So last Thursday I officially started DIY. I had posted the recipe for the Cherry Cola (the second recipe I made that day) in order to get tips/feedback on maybe adding some cream, but I wanted to post this one because it was SO good! And this was the FIRST one I did. I got it off the Krtikal Mass recipe site, posted by Arnie (thank you, Arnie). I vaped a tank that day (as good as anything I ever bought), but let the rest sit to see how it reacts. I tried it again this morning & all I can say is wow! If it's still as good by this Thursday I'm going to make up another 90 ml.

As always, I want to thank everyone here who put up with my questions & what not. I appreciate all the advice & count on much more.

Here's what I did:
Start with PG/VG/Nic base of your choice.

  • 5% Yellow Cake (FW)
  • 5% Vanilla Cupcake (TFA)
  • 4% Bavarian Cream (TFA)
  • 4% Sweet Cream (TFA)
  • 5% Sweetener (TFA)

Dang that does look good. I loooove Twinkies. Don't have any sweetener though. I wonder if marshmallow will work.

It is quite excellent, MJ. I'm not an experienced mixer, but maybe a little marshmallow & up the creams by 1% or so each, I dunno. If you get sweetener though, give this one a try. I've only made four recipes, but this is the best one by far (as of yet!).

I've been mixing for about a year now and I know people do use marshmallow for a sweetener but also FA marshmallow ads fluff so I bet it would be pretty good with that.

Congrats on nailing it your first time! I think you're the one person in the universe who's pulled that off.
I bet if you took every ingredient down by 1% or 2% it would be just as flavorful after a steep. And you wouldn't have as much likelihood of flavor muting that sometimes happens with high flavoring percentages.

I may try that next time. I really love all the flavor, but I'm afraid it could end up being a coil-burner-upper!
Thanks for the tip. I will give it a try later this week & report back.

Yeah right. I've just been using everyone else's recipes. Don't usually have the time or patience to do my own and all the tweaked that usually need to be made.

You might want to bring the yellow cake % down a bit. Flavorwest yellow cake has frustose @ 20-30%. Don't take my word on it. Here is a msds (SDS) sheet. Go to section 3
http://juic.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/Yellow-Cake-Flavor-NA-FW-CAK.pdf
I hope you don't mind me tagging your thread with safety concerns.
I personally have come to the conclusion if I buy from flavorwest I'm going to their webpage. They do have msds sheets for their flavorings.

BTW fructose is a natural sugar and can caramelize at about 340 degree's. Acetaldehyde can be produced by burnt sugar (coil) which could be a carcinogen. Vaping is still in it's infancy stage so more testing/knowledge/proof needs to exist. However, personally I don't want to vape sugars in any form.

Thanks for the heads up. I also have cake batter, but can't remember who it's from, as I am at work right now.
I wonder if it would be the same, as I heard someone somewhere else say you could usually substitute it for yellow cake.

IDK I bought a 30ml of flavorwest yellow cake before finding out it has fructose. However, I like capellas cake batter and the vanilla cupcake as well. I start with 5% these days.

I don't know if my cake batter is Capella or not but I'm pretty sure the vanilla cupcake I have is.

As far as I know (which is not for sure) none of Capella's have corn syrup, sugar syrup, fructose or molasses.
But it could simply be that the information is not yet available on any Capella flavors.

If they had any extra sugars the low carbers would have "outed" them already. Capella flavorings are used by low carbers with trust. I found a zip file for capellas but cannot open the zip file.

@Tumbleweed Vanilla cupcake is really good (I think so).

Thanks. I know I like Capellas & TFA way better than the LA flavorings. I had to make my Cherry Cola recipe a couple of times (including last night) to get it right with the LA. The other two have worked well now in a few recipes.

Tumbleweed you can even leave out the sweet cream if you want to.. ( I ran out one time...lol)
Good to know Shawn.
Thanks!

I make this recipe :) It's Great! I leave out the sweetener. I tried it both ways, with and with out Sweetener & found now difference :)
Really?
I was thinking of at least cutting it in half this weekend, when I make a serious-sized batch. I think I will. I can always tweak it after if I have to. Thanks for the heads up.

I've found that too much sweetener can mute the flavors to much, at least for me anyway.
But not too bad if just using 1-3 drops or so in 15ml.

No, they have msds sheets on all their products. I suppose I can't bitch since it has been disclosed. I'm hoping the vendors start to post the info for the public to see. It's hard to research every flavoring. If it is FW I will from now on.

If the actual ratios for this recipe are at all important, then be careful not to just slice it by 1%/2% across the board. Consider that 1% off of 5% is -20% - whereas 1% off of 3% is -33%...and so on

I think the only thing I'll decrease next time would be the sweetener, just to see if there's a difference. I'll probably take it down from 5% to 3.5%. If it tastes the same, then that's less PG anyway, which is fine with me. At it's current strength though I would doubt it's muting anything, as I can taste all the flavors I added. I guess I could always add it all back if I think it needs it, right. I'll just use my calculator.

UPDATE:

I just wanted to report that a couple of days ago marked one week, so I sampled about 3 ml of the Twinkies. It is very, very good. I wanted so bad to just finish the bottle, but I put it away for at least another week. Then I went ahead & made another 75 ml. I figure 60 for me & a 15 ml for a friend, who's dying for some after I let him sample my very first tank, a week ago. I did decrease the sweetener down from 5% to 3.5% & the initial, 3 ml, shake & vape test ride tasted just like the first batch's shake & vape, so I am quite hopeful. I will update the first batch again here after April 14th, as then it will have sat for two weeks. I'm very happy with it so far.

I might have to try that but cut the percentages in half. That would be right up my alley of around 11% for final flavoring. Thanks for posting the recipe.

I'm not trying to be a pain and calling some one out but Tumbleweed you just edited your first post and now say it was Arnies after I just messaged you last night saying you led people to believe it was yours. You didn't come back in here and say geez guys this is not my recipe until I wrote you about this. You should of wrote a separate message on here and not edit it like nothing happened. This is sweeping it under the carpet like nothing happened. Yes I'm a bit upset to see people do this to one another until they are caught. My small rant is over

And as I told you, it was an honest mistake. I first posted this on another forum giving full credit to Arnie. I had to go through Admin on Kritikal Mass to even get Arnie's name. I gave him full credit- go check it out. Wait, I see you already did. I thought I had copied & pasted the whole post for when I put it here on VU (with the credit to Arnie). I did not (my mistake). I edited my first post here after YOU called it to my attention after you read my post on the other forum. I saw that you "liked" it there. I never said I came up with it, I'm too new to DIY to be coming up with stuff this good so soon. It'll be a long time before I'm confident enough to post up something totally original. Right now I'm just trying to work on proven recipes. I only post recipes that I have made & they are recipes I've found and also ones that have positive feedback. I'm trying not to waste ingredients. I'm not trying to be anything I'm not, other than the beginner I am. If anyone else was under the impression that I was coming on here claiming to be some kind of masterful & experienced mixer, allow me to assure you I'm not. But if you've paid attention to anything I've been posting, you'd know that wasn't the case. I'm sorry I actually posted anything & tried to be a active, helpful member. And I'm sorry my "editing skills" weren't up to your standards either.

Not like I want to get into a lovers quarrel but I figured out pretty quick that tumbleweed was talking about one he had made not made up. I didn't realize it at first when I posted but it didn't take long.

To Tumbleweed: It has always been a curtisy here on VU and other sites to post who you got it from.

Can we end with that? It's a good recipe and thank you Arnie and Tumbleweed because I would have never seen it otherwise.

This one definitely looks interesting. I'll have to wait until my next order containing more Yellow Cake shows up. Should be here any day now. I was this close to subbing cake batter last night, but decided to wait it out.

I tried this a few weeks ago and thought I would like it better than I did. It was a little much. It does taste like the outside of a Twinkie but if I make it again I'll probably take some of the other advice on here and lower some of the flavors %.

Thanks for the heads up. I might get it down closer to 20% & try it then. I like max VG & sometimes find that I need more flavor than most, though.
Again- thanks.

So I made this a few days ago.
Initially, it was pretty strong, but even today it's starting to mellow a bit. I'm really starting to like it. I think I ended up at like 20.5% flavoring, I'd have to check my notes.
Going out of town for a few days this weekend & stashing it in the back of my cabinet.
I'm very interested to see what it's like after 10-14 days.

It's been 8 days since I made this & I really like it. Satisfies my sweet tooth.
I can hardly wait to see what it's like in another week.
