Sigelei - Fuchai - 1 Battery always takes double the time to recharge!

Hi guys,

Recently purchased a sigelei Fuchai after always having single battery set-ups - mechanical - dna40 - rdna etc.

I also bought 2 new Sony vtc5 to marry with the mod but have noticed that one battery always seems to take double the time to recharge as the other! (Tbh haven't really paid much attention till now)

Haven't done any investigation yet, so not sure if it's the same battery each time or from the same slot!

Any help or advice would be appreciated?! (does this sound like a battery issue - been sold a dud or a mod issue!)

Many thanks in advance!

Do you have a separate charger to charge in? Do you have a volt meter so you can see if they are discharging evenly? I only ask because that's the way I would narrow it down. It's impossible to know if the mod is charging badly, bad batteries, or they are being discharged unevenly without a meter.

If I didn't have any of the above, I would try switching the slots the batteries are in. If the same battery takes longer to charge (Example battery 1 is now taking longer. Switch it to slot 2 If it takes longer in 2 it's probably battery related). If the battery in slot 1 is always the battery that takes longer (no matter which battery you have slot 1) it's mod related. Hope that makes sense.

Cheers,
Steve

Edit To be clearer if the problem follows the same battery around no matter which slot you have it in the mod, it's battery related. If the problem always happens in the same slot no matter which battery is in that slot, it's mod related.

Mark your batteries with 1 and 2 and switch them up and see if it's always the same battery or always the same slot.

For the 1st time I used the mod until the batteries were dead - both now seem to be recharging at the same rate!

To me it doesn't seem right that the mod doesn't drain the batteries evenly...

I always understood that to improve battery life you should not drain fully! (Appreciate that have a safety margin)

I'd really recommend getting a DMM so you can check the batteries with a meter. That way you could pull them at various states to see if they are charging/discharging evenly? You can get one pretty cheap around me (Harbor Freight) or at FastTech or probably even Gearbest.

Cheers,

got a basic circuit AC / DC / meter but should pick up a better digital one - kinda hard to notice much change on a single unit scale...not gonna break the bank!
