My first attempt will be HIC's Double Caramel Cappuccino, for my girl. Her ADV is AltCig's Caramel Capp (which I think sucks) so I want to get her onboard with my DIY'ing first. There's a method to my madness ;)

LOL I understand. I used to go through the whole explanation of, "it still costs less than if I were still smoking!!" Shuts 'em up every time.

Well, she's not a "tinkerer." She still uses a Protank 2 and buys juice, it's easy & works for her. She watches me building coils on my Kayfuns and is like "eff that!" lol... but when if she likes the flavor and sees the cost savings... RELEASE THE HOUNDS!! :D

I'm looking to do a really nice smooth slightly sweet bourbon flavor. If you've ever tried Eagle Rare bourbon, exactly the flavor I want. Smooth, subtle sweetness, with a super faint hint of almond. Anyone have any recipe ideas?

TFA KY Bourbon and FA Almond? If you wanted extra sweetness, you could try Marzipan instead of Almond. I find both sweet, but Marzipan a bit more so. If it's a toasted almond you're after, TFA Toased Almond.

I was long past the protanks and into kayfuns and just starting the subtanks and my wife still vaped the protank2's but with rebuilt heads. I finally made up a RBA subtank with her juice then she finally got past those protanks also. I got lucky and made a juice she liked so she stop buying juice that was 25 bucks USD for 100mls(25cents/ml) down to less than 10cents a mil for DIY. She bogarts 50mls a week with her subtank and 1.6ohm build and I vape way more than she does with my low ohm builds. Taking the DIY path in my vape journey was well worth it in every aspect.

I'm sure that if I did a build for her on a Kayfun or something similar, she'd like it, but she'd have to rely on me for rewicking or coil changes which she doesn't want, she likes the convenience of popping in a new prebuilt coil when she needs. The coils for Protank 2's are cheap now anyway. But if I can make some flavors she likes, I can drastically reduce the monthly juice bill.

I'm going to try the TFA Kentucky Bourbon, and touches of Almond, Caramel, and maybe cream to smoothen out the bourbon. I don't want to sweeten it, per se, just a slight touch to make it nice & smooth. But I'm going to see what the bourbon is like on it's own first.

To me, it seemed really strong, BUT most people use it at about 5%. I had to use it wayyyy less, LOL. The Almond and Caramel may smooth it out for you, too.

My wife hasn't touched a wick or wire in the 3 years we've been vaping, all she has to do is fill her atty and tell me that she thinks her coil is burnt. I don't mind since I learned loooooong time ago that happy wife is happy life so 5 minutes to recoil and wick a subtank for her is no biggie. I don't know how she does it but she vapes only 1 flavor and that was cotton candy from JuiceMafia and I faithfully bought from them for almost 2 years while I scoured the internet for good cheap juice and failed most of the time. The last year of DIY has been the best vaping we've done with a couple failures in getting a juice she likes but after some research, trial and error, help from forum members I came up with a 4.5% HS Desert Ship 1% Sig Circus Cotton Candy mix she liked so since I have knocked the CC down to 3/4% she is a happy vaper. I make her juice 200mls at a time, have 50ml jugs ready for her to grab when needed and 200mls more steeping so when its the last jug, there is juice steeped 3 weeks to a month ready to cut into jugs then I repeat the process.
I vape 90% tobacco vapes with no sweeteners so my vape time is spent concocting tobacco blends and having a mighty tasty time doing it. Every so often I will revisit a commercial juice I have in the closet to remind myself to why I started making my own juices.

It never ends, and when you have a good size inventory of flavors built up you will find a recipe that looks delish and guess what? One flavor short... Even @Teresa P, with her massive inventory, has that happen to her! Just build up a list of refills of staples and want to haves until you have enough for free shipping...

I started diy not too long ago and havent turned back since.
I still only have a little under 5k ml under my belt but it gets better n better as you expand your flavor index.
