the nanny-fascists.

In a hospital!? For shame!!! lol

I actually find my cravings aren't like they used to be when I was a smoker. I was a 2 pad smoker. MORE if I was drinking. Now that I'm a vaper, I go through maybe 30-40 ml of juice on a normal day. Today, I went through 10ml because I was on my motorcycle all day. I vaped when we stopped but I didn't specifically stop to vape. Not so when I was a smoker. I would have stopped a bunch of times only to suck down a cancer stick and hold everyone up while I was doing it.

You have a good point though. Just because vaping doesn't stink, the smell doesn't linger as long, it's less harmful, doesn't mean others that don't vape want to be subject to second hand nic against their will.

I have a little Von Erl I always keep with me and vape it anywhere I think I can get away with it

It's not exposing anybody to anything. Vaped it in hospitals, airports, doctors offices, state buildings including court houses, DMV - you name it. I sat in a single stall bathroom at the airport in Juneau and vaped my head off for 45 minutes last June

Sue me :giggle: Hell, give me a fucking ticket - if you can catch me

Yeah, the entire 3 days my mom was dying in the ICU, I vaped in the bathroom. No one ever knew... though I did overhear a few comments about the great-smelling air freshener. :giggle: And really, air freshener is what it is -- mine is mostly (86-87%) PG, which is the main ingredient in all air fresheners. Yeah, there's some nicotine... 3mg. :giggle: Never going to hurt ANYBODY.

I also vape any place I can get away with it. Vaping is not smoking and should not be treated the same way.

I vape inside as it would be a damn pain to go outside every two minutes, and as for vaping in public just be respectful & don't blow massive clouds in people's faces.
Vaping is different to smoking so they shouldn't be the same rules put in place by the "big man upstairs". I will continue to disregard rules I don't agree with cos let's face it there's far too many rules in life.
I don't think vaping is gonna harm people like cigarettes do.

You are going to find three types of people in this thread:

    1) The "I do not vape where I would not have smoked at when I was a smoker" crowd

    2) The "I vape indoors when it's inconvenient to go outside but I stealth vape" crowd

    3) The "I don't give a fuck, I'll blow clouds on kids in the toy section of Wall Mart" crowd

    I tend to be between a 1 & 2

Hate to say I'm #2 - :poop: - but guess it is so, lol

While I'm more of a tootle puffer, my ADV are cloudy enough and as a hater of public smells (yeah, I hate BO as much as cologne, aftershave and perfume) won't go around leaving big :cloud: or impose Cinnamon Churros aroma on others, even if I enjoy the aroma just fine

On that scale of one to three, I am a 1.2 - 1.3. When I vaped in the restaurant. One woman said to the other, "Is that new perfume? It smells nice".

I was comparing vaping vs. smoking since it does contain nicotine in the eyes of the FDA, BT and Pharma. The nicotine is more related to my reasoning than anything. The ignorant public who smoke or don't smoke will say it isn't fair. A 'plume', no matter now much will be their argument. A vaping friend got me thinking about this.

I'm all for vaping in public - absolutely! But as @5150sick mentioned, there really are those three classes as generalized examples; quite well! Thank you for breaking that down, Sick. I don't hear any of you comparing vaping to lighting up a "stinky cigarette" in a place we know they are not permitted. WE know vaping is 'healthier'. We have been blessed with technology that allows us to vape instead of smoke as part of a healthy lifestyle. It doesn't give us any rationale NOT to conform to the laws laid down for cigarette smokers. I can see us vapers taking a toodle from a Von Erl in a bathroom stall. The vapor is minimal and we get our nic fix. Using a cig-a-like stealthly in the back of a store I can see too. But I'm more concerned with our usual tap off of a mod with a .15 build on it. I'm talking about vaping inside public venues. Outside we can do whatever the hell we want!!! Until I see a "No Nicotine" sign or "No Vaping" sign, I will vape, discretely. A waitress told me I couldn't do that. I told her I didn't see a sign.

Big Tobacco is losing millions, so they sway the FDA and Pharma jumps on the money bandwagon. The excuse about children is scapegoating which is bullshit. 80% of us remember stealing cigs from our parents like I did at age 11. Young kids today still have legal teens buying them cigarettes. All you need is a match and you're smoking. Vaping has too many variables. Education of Ohms Law and battery safety, hardware, building, eliquid, DIY, cloud comps. See where I'm going with this?

We vapers could possibly set an example to the big 3 involved in this vaping nightmare to show responsibility. It could lean in our favor instead of telling them, "IN 'YO FACE!" before the clock strikes twelve. Then again, they may not care. But to me, why add more fuel to the fire.
(Again, this is just my logic.)

I am not on a soap box. And in NO way am I pushing my personal philosophy on anyone. I thought we could discuss something we all feel passionate about and/or discuss the anger or uncertainty.

Jeezz! I hate when I respond in a long post. :tldr:

    OK, my turn.

Like the Cat In The Hat, I vape here, there and everywhere.

Kinda sorta have a knack for stealth vaping.

I also vape at lower wattages with a 50/50 mix.

I also hold my vape in until when I exhale, nothing comes out.

Since I started vaping, I have been in the hospital for surgery three times.

Said visits ranging from 24 hours to 10 days.

Each time (in two different hospitals) I brought every thing I needed.

Mod's, Tanks, coils, and charger as well as E-Liquids and Batteries.

As well as an AM/FM radio so this old fart can listen to local talk radio as well as NPR

Truth be told, the nurses even helped me out by installing the power strip I brought with me to charge my batteries!

NOT EVEN ONE SINGLE COMPLAINT EVEN FROM MY DOCTORS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My fellow vapers, it all comes down to mind over matter.

If you try to behave, if no one minds, it really does not matter!

I'm lucky, I can vape at work. I don't feel the need to vape in stores. If I've got someone in the car with that doesn't smoke/vape I crack the window. If in their car, I ask if they mind. If at restaurant/bar I sneak a vape in restroom/go outside. I pretty much do what I did when I smoked.

So according to sick, I range anywhere from 1 - 2.5

I was vaping a mech squonk with my single coil @ .15 ohms in wal mart today. I held it if people were around but if I was in an isle out of direct eyesight, :cloud: I didn't vape at all in the checkout line even though that's when I wanted to the most.

I would have liked to blow a cloud or two directly into the face of the checkout kid. Today was a great example of why I let my wife do all the shopping while I stay at home. It really is a public safety issue lol.

Word to the wise, if you are buying alcohol, choose a line with someone that looks old enough to actually sell/consume it. It'll save you a lot of frustration and awkward conversation with the homosexual 19yo kid with the nose ring that needs to shave his neck beard and stop dying his hair stupid colors. Or in my case, ignoring him completely whilst my wife engaged in said awkward conversation. I wanted to strangle him when he said "It's not what you drink. It's how you think." I thought to myself, "That's it, you're fuckin' dead."

Holy Moly! What a day you had. You sound like me when I'm pissed off, especially by a ("you don't get it, do you punk?) kid. I would have actually taken out my rig and blow the biggest, blinding :cloud: and hightailed it out of there. The greeters at Walmart are typically older seniors and wouldn't know what was going on. I'm sure THAT would have made your day!

I can understand both sides of the argument but I don't agree with either. For me personally, I can vape at work due to the fact that its my own business, and while I have employees, my office is my private space. Nobody walks in there and of course I am not holding meetings in there, but if I do, I don't vape because in my opinion it looks unprofessional, but that was the same as I was still smoking. I wouldn't light a cigarette during meetings lol.

When in public I do the same as I did while smoking, I even caught myself walking 20feet away from the door at the airport, when picking up my mom. Nobody told me too, but its just that habit.

My husband on the other hand don't give a flying f. And we do argue about it sometimes because I don't think, no matter to which crowd you might count yourself, nobody has the right to any entitlement in this case. But this is my personal opinion, I wouldn't go and lecture ppl on the street or in stores, nor complain about it. If they wanna vape next to me and I don't like it, great I step a bit to the left. If they want to go outside, great I won't stop nobody. At the end, ppl should be allowed to do whatever they want, not one side trying to get more rights than the other, or forcing their opinion down someone's throat. It shouldn't even be regulated, sometimes I wish ppl would just use common sense.

Being stuck in line with a vaper who uses rank juice is as unpleasant as being stuck with someone who bathes in cologne. I don't always take the high road, but I make an effort in closed public places.

At an Extended Care Facility for Family Day yesterday I went to a very isolated spot where no one was at the time to vape on the sly. I was approached by the Director who very nicely said vaping is not allowed the same as smoking and she said it wasn't so much the fact I was vaping but the residents are not allowed so if they saw me it wasn't fair to them. Some are X Smokers who would like to use e-Cigarettes but are prohibited. For the rest of the afternoon I went outside to the smoking area.

I was stealth vaping on a plane last year (holding in the vape until there was nothing that came out). End of the flight I was stopped by one or two very serious looking men who were obviously security people on the plane, they quite sternly said this is Not OK, and, adding insult to embarrassment, on the next leg of the flight - nine hours back to the states - they said 'No alcohol for you'. The alcohol really helps make those long flights manageable... ugh... so, no more vaping on airplanes no matter what.

Taking a serious risk doing that! Just a little except from FindLaw

    Typical Penalties for Vaping In-Flight

Simply using an e-cigarette or other vaporizer (or regular cigarette) can end up getting a person arrested and fined tens of thousands of dollars. If a flight is diverted and forced to make a landing because of your actions, which could happen if clouds of apple-pie scented vapor start billowing out of the bathroom, you could be facing serious legal consequences, including imprisonment. It's yet to be seen what will happen to this man, whose e-cig exploded while he was vaping in-flight.

In a closed public place, I just simply hold the smoke in until nothing visible comes out. Even my wife, who is fanatically against any kind of smoke, normally doesn't mind if I do this say in a restaurant. It's not the intake, it's of course the exhaling that bothers people, and if nothing comes out, if you wait for it to be absorbed.... However, there is a limit to boldness, and the rights of others and the law take precedence and I don't like doing anything that personally benefits me but annoys others, even slightly, you are very correct in what you say.

I'll definitely watch that when I had time. Someone had a go at me for vaping the other day and I told them to back off. I mean I hadn't blown vapor anywhere near him an the hypocrite was smoking a cigarette! How cheeky can you get!

I had a smoker ask me recently, "Are you going to have to continue vaping for a long time?" It was said in a manner that suggested he thought that it would be a problem. I said to him, "Probably. Are you going to continue smoking until it kills you?" I asked. He didn't say anything. I work with the moron.

I had a Dentist who was an old customer of mine walk by today as he was handing out flyers for the upcoming election. I was detailing my truck and he thought I was smoking weed and I explained to him I was just vaping. It was pretty funny how he reacted at first because even after I said I was vaping he thought I was doing CBD or whatever and I had to explain it was only Nicotine, VG and PG. Nothing more! We did have some laughs though.

I get that kind of stupid shit a lot. "So when are you going to quit THAT?" they'll ask, as if it's some foregone conclusion that I'm eventually going to live on nothing but bread and water in a closet or something. I just shrug and say "Maybe never, why should I?" "Well it can't be GOOD for you!" they remonstrate. I reply "95% better than smoking, which i was prepared to do until it killed me, so what's the difficulty?" They have no idea what to say to that. :D

My sister has a high paying job. When she takes a break she goes to the round cement tables to vape. She's found that two of the associates beneath her vape. Comfort factor. Another wants to quit smoking. She's quite the advocate since "I" am her source of hardware. She's been vaping longer than I have and is such a Pollyanna about it and deeming regs still. She's frugally purchased 3 rigs from me and 2 for her son. Needless to say, her friend switched to vaping and I made a few bucks. She'll take her new tootle puffer, her new Kanger SubVod from me, in where she can vape discretely. The old one she had was a G2 which is now collecting dust. God forbid if she ever got caught. The whole world would know about it in 30 minutes.

I'm a 2.5. I have no reservations about stealth vaping just about anywhere, but nobody around me has any clue I'm vaping. I don't use powerful or flashy hardware & avoid highly-flavored (fragrant) flavors in public. No clouds, no aroma, no problem.

I'll have to add some nic to my vg. No flavor no problem. But ohhh, will I miss the flavor.
