Hello there
I've been looking to get a second TC mod, right now I have the 75w evic mini with a crown tank and I love it, but I'm wanting to use the .25 coils and I know that means at least a 100w-120w mod.
The choices and reviews are overwhelming! I'm having a hard time deciding. So if you all could list some mods you have used and would recommend that would be a lot of help

Side notes
Not looking to spend over $100
If there is a tank n coils you recommend with a mod, feel free to recommend those as well.

Thank you in advance!

I really like the Hcigar VT133 (DNA200 Chip) for a dual 18650 mod in TC (I only use TC). It can be had for ~$83 shipped from Ecig.com with coupon code: ILOVEYOU. Here's a link to a thread where we are talking about it:
http://vapingunderground.com/threads/hcigar-vt133-dual-18650-dna200.171476/

If that's more than you want to spend or are not comfortable using Escribe, check out the IPV5 from the same place. I prefer the DNA200 chips for TC but have also heard good things about the IPV5 and it's very reasonably priced.

PS Both of the above recommendations use dual 18650's. I can't say enough good things about the VT133, I'm really quite impressed with that mod and at that price it's a steal.

Cheers,
Steve

rx200 is good - but it is a heavy mod (triple battery) and is definitely a handful... might want to check out the sigelei 213 - they are releasing a fuchai version that is a bit less expensive (the original is running around $80 and you would need a pair of married 18650's for it also - recommend the samsung 30q or lg hg2)

from what i understand, the fuchai will be a bit heavier (ss frame, i think, where original is zinc alloy and carbon fiber)... form factor is very compact (pic below next to my evic vtc mini)... have seen some scuttlebutt about the TC, as the original uses a different TC calculation (there is a app on their site for adjusting numbers here

The clarification of the rumor"The TCR temperature mode with Sigelei 213 is not accurate"
The Cause:
As Sigelei we have designed a more accurate way to temp control in which the functions is similar to the TCR on other product. Our liner temperature control is based on Fahrenheit units which in form has a higher level of precision compared to the common TCR which is celsius unit based.
Solution:
1.We have created a tool to do the conversion for you to turn the celsius based TCR values to our Fahrenheit based TCR ( Liner Temperature Control) values. The tool will be available on the Sigelei official website. http://www.sigelei.com/tcr.php
2.To meet market demand of some of the consumers,we will launch the Fuchai 213 version of the device which uses the more common Celsius based TCR calculation.
3.With the reduction of precision down to the current TCR market standards we will be able to launch the Fuchai 213 at half the cost of the Sigelei 213 model.

My favorite TC mods right now are:

The Hohm Wrecker G2 - I love this mod. She's not pretty but she vapes any wire in TC. Menu system has a learning curve to it but once you get her dialed in boy does she vape. She hits like a freight train too.

Hcigar VT133 - I took a chance on this one on Wings recco. Glad I did because it's my favorite DNA. Hcigar also makes my least favorite DNA, the VT200. Dual 18650 DNA and very pocketable. What more can you ask for?

Vape Forward Classic - same chip as the RX everyone is recommending but in a much more pocket friendly form. I love the form factor of a flask. Now if they would only drop a DNA133 in this bad boy I'd be in heaven.

Ecig.com has the G2 and Vt on sale right now but in limited colors. http://blackmvrket.la/ has all the G2 colors for $73. Avail Vapor has the Classic for $59 and I have not seen it cheaper. Hope this helped.

Another vote for the RX200 or 200s, same great preformance. Unfortunately, same shitty 510 pin.

IPV5 is another good one. It's my go to mod for SS TC, I've never vaped any of the other wire options but have tested it with old Ti and Ni coils I have laying around. Seems to do the job. Keep in mind for some mind boggling reason the pre-set for SS temp is 304 so you'll have to use the TCR settings to vape 316l. No big deal as it works great.

One that I've never used but really want to try out is the new Cool Fire 5. It seems to get good reviews and from testing I've seen on YouTube, it's a decent TC mod.

ive used
rx200
the sx mini- v1 and v2
and
the dna200

for myself with pure temp control, it doesn't get any better than the dna200. The thing performs flawlessly.
the con to it, is when you are first trying to see how you like it to perform with certain atomizers, youre adjusting a lot of variables in escribe and assigning profiles.
the pro to that is that once its done, all you have to do to swap from a hug cloud blowing rda to a tootlepuffing clearomizer is a click the profile button twice.
it is also still the current leader of the pack and point of reference for accuracy - and- the board that everything else gets compared to.
they are a bit pricey in comparison to some others, but for some, like myself, its well worth the investment, as I really like fine tuning my vape and having it perform the way I want.

sx350j board- sxmini- the board is great, I like mine, I enjoy them.
I find that they perform better with Kanthal than the the dna does. the dna an preheat and punch with tc wire, the sc mini can perform a punch with any wire including Kanthal
what I don't like about it is the way it perfroms tc, it almost feels like staccato as the mod is firing in tc. that rattlesnake feeling just irks me. it doesn't bother a lot of people but for me, its a deal breaker. I do enjoy the sx for Kanthal though. it an exceptionally well build device.

the rx is also very well built imho, has a hell of a battery life, is upgradeable and a nice mod. the 510 is deplorable but there is someone on facebook swapping out the 510s for fatdaddy 510s
but, I'm spoiled on theboost features of the others.

So, let me get this straight... Everyone who bought the first run of the 213 at $100+ (on average) is stuck whatever wonkey TCR they cobbled together and the remedy to the consumer is a new mod at half the price? WTF?! Whatever happened to the firmware updates? Someone please tell me I have it wrong...

I have a Coolfire IV tc100 that I won from Innokin. It's my commuter mod. It's so light and powerful for its size. My only complaint is the internal battery and the 510. A lot of tanks don't sit flush on it but my Crown does. That Aethon chip is sooooo under rated it's a shame. If they made this mod with dual 18650's I'd be the first on line for it. Can't say enough good things about that board.

Sounds like my first car, a VW Bug but it was 0 to 60mph in 90 minutes :D:giggle::giggle:

Edit Yes they made cars back then lol
VW Bug lol. I remember them. The only option was a cigarette lighter and ashtray. Lmao

i tend to prefer wattage/ power modes with my SS coils - but feedback i have seen thus far indicates that the TC works and works well, though it uses a different (hypothetically more precise) algorithm via degrees fahrenheit calc (instead of a degrees celsius calc with a fahrenheit conversion)... the fuchai model uses a different frame (again, as i understand it) that is less expensive (and a good bit heavier - one of the things i like about my 213 is the VERY solid, VERY light construction)

Vapor Shark is supposed to be putting the Flask out in a DNA 133 (200) configuration very soon.

Yeah I know I heard that months ago. Not thrilled that Vaporsharks doing it with their questionable QC.

Was using the Innokin Cortex and the KBox120, have since upgraded to the Kbox200 but really all have worked out great.
