Quit analogs 5 years ago. I started vaping about a month ago and I use a kangertech Subvod starter kit. From the get go I noticed some shortness of breath developing and after about 2 weeks it got really bad. It was nearly impossible to take a full, let alone satisfying, breath. This was not just right after vaping. This shortness of breath lasted for a week. It was bad enough that I just stopped vaping due to the discomfort. It slowly got better after 4 or 5 days.
I thought it might be the high VG content since I was vaping high VG juice (70% VG) so I switched to 80% PG juice. It's been 7 days on the high PG juice and I'm getting the shortness of breath again. Not as bad as I did before (but then again, since my breathing was bad I have stopped inhaling the vapor as much as possible). I believe if I was inhaling the PG juice as I was the VG juice I'd have the same problem right now.
The frustrating/baffling thing to me is that I go to the vape store and the guy that works there is vaping just as much in the 10 minutes I'm there that I do all day. Yet when I ask him he says he has never experienced any shortness of breath from vaping. If I vaped like him for one day, I'd be in the hospital no doubt. I've also seen other people vape and talked to them and if they admit to having shortness of breath they say it is minor at most and goes away a few minutes after vaping.
So what am I doing wrong?
