Welp, there is not going to be an end to this fucking mess, and the thread will be in the Mud Pit.

I am no longer going to be a participating member of this forum. If you have a problem that requires my assistance, PM me. I will check PMs at least once per day.

Roxy dear, it only got a little stupid because some folks here love your work and are protective of you.

I do not really understand the logic your speaking of @roxynoodle, any Criticism or Praise is good PR for you either way. Not participating in the forum will only drown your name. You are a very knowledgeable valuable active member, and would love for you to continue posting in the forum, thank you.

I have recently been sent one of these from the MFG, and will check it out with a review myself. I always shoot straight from the hip when doing a review as being a average user rather then a technical reviewer.

And you can't get past 30W? Can I see the build?
Roxy it was just a 5 wrap basic 28 / 32 ga clapton believe I used a 3.5mm Jig. I took it out to play around & built a chimney coil this one is reading 1.10 ohms 3.5mm but when I get home I will do a new horizontal build & check it again. @ 30 watts it would burn my mouth within a couple seconds
I can run the Boreas @ 100W same build & not be that hot

I have here the "unofficial" o-ring sizes, I didn't check as to where they go, I just measured what was in the bag.
Three 5 x 1 mm
One 8 x 1 mm
One 12 x 1 mm
One 14 x 1 mm
Two 20 x 1.2 mm
Am I sure these are the correct sizes of the ones in the bag? Yep
Edit: The one between base and chamber is 15 x 1 not 14 x 1 mm, still may work just fine, not sure.(14 x 1 mm is what's in the bag)
Under the top cap (outer edge) and at the ends of the glass are the 20 x 1.2 mm, three are needed, two are included.
The 8 x 1 goes in the middle between the juice filling slots under the top cap.
The 5 x 1 mm goes on the end of chimney tube at chamber, might fit the drip tip also, didn't check.
As for the 12 x 1 mm, I haven't the slightest idea unless some how the base comes apart and it's for the AC ring.
Are your measurements, the inner diameter or the outer diameter?

Roxy, I don't normally have much to say but you should not remove yourself from this forum because of one asshole who likes to hear himself talk and obviously likes to cause trouble. If we all just put him on our ignore list, he can talk all he wants. We won't be listening!!

No matter what forum I have been on there has always been at least one bad egg that has tried their best to ruin it for others.
They come on to the forums as a know-it-all with their mistaken self important, arrogant and overbearing attitude.
It seems that we have found another one that resembles this.

All I can say is Roxy please don't let this stop yourself being a contributer on this forum.
I can very safely say you are a very much loved and hugely apprieciated and much admired member of this forum.
Please don't let one bad egg ruin it for you and for the rest of us.

now I am glad I did not comment on any of that nonsence
there was some one who had leaking problems on the merlin and I hope that roxy will be back soon with some of her knowlage to coment on that.
I have the same but so intermittent . so I am trying different things
packed some additional wicking into the base outside the juice cups because 2.5 mm coil will not be enough to fill the cup and have some extra to go into the main bottom part. ... looks like it does it !...but I put my foot into my mouth before.
next thing I will try is to find some 4mm 0.5 screws and dill them out to different sizes for the air reducer and leave them a little higher , maby 2 or so mm.
that should reduce the juice from migrating out of the air intake . and put the coil up higher and in the top holes.
well the tank is halv way down and powder dry !!

I run 2.5mm and if you cut the tails just a bit past the main base then fluff the tails
I put my tails just above the cup not in it and then put the tail all the way to the bottom up to the front and I dont get any leaks nor dry hits

There was a video a few pages back, unfortunately I don't recall which one, that did a good hob showing how to wick. Pretty much like Dave says, but it made more sense to me seeing it than reading it.

Ive been experimenting
like right now i have a 2.5mm .6 ohm clapton coil running at 18 watts with juice control almost closed flavor seems good and its running pretty good with no over heating

Before this i have a 26ga at 1.0 and it seemed to give better flavor with wattage at 16 watts

Dude, we are way too lazy to pour through 38 pages looking for this :p

Thanks for reposting ;)
hey lucy
I watched that vid before and others to ..but as I can see they all put their cotton all in the cup .
and none in to the main chamber bottom .
hope I understand daves comment right just cover the top of the juice cup and the rest into the main chamber.
using 50 ..50 pg vg might not help to much either.
my last build with extra cotton in the base and the cotton from the coil all fluffed into the cup worked much better .
also maybe the cotton in the cup on my n should be above the juice intake hole to . will try more things

rolf 2 I use 50/50 pg/vg myself and it seems to work my way
I tried stuffing it in the cup alone and as soon as it hit 70 degree Lost a whole tank of juice
jes myne is not that drastic . I call it wet feet syndrome . everything stays nice and dry ..until I vape it 20 times and the tank heats up !
let it cool and an hr later no leaks again .
my build is 2.5 mm twisted . and in the one right now using cellu cotton . also tried different cottons ...same
changing to a little more vg also helped a little , but not much
we can allways buy a couple more tanks and ceep rotating them .. not a bad idea either !!

I'm using 50/50 and its wicking like a champ. I went out of my way all afternoon Tuesday and part of last night trying to make the thing dry hit. It started getting a little funky at 31 Watts (way too high for a 1.2 ohm build) after five solid minutes of chain vaping, but it continued to wick perfectly.

hi lucy
I agree but wicking is not the problem it acts more like over wicking . only when the tank gets hot .
cant think of anything what I am doing wrong . just tried to change the bottom o ring . funny thing it looks the size is different than anything in the spare parts ! the only one I could fit is quite a bit smaller and has to stretch more . don't know jet but the tank is very hot and so far no leaks !!!
I got number 0002 maybe ..just maybe that was it ?

hahahaha, #2

I've found the tanks get too hot when the screws in the post kind of untighten themselves a little...

Just my tootle puffing experience and I can't explain how or why it happens. But when I have a tank that starts to run too hot, I almost always find the screws are not as snug as when I first built it. Maybe from the contracting/expanding from heating up and cooling off?

Yeah, I'm wishing I'd of bought another last weekend during all the sales, but I didn't want to buy a third one until I'd gotten to actually vape one. But I did get an extra Boreas instead.

I'm really liking the Merlin a lot.

To me, the black Merlin is prettier in person than the photos. I bought both the black and SS.

But I always preferred the black Boreas to the SS version. I also have both black and SS.

Copied from a post I made last Tuesday:
" The one between base and chamber is 15 x 1 not 14 x 1 mm, still may work just fine, not sure.(14 x 1 mm is what's in the bag)"

Not enough airflow will also cause the atty to heat up......just saying.

My first Merlin arrived, and it is beautifull.....first build gave me a few dry hits as I put to much cotton in front of the juice hole....once I fixed that no issues what so ever,. Must be one of the easiest RTA's to wick once you realise that....not a drop of leakage...very easy to build.
And for those that think you need big ass coil in it.....you sure don't, I tried it with a tiny 2mm 1.5 ohm coil, and it works perfectly, no leakage.

I tried it on the Xvostick and Ystick, but alas that indeed is a no go, it has found it place on the Dicodes Dani Box for now. Will try it on the Smoant knight once it gets in.
Even though it won't work with my favorite mods I did also order me a black one, as it is really that good and easy.

Another thing I noticed: the color scheme/indentations on the top/bottom part match the Nautilus X perfectly :)

Well my Merlin has arrived,my first RTA and it is beautiful! Cleaned it up and am now awaiting the postman for wire and cotton. One question, the merlin leaves a small gap when screwed onto my mod.I ordered some mod savers from kidney puncher but i found a copper washer that made it fit perfect. Is this ok or is it dangerous being metal? Thank you for any help.

Should be fine, especially if you're using it on a regulated mod.

hi craig
the heating up I don't think is exesive ..chain vaping will heat that thing after a while which I think is in the normal range.

on the orings I am confused so . the one I took out mesures 15.5 mm ..nothing close in the parts pouch.
the one I had to put in is 12 mm and that's defenetly wrong but that's in the package the other size is larger and would fit the glass .
the funny thing ...it worked
inspecting the old o ring I cant find anything wrong with it but the tank leaked with it . no matter how I wicked it when the tank got warm .
14 or 15 mm close enough for government work , but 12 mm ?is stretching it to much .

Eyeglasses repair kits would probably be useful for what we all do.

I've been meaning to dig one of mine out and see what's what. Lots of tiny screwdrivers, etc. with decent grips

does anyone have the Boreas & the Merlin how do you think the draws compare
my Merlin feels extremely tight compared to the Boreas (reducer is removed) I have a .5ohm Clapton build in it now (4 different builds so far)
I still cant go over 30 watts it burns my mouth

Are you using the precoiled Youde wire? If so, I had to stop using mine, because it does very very hot.

As Juicy Lucy said, they're totally different draws, although I do DL on both, and I like that I can run the Merlin at 40 watts or 60 watts and get a different vape!
