Ok caught up ! Just put all the names that entered the contest so far on little posts it's folded them up and threw them in the shopping bag. This way if any late entries come in it's just a few more to fill out and put in. 10pm I do the drawing then message the winners then hit the couch and watch some TV lol. Good luck to those who entered !

is there a good app for reading books on a tablet which is not a Kindle? I was looking for an app to read an e-book on my PC the other day, and really not finding anything. :(

I use sumatra Pdf... it reads pdf epub mobi (kindle) and several other formats and it is free!!! I love it. And it has pretty good customization! Hope this helps

http://www.sumatrapdfreader.org/free-pdf-reader.html

PS you can download it in a portable version that can be attached to a usb/thumbdrive thingy so you don't have any software dragging down your system. I always try and get portable versions of any software I use.

I have no idea about tablets other than kindle but I might soon know as I could be getting a nexus 7 for Christmas/Birthday this year. ;)

Fuck I spent the entire day making pasta sauce only to realize way to much acid and it fucking BURNS. One of my mainstays of food is tomatoes.

link as promised. http://www.powells.com/AdvancedSearch.aspx?kw=stakeout at the vampire&fq=accounting_category :Used&Mode=Search

The last time I made homemade spaghetti, with some tomato sauce from tomatoes that I grew, is when I discovered my body's inability to tolerate them anymore. It was the year before my appendectomy, so I didn't yet know exactly how painful appendicitis really is... it sent me to the hospital because I really thought that's what was wrong with me, the pain and stomach upset were so awful. But CAT scan found no pathologies. When I mentioned my long-standing IBS, they gave me a few pills to "calm" my colon, and it worked. I came home and did a buttload of research, and discovered that those with slow digestion -- mine is slooooooooooow -- might have a lot of trouble with tomatoes in nearly all forms, because of the acid and the extreme amount of gas it causes. So... no more spaghetti or sliced tomatoes, very damn little ketchup, and i scrape most of the tomato sauce off my pizza. Which beats the hell out of totally abstaining from pizza!

Andria

PS - Powell's doesn't have it... so I'm still left with just the Kindle or audible option.

Sounds like fun! Grandparent finally unable to drive tempted to buy the Subaru they have, drives so smooth, similar to what you said. I'd be fun to just go on joyrides through curvy areas again.

@JERUS, I had a 1988 Subaru Loyale with a 1.8L SOHC engine, all-wheel drive, and it had been owned by my brother's ex brother-in-law, who - unfortunately - died from a substance-abuse overdose.

The guy died way too young (20), and I remember getting a call from the guy's father, who remained friendly with our family - though my brother and his daughter had divorced (hell, their kid wasn't even four when the divorce was finalized).

He told me that he couldn't look at the car in his driveway any longer, and if I came and got it - he'd sign the title over to me, and in his tearful words - "...just take it."

My ex and I had a minivan, that I wanted to use with the band I was touring with at the time, as the drummer and I had tired of seeing our gear getting flung around in the band bus compartments.

Plus, I would get free gas if I carried other musicians and/or gear. So, the ex drove the Loyale when I was out of town on gigs.

When I was home, she'd get the minivan; and I would get the Subaru. She could drive a stick, but preferred the minivan's automatic.

I enjoyed that car, even though it was a sedan. The sound of that Boxer engine was like a miniature V-8, and it drove well. It held the road nicely with good rubber on it, and it had a really nice powerband - good torque, and good revs.

I'm talking Liz into getting a 'Sube' for Colorado. It would make the winters easier to handle. I must say, the money I've put into the Focus ZTS - maybe we can sell it, and put the money aside - and, use the profits from the house sale to get a 'Sube,' maybe a Forester fully-loaded, and ready for The Rockies.

We've got ten days until pick-up day for our rental truck. I can't believe that Liz and I are really making this move. I've traveled all over the lower 48. Canada, Mexico, Europe, and the Caribbean. Yet, my home base has always been on the East Coast. At least my brother is in the Valley near L.A., so I won't be permanently landlocked. Liz and I can even DRIVE there.

Yet, I feel so weird. :snapoutofit:

LW & Liz :yes::yes::yes::yes:
