They have killer deals on flavoring, that's for sure. And shipping is top notch.

So whats the verdict on Nonna Cake, a must have taste treat?
It's really good, zillions of recipe possibilities. But my taste buds say it's FA's version of TFA red velvet cake. Yours may tell you something different.

Could someone please tell me what the hell a "nonna" cake is? I see a lot of blabber about it, and have no clue what the fuss is about.

I just got the e-mail for it and just received a shipment from them on Saturday. :( I'm so bummed I have to wait till next month to pick it up. I did have some extra money set aside because I knew it was coming out soon, but like clockwork somethings came up. My block head of a dog got sick, and my wife ran out of Xbox live. Lol any who I can't wait to pick it up on my next order. So stoked!!

I guess there's as many recipes as there are Italian Grandmothers. Here's one..

EWWWWWW... pine nuts??? GROSS!!!! I'd also never put EV olive oil into something sweet; it just doesn't "go." I also never called my grandmother "nonna" or "grandma," she'd have slapped me. :D I called her Grandmother! :)

Think I'll have to give "nonna cake" a miss.

I saw the Nonna Cake this morning while filling holes on my list. I figured I'd give it a go.

To me, Nonna cake is Italian Cheeescake. The primary filling ingredient is ricotta cheese.

I haven't had real nonna cake for many years. There were a bunch of Italian grandmothers in the neighborhood where I grew up. I've always found the ricotta filling too dry and not sweet enough for my liking and even found the frozen Sara Lee cheesecake more preferable. YMMV

Nowadays adding quality pine nuts is for rich grandmas. I was just at the store and found them "on sale" Only $27.00 a pound for the Spanish ones and $16.00 for the Chinese ones. They used to be a whole lot cheaper before pesto sauce became popular in the U.S.

BTW Like fresh Mozzerella, my favorite ricotta is derived from Water Buffalo milk.

Is FW's Bacon any good?

Is FW's Bacon any good?

I would think most folks would not find it too good. I get a mild bacon flavor (similar to Oscar Mayer bacon) on the inhale and charcoal flavor on the exhale. I like it better than the (reported to be discontinued this month) Cap bacon. While I have not tried it, the few reports I've read on TPA Bacon cause me not to order it.

I guess I could then say that the FW Bacon is the best bacon I've ever tried. :)

I'll admit from time to time, when I get burning love for one Elvis variation; I will add some mixed stand alone in a tank with the banana/PB juice. (Please! Don't be Cruel! :D)

I'm gonna have to give it a shot, I've been interested in it for awhile; but haven't read too many glowing reviews about any bacon flavours, but who knows; maybe I'll love it!

Hahaha, is the Elvis Special any good? I may have to try that as well!

Can Elvis be wrong? :)

I use INW Banana and have tried Cap PB, INW Salted Peanuts and a combo of both with the banana. My preference is just the INW Salted Peanuts. YMMV
