Wicking question for side air flow rda's

Quick question for side air flow atties (like the goon, etc). Is it better to "cover" the whole base/juice well with cotton, or to leave a gap under the coils like you would a bottom air flow setup? On my goon, I adjust the coils to where you can see the bottom half through the slots so when I vape, the air hits the bottom and side of the coil. I've been leaving the well right under my coils open, but wondering if it makes a difference one way or another?

Try it and see. However you like it is the better way. :)

I tend to wick all around Including under the coil but still leave a gap under coil to allow Airflow to travel under and around coils before being draw up and out,
There's many YouTube wicking videos about ,
