What gauge wire? Looks lile maybe 24? What resistance did you end up with? What inside diameter did you wrap around?
Spaced coils like that are fine, but try to get the spacing even and put your bit, mandrel, or screwdriver you wrapped on back in then tilt the ends to straighten them up a bit. Make them as level as possible. Start with them centered between the post holes and adjust from there if needed.

It does heat up from the center evenly on both sides and cools down evenly.
I just built this one instead 24 g kenthal double wire 8 wrap! Heats up more evenly then the single wire and got the resistance down to 0.17 ohms! What do you guys think?!
