No, you hold it in your hand push the switch and insert the spring end into your e-Liquid and mix it until it is thoroughly mixed around 5 minutes tops.

Was this a serious question or are you just busting balls? :ejuice::cloud::ejuice::cloud::ejuice::cloud::ejuice:

Sorry, it's a serious question. I was meaning to ask that when you use this, you have the solution in an open lid container while mixing with the frother?

The bottom spins and you use that to mix the liquid. I feel that by mixing with this amd heating for anywhere from a half hour to an hour in 140 degree water speeds the aging or "steeping" time and I am mix, heat, rest, shake and vape. I see not major difference between 3 to 4 hours and a week or two from the time I mix it. As long as the mixture has cleared you are good to go.

This is just my opinion from personal experiences and not based on any scientific facts. Maybe the 300 ML's of e-Liquids I have made that are sitting next to me is proof enough?

I see, I'll get myself this as well along with the crackpot. I was planning on making 600 ml batches of e-liquid that I'd vape 24/7 and 300 ml batches of e-liquid I'd vape from time to time. Thanks!

I do not see any reason for a crock-pot. I use tap water from the slop sink next to the Oil Burner so I have 140 Degree water and depending on the side of the container will depend on how many times you need to refill it. just do not heat over 150 degrees as that is said to affect the nicotine.

And also feel free to ask questions as the members here are the most friendly and helpful you will find. My comment was a joke if you were just busting my chops some just do that for laughs!

Do you mean the three weeks you've been into DIY?
Or are you up to three and a half?

Dude... people steep their custards longer than that, and you're espousing your wisdom on injecting oxygen with a milk frother.?

Yes, I have nothing but success and see no difference between mixes from weeks ago and the first taste test. Don't like my posts? Don't read them but do not knock me for nothing but success so far. I am passing on what works for me you disagree fine. You can sit and wait and shake every couple of days I don't mind at all.

If the e-Liquid is not changing color the nicotine is not oxidizing and if using the mixer is so awful why does reputable company sell them? Some people just need to disagree.

Do all e-juice change color when steeped properly? I'm usually making fruit flavors with menthol. Going to try making Custard when I get home later.

I don't vape a lot of fruit vapes, but almost all my juices darken as they steep. FWIW, I vape mostly custards and bakery flavors.

Some change very little - it does depend on the flavoring! As said above, most custards and bakery flavors do darken, but some fruits/menthol do not!

I'm mixing by weight. Therefore, I mix directly in the bottle, most of the time, I'm just shaking the bottle. Occasionally, I'm using an airbrush paint mixer, 'cause it fits into the neck of most of my bottles. The largest volume I'm mixing is 120 ml, and it's gone quick enough, in order to not noticing any flavor impacts, due to oxidation.

I've seen flavor chemists swirl their work instead of shaking. So I figured they must do that for a reason.

I've often wondered how they mix the flavorings themselves, and would think the chemists might know a little bit more than all us experts;).
And I tend to agree with that method myself, but I do shake mine some, however I don't, "heat it" or "beat it":giggle:

I just started to use a magnetic mixer to mix my juices. Seems to work very well. I make several 50ml batches at a time then just let them sit in the cabinet for a week or two before I start to vape them.

Hmmm read through the thread. Very interesting indeed. Hmmm. Welp.

As for color changes, taste changes, and so on it all depends on the flavorings used. This is why testing is so crucial...

Some juices will not change color all that much over time. And when those do its when the nic has over oxidized and and mix no longer tastes good.

On the other hand some mixes do change. An orange recipie I make with orange and brown sugar after two weeks turns a brownish orange color. This tells me it's ready. When I open the bottle at that point I smell sticky orange and brown sugar. However at the start, day one the liquid is clear and you can really smell the harshness of the orange (which many people complain about when using orange FA and manderine FA). I'd rather vape that after 2-3 weeks of aging or steeping.

Mixing with vanilla custard cap v1 or v2 takes time for it to age or steep. More time is further required the more you put in those mixes and people state needing 4-6 weeks or more.

As for heat, frothers/mixing wands, crockpots, the jury is out. There will always be debat on if it is proper or not. It's comical really on this debat. If you start a thread saying crockpot heating at 115 to 140 is good 10 people will agree (most are mixers I respect based on their past shares of information and help. Start a thread saying the reverse a whole new batch of mixers I respect will also agree. All of this comes down if it gives you the results desired do it...but please try other options when you have time...you could find your doing extra work, or that change in process makes your final product better.

As for my personal opion I don't like adding air to my mixes. When I mix my stuff into the bottles and I'm done the lid goes on and I shake it up shake it up. I will warm it alittle prior to just to improve the viscosity. Sure I there are bubbles and that is air. there will be chemical reactions taking place. Things breaking down and building up and mixing and doing its dance. But I personally don't let the byproduct escape from the bottle and let new air into the bottle until it's ready to vape. (I must say I don't mix with alcohol based concentrates)

Thank you as well! Everything I read here are all noted and I'll be trying each methods one by one once I have the right equipment. This mixing of e-juice made me so interested in it that I'd be willing to buy all the equipment that everyone uses to try them all out.

Another question guys:

I'm using 100mg/ml of Nicotine and I want to put 3% for every 30ml batches, according to Steam Engine I should put 9ml of Nicotine. How is the throat hit for this setup?

Something is off, I use 2mg in 15ml and comes out to 0.6ml NIC.
And that's using a 50mg per ml base.

Yours should be 0.9ml NIC per 30ml bottle, for a 3mg Nic content.
2-3 not much TH at all for me.

Yea, that's 3mg/0.3%. When I change it to 3% it says 9ml for a 30ml bottle. I was also overwhelmed with the volume so I stuck with 3mg/ml of Nic per 30ml bottle. I just wondered if any of you guys follow the percentage there or something that's why I asked :D

i use both a frother and a mini food chopper,, sort of like the one in the link for larger batches.

my current habit is to put all of the flavors in a small wide mouth jar.. place that jar (open) into a pan of hot water (140-150) and my vg in another jar in the same pan.. warming vg makes it thin for a few minutes...after a couple of minutes or maybe even just 1 minute i pour the vg into the smaller jar (via a needle for measuring) ,, then i hit the smaller jar with the coffee frother.

small mixes for diy,, trial and error/sampling,, bigger mixer when i have what i want.. nicotine is added at the end of all mixing and just 'shake & vape"

I only use Steam Engine for coils so IDK.
Never heard about any of the other popular juice calcs doing this either.

I found another concern after I made my e-juice. I basically stored my Nicotine 100mg/ml (after browsing through VU) in the fridge. I mixed a couple of my e-juice the other day which were Cotton Candy + Peanut, Strawberry + Raspberry, Lemon + Pomegranate + Cola and Green Apple + Spearmint and I noticed that there's a bad throat hit with my Cotton Candy + Peanut mix which was around 4mg of Nic, but the other mixes with the same amount of Nicotine weren't harsh when vaping. Any suggestions?

Possible hot-spots in the NIC from settling out during refrigeration, but certain flavors can be more harsh than others.
