Hey, Government - no, hear me out, 'cause I'm not here to scream and shout -
I come bearing a simple truth
That must be heard, and I need you to give me your word
That you'll accept my penniless information the same way
That you listen to cash-lathering lobbyists all day.
My word comes free of bribe or coercion
Yet its truth is utterly priceless
From we, the vice-less,
The ex-smokers, the non-smokers,
We who've butted out and light up no more,
So I implore you to listen very carefully:
For many, oh so many,
Vaping's the way to becoming smoke-free.
Both you know, and I know it's simply NOT a tobacco product:
There is no smoke, there's vapor.
And what looks good on paper to you is simply untrue.
Your "facts" are filled with fallacy
In a land of fantasy where trolls and dragons may as well too exist,
Why resist the proof that's right before your eyes -
It wears no disguise, it's simple and true -
Unlike the lies you and your interested parties
Have published in droves, to scare people right into keeping their eyes tightly closed...
ONE DAY, my dear Government, your lies WILL be exposed.
...and the people will feel cheated.
They'll trust you less and less, and then no more.
They'll be angry and want to settle the score over loved ones lost
Due to your blatant deception - the TRUE cost of getting in to bed with Big Business,
Because you cared more for corporate cash than granting exception
For an incredibly effective, inexpensive way to quit...
Because it was ready to help solve a public health crisis,
Until you destroyed it.
