I Want To Get Away From Coils/Atomizers. HELP

I have a Kanger ProTank II on a mod. I have had it for over 2 years. I'm looking to upgrade to something that doesn't use coils/atomizers.
I recently ordered a Kanger Dripbox because I was impressed with the setup.
I'm tired of having to purchase coil units, 5 in a box for $13+ (I usually order them 3 boxes at a time from FastTech). I'm tired of having to screw and unscrew the Tank to change the coil.
Watching Youtube videos on the Dripbox, I see there is still a coil, but you can extend the life of the coil by changing out the cotton.
Ok.
That's a step up.

But is there something out there that doesn't use coils at all?
Something in the mid-end price wise?
I've been vaping for over 4 years, and I've never really been in a position to move up to the new technology.
I vape after having been a smoker for 36 years. Stopped cold turkey once I hit my first E-cig.
Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks!

P.S. I've been lurking and reading and learning.
That's why this is my first comment. :)

When we were kids my brother had a medical vaporizer for asthma medication, you could probably use one of those :p. Really though, coils are what heats the juice, the cotton (or whatever) brings the juice to the coils. I'd imagine there's some kind of technology out there that could do what you're asking but I don't think there's anything on the market yet.

With an RDA (what the Dripbox is essentially) you're going to have to swap out wicks at the same rate you swap coils now, but the coils themselves if they're well made from quality material can last you months, so it's just prepping, inserting and trimming cotton once or twice a week basically. Adds up and saves you money, but then you're dripping all the time... RTAs are the same but you have to add in taking it apart before re-wicking.

Maybe someone else knows of some awesome setup that doesn't use coils but rebuilds will save you money but they do take some time once or twice a week for maintenance. And, $10-15 6mo-1year worth of cotton and $5 per roll of wire, well again it adds up and saves you quite a bit.

I have COPD, so I know what vaporizers and inhalers are. :)

The thing that turned me on to the Dripbox was the ease of changing out the cotton. Although it's not as easy as changing out a coil, (out with the old, in with new) with my current setup, I can see the advantages of how much longer the cotton in a DripBox can last. I have done the research about cotton, what type, the cost and how long it would last against how much I vape, and the cost savings is definitely there. I guess I'm just tired of having to get "under the hood" of my unit, when all I really want to do is add juice, and off we go.
I'll keep looking around. I'm sure something has to be out there.
Thanks for responding!

Get an rta. Buy some pre-made coils which are super cheap and will last you forever. Then dry burn and change cotton. Once you do that you will be practically spending zero for coils. If you need to learn about dry burning check out some you tube videos.

Welcome! :)
Bad news tho... no way to vape without a coil. :(

Why you be hatin' on coils?

I hear ya. I've always wondered why there isn't something as you described. I'm no engineer myself, but I'd imagine top airflow plus a heating plate you could vaporize the liquid at the plate causing some popping and gurgling which might not be optimal but vaporizing the liquid none the less, and with the top airflow you'd be able to clear the top of the chamber of the vapor. But, I don't know of anything like that on the market. It may take too much power to heat a plate like that (so you'd end up holding the button for 10s before it starts vaporizing)? or maybe the liquid would pop too much making it basically unvapable? I don't know, but seems like a simple enough idea that someone would have tried it?

Didnt read other comments just op. But all vaping products gotta use some type of coil to heat the e liquid.
And u jumping from a protank 2 to a squonk mod with rda on top , which means building and ohms law and battey safety . And a lot more to handle! Haha
Good luck . Your right though if u learn to use this mod safely, all u need is a spool of wire some cotton and keep a fresh battery and ejuice and u good! No more ordering packs of atomizers

Coils be hatin' on me! The Clearomizer Coil Heads I use don't last long!
I got my wife away from those, based on @Whiskey 's suggestion. They are weak, compared to what's available now. I got her a Eleaf GS tank, and 1.5 ohm coils from Sweet Vapes, on top a Eleaf Pico. The GS tank is inexpensive, and so are the coils, and cheaper than the Protank 2 coils for 5. The coils last 4X longer, taste and vape 10X better too.

There IS a coil less atomizer however I forget the name of it and it's very pricey - I personally can't see me liking it.
I have all diff setups now using the drip box just got it.
My reason was so I can have something to learn to build on.
I'm at point soon I'll be changing the cotton- lol

At the current time the Blue Laser fired Mod has not been created yet but if I could get rid of atomizers this would be the way..

I think I have read an article about this. It's using a chip to heating up the ejuice. It's going to be the first coiless atomizer.

Yes but you need to re-wick it every now and again but not so frequently.

Well if you went with a rebuildable dripper (drip box) and wick it with ekowool or silica. You could probably reduce rewicking and coil changes to every, 1 to 6 months. Coil gets dirty, you just dry burn it and rinse with hot water. Depending on type of juice this burn/rinse step could be done as often as daily.

You could go to a Genesis style tank wick it with mesh. Basically the same dry burn and rinse process when coil gunks up. but the only time you have to rewick or change a coil, is when you feel like it or damage the coil somehow.
