running multiple setups

just wondering if you guys run multiple setups. at this point i am using a wismec press tc 75 and magnus tank. since i travel frequently and am on the road having something small and discreet that i can place in my pocket is ideal.

as of late i have been thinking of getting a second unit just for the house something that is bigger so that i could run more heat and a better tank. something along the lines of Reuleaux RX 200 and a smok TVF4.

curious to know if anyone else runs multiple setups and is the investment of money for my second consideration worth it?

yes, I have enough mods and attys to open a shop.
I always have one mod in use and one back up on me. I also keep a subtank and spare coils in my truck in the event that I have a build issue. Additionally I keep a mech at the office and at times will substitute that for a backup.
But, you'll find a lot of us with multiple devices. need to update this spicture

You should ALWAYS have more than one -- you should have backups for your backups' backups.

These are my 2 today; I also have a red one just like the pink one, and about to also have a black one just like the blue one:

that was in my rotation today with a Clapton single coil build in it.

its a great kit, for an all in one purpose kit. great flavor, can be a great cloud producer or run mtl .

If not at home, I typically have a TC (usually SS on the eVic VTC Mini), a VW (eVic VT with maybe a cCELL coil) and at least one tube (eGo or iJust2 are common pocket fare). I keep a little extra juice and spare coils in the car.

Smoking was definitely easier. But this is more satisfying.

wow ok so there are some serious backups to your daily's.

anyone have any knowledge of the smok TVF4 and how it vapes?
I have 5 regulated mods, and numerous mech mods, not to mention the RDAs. :)
My collection does include the Reuleaux RX200, and the TFV4. The RX200 is excellent, especially with the upgraded firmware (easy to do). The TFV4, I'm currently using with the TF-STC2 coil heads, on my RX200, in TC SS316L mode. The only con of the TFV4, IMO, is the top fill. If you do want to carry it around, you have to use the silicone ring that comes with it, in order to avoid accidentally opening the fill port, thus spilling the liquid. Otherwise, with all the replacement coil and RBA options available, it's a pretty good tank.

Right now Ive got 4 set ups, all get used for one purpose or another. People in my family think Im crazy and going way overboard for having so many and 2 more on the way, but really each has its purpose. Have one set up for the night stand vape for keeping next to the bed at night, another for hanging around the house, another for my work horse/daily carry/work set up, and another that I take with me when Im going out somewhere and I want something that looks really nice.

Got 2 more set ups coming in the mail that I got dirt cheap, and theyll find their purpose (one is a subvod kit, so thatll be nice for summer time when I dont want my pocket weighed down and bulging from a big box mod).

thanks for the heads up on the top fill issue Nuernaball. Good to know since i have never had a top fill tank. Coils and RBA options are pretty cool. I would really need to learn about RBA since I have never done them but the shop close to me is pretty cool about that kind of stuff.

Looks like this might be my next unit.

Now that right there is some prime sig material. :):):)

I have several at hand right now. It would be more, but I'm unpacking some new mods and RBAs and also need to rewick a couple of RTAs and get them back in the rotation.
Three or four setup at once would be about the norm for me.

Out and about... I bring two. Always.
Like Andria says... have backups to backup the backups. :D

"Switch to vaping... it'll be cheaper."

It's interesting how sky's the limit with this hobby. I use the term hobby because that's what it is to me.

Yes i am an ex smoker. Was smoking for about 20 years. But I quit smoking years before I started vaping. I have only been vaping for about two years and the reason for this was get away from the urge to smoke hookahs.

Since hookah I really started to enjoy the flavour aspect and wanted to get away from that because it's my belief that it's more carcinogenic than vaping. Now it's all about the vape for me.

It's LOADS cheaper -- since I quit buying coffin nails, we've gotten an ADT security system, my husband has resumed his coin collecting hobby, we have money at the end of every pay period, and I pretty much buy whatever vape stuff i want. Tuesday is payday, and today I ordered 2 new flavors... because I'd been wanting them, and we have sufficient in the bank that we'll be just fine till Tuesday. Before I quit smoking, we were broke as dirt for at least 5-6 days before every payday.

Seems @raymo2u is extremely knowledgeable about big air rta's. Not sure if he messes with coil head tanks, but if he does I'd want to hear what he had to say about any device like that I was considering. Also, you won't regret getting extra devices.

I dont really dabble in premade coils but I have had my fair share...TFV4 was one of my Favorite Tanks up until I got the griffin RTA and I really havent gone back to it since I do like my own builds. You wont regret getting the Tank and with the RBA included you can also start building if you decide to. It puts out great flavor and has adequate airflow and is reasonably priced..Get the Fullsized version as it does suck up some juice and you will be refilling very often with the Mini version.
I myself have quite a library of mods, actually the last month or so Ive accumulated more mods then most will their entire lifetime...I have a few more mods that will be arriving over the course of the following week but here's some of the collection..
Here's some of the Toys:

I also own all the TFV4's and TFV4 RBA's and its a great Subtank to build on as the deck is larger then most other Subtanks...

Coil porn.
Not my proudest fap.

:p:p:p
Was only trying to convey its a good enough tank that I bought all three RBA's for it, and what better way to prove that then posting a build on all three ;)

LOL... I like seeing exotic builds, though I'll never roll anything like them.

Hey... what's that wide, red, center 510 iStick lookin' mod left of the i30 & i50?

I've got the res hacked on this Lenovo convertible but the image displays extra squat and I can't zoom in. Just curious.

Well Im glad its cheaper for you, but smoking was WAY cheaper for me lol. Just look at my sig. It says Ive saved about $130 since I officially quit smoking, but Ive spent that more than that just this past week on vape stuff lmao. I guess if you dont fall into the hobby side of it, it absolutely can be cheaper. Spend $100 initially on a half decent set up and a couple bottles of juice and thats good for a month, then maybe $30 a month on juice after to get by, you could get out ahead. But...

If you wanna build coils, have mods on top of mods, have tanks and rdas for every day of the week, and be able to not vape the same juice twice in a month, your gonna have to pay lol. Im totally fine with that. The last hobby I feel deep into was guitars, and lemme tell you, THATS an expensive hobby.

Yes, the first 6 months, it's not that much cheaper, because so much hardware investing needs to be done -- just figuring out what you like best! But since I finally settled on my 2 Achilles and 2 Magmas, and a handful of mods, it's really not costly at all. I always try to find mods at really good prices, so the replacement I need to get for the kbox mini I dropped and broke will be a $19.99 iPV Mini -- cheaper than the kbox mini was!

Now that I have the hardware I like, all I really need to buy are flavors for DIY; got 2L of nic in the freezer, and I might even try to pick up another one, and of course at some point I'll need more PG/VG, and syringes... but that stuff is dirt cheap.

Once you get the "infrastructure", then the running costs are extremely minimal.

The biggest money saver is making your own juice; retail, it's got about a 200%-1000% markup, compared to what the actual ingredients cost. Yes, there's a bit of learning curve, but it's inexpensive to get started, and start learning; once you have a few you really really like, no need whatever to spend that $30 or whatever a week -- then it's more like $20 a MONTH.

I go along with whoever said, if you can cook ANYTHING AT ALL, you can make your own juice. It's not hard to mix flavors and nic into PG/VG; you just have to learn what flavors in what brands suit you best, and the best way to mix them together.

If its affordable for you sure why not. I was using a RX 200 exclusively for about a month or so but miss the size of my sigelei mini 30w but of course I need more now. So I picked up a sigelei spark 90w and love it . fires down low and is very small. Smaller then the vtc mini. You will get tired of lugging the RX around. So a smaller "mobile" mod is needed.

What I do to keep it less expensive than smoking is to fight off the shinyitis. I won't let myself buy every tank and dripper that comes out weekly. I wait until there is a true game changing improvement before I upgrade. For example, my steps forward in RTA performance went as follows: Kayfun v4, Chthulu v1, Bellus, Tfv4, VCMT. now I have my eye on the Boreas, but I'm holding out. I'm curious about Raymo's new tank. My money always goes to the next game changing step up. I can't afford every tank that comes out, with each one being only slightly better than the one before...

Sorry, I got a little off topic. Yes, I always carry multiple setups wherever I go. My co-workers and wife think I am crazy and obsessed, but it makes sense. I carry 2 tanks daily, one for flavor (usually Silverplay V2 or Bellus) and the other for suddenly changing the weather ( VCMT or Tfv4). Plus a tube mech and RDA (for backup, sampling a friend's juice flavor or just a simple break in between what I have loaded on my tanks.

By the way if you are on the fence about the TFV4, buy it. I never had any problems and it is the most versatile tank I have ever come across...

Thanks Catalyst! Just got the griffin with the Rx 200. But I do like the idea of a drop in coils for the TVF4.

Just curious did you get the kit with the rebuild able coils? And if so how easy is building?

It's a pretty good tank. It's my first attempt at working with a RTA. I'm still learning how to get this bad boy to sing. I think the tank in the right hands would be amazing.

I have had some minor issues. Things like leaks and wicking. But for a noob it seems par for the course. I watched a good clip where the person gave a tip about top filling. Basically you have to have juice hole closed and air flow closed when you top fill to avoid leaks. After that the issue was solved.

As for coils and wicking, well I'm just not quite there in terms of skill set. I think this is just something I will get better at with time. Hopefully lol

To carry with me away from home I have an evic vtc mini with a cubis tank because it doesn't leak. For at home I have an rx 200 with a horizontech krixus tank. The cubis tank I run ss heads on power mode and the krixus is a ceramic head that runs in power mode. Both tanks are great for their own reasons, cubis doesn't leak as said before and the krixus has awesome flavor but does leak sometimes. My goto vape guy says that the krixus will not generally but I haven't had it long enough to totally figure out yet.

Sorry for the late reply, I'm not on here every day...
As for the TFV4, I bought the full size kit that came with the tri and quad factory coils, and the single coil rba head. I picked up the dual coil rba seperately. I now run the dual coil rba exclusively. I would give it a 5 on a scale of 1 to 10 as far as building/wicking ease. Wicking can be finicky, and there are some size constraints. I'm also curious about the fairly new tri coil rebuildable head, but from what I have heard, it is a PITA to build on. I have yet to try the new quad and octo "beast" factory coils as well. But overall I love the versatility of the tank. Seems it can be fine tuned for any vaping style. I use it exclusively as a rebuildable, except when I go on vacation, I buy a pack of factory coils. For the convenience. I'd rather spend more time in the sand than rebuilding @ the hotel room...

Makes complete sense on buying coils on vacation.

I might actually get this tank just for the great stuff I have heard. The griffin has been running pretty good but I might be fun to just try something new

there are so many different styles of devices it only makes sense to have a couple different setups, even if you dont intend to be a hobbyist or collector. i have a work setup, because everything i take to work gets beat up really fast and looks like hell. i have a classy setup thats small and clean and only comes out when i have to look classy, and i have a small mech tube for quick trips/backup/stealthmode.

my work box (cuboid) is pretty much my daily driver and i have a few different rdas and tanks for it depending on what i feel like. i love chucking a big cloud every once in a while, but i normally prefer flavor and a more subtle personal weather system. there are many things to consider, and its hard/impossible to get a good setup that covers all bases (for me anyway). i also totally lack self control and this whole post might just be me trying to justify to myself why i keep buying more of these fucking things ;)
