Tesla steampunk mechmod killing coils

I typically use a tobeco velocity mini or a Steam Angel dark horse and they work great on this mod. Reading around I saw a lot of people talking about using 0.5ohm subtank atomizers. I put my playboy vixen on with a. 0.1 ni200 and then a 0.5 kanthol and it instantly fried the coils. The battery in the mod was about a gazillion degrees. I then put my aspire mega on the mod. Worked like a charm. It has a 0.3 coil. Can someone tell me why it killed 2 playboy coils? I'm using a 3000mah 3.7 efest battery. Doesn't make sense. I've only been vaping about 3 months. Help?

what type of batteries are you using?
Those tanks don't play well with a Mech mod , I will move this to Mech area so others will see and chime in.

Not a mech user myself but read a lot about how that attys you use need to have an adjustable 510 connector or you could get a short. Pretty sure thats what happened. the mech gurus would be able to help you more. Just wouldn't try that anymore. Read up on the posts here they will be able to help you, That could have been very catastrophic.

Ni 200 will fry on a mech - they are meant for TC not mechs. The .5 should have worked ... that is not a lot of watts. Must have been a faulty connection. I know the steampunk is a 510 threaded device but obviously there is an issue with that tank on it.

Paul, I thought I had my 0.5 ceramic in that tank, I would've never intentionally put a nic on there
