BUILD MY MOD

OK, 2nd post here and a total newb with about three days of experience. I bought a VaporFi at a kiosk in the mall, mainly because the salesgirl was smoking hot - good thing she wasn't selling Porsches or I'd have one ticked off wife.

Anyhow, I'm learning that there is soooo much to know, but none of it is out of my realm of comprehension (electronics background). So, I will give you what I am looking for and I am reaching out to the VU crew to make some suggestions for a box mod with my criteria:

  • Working to find the ultimate in e-juice which replicates cigars. I'm awaiting some NET (naturally extracted tobacco) e-juice which is supposed to be very good. We shall see. My understanding (from the owner of the company who called me within 2 minutes of me placing my order), is that they are rough on coils. My current rig uses replaceable atomizers, so that can get pricey. NETs also taste/work better with something called Exowool. Keep all this in mind.
  • I am a MTL smoker, so half of the vape escapes before being inhaled. That being said, I am going to be using some very high nicotine bases - I'm thinking 48 mg/ml might be right.
  • The mod needs to have the rebuildable deck, where I can replace my own coils and wool.
  • I don't think I want to mess with a drip rig, unless someone can offer me a very compelling reason (ultimate flavor).
  • I think a 2-battery box makes the most sense.
  • I want temp and impedance control and battery life indicator.
  • A top fill tank would be preferred.
All suggestions welcome. I'm hoping to be able to build a consensus on brand, style, mods, etc. Sorry if this thread has been beat to death already.

Honestly, I can pretty much afford anything vaping can throw at me. But for argument's sake, let's keep it under 200.00.

NET's are coil-gunkers - that is, they produce a coating on the coil itself when vaped. Dry-burning and re-wicking will be necessary every few days, regardless of the wicking material used.

48mg is insanely high content. 24mg might be a better place to start, particularly with NET's.

Gear-wise, you might look at the new 25mm Griffin or the v2 and Supreme versions of the Aromamizer for a tank. Both have the Velocity-style decks that are very easy to build on and the wicking is pretty easy to get down. Paired up with a Cuboid, iPV4, iStick 100 and a couple of good sets of batteries (LG HG2's, Sony VCT4's) and you'r be rockin'. :shades:

Thanks. I'll look into all of those. I have 24 mg/ml NET juice now and I don't find it to be strong at all. the flavor isn't strong enough, however. Mind you, I smoke like a cigar - inhale maybe 10-20% of the smoke most of the time. I'm going from smoking 3-4 cigars a day, so I have a pretty high tolerance for nicotine. I haven't gotten remotely close to the shakes/sweats yet, so there is room to push it. The eventual plan is to get my own straight NET extract, put in a 48 mg/ml nicotine solution of 50/50 fluid and give that a shot. If it is too strong, I'll cut the mix back with PG until I get the right combo.

Ah-so. I see what you're up to now. ;) With that little inhalation, you most likely can get by with the higher concentration level. The advantage of DIY: you can tweak to find the mix that works for you.

Do check out the gear I suggested. It may not be what's right for you, but should get you pointed in the direction you seem to be heading. And don't rule out a RDA like the Velocity and Tobeco clones: the quest for best flavor might lead you that way. Personally, I'm eying the Tsunami once it gets past the "new item" stage.

For MTL I recommend checking out a tank with a tighter airflow, like a Kayfun or similar. Someone is selling a Monster V3 in the classifieds, which is a tweaked version of that tank design. There are lots of MODS that will meet the requirements you are looking for. Is size or ergonomics a concern? That may help narrow it down.
