I have a question on the cricket by Wismec....everyone is telling me to put at least a .3 or higher build on it. When I look at the recommendations on the Wismec site, it says .2-.5 From personal experience, I know a .2 will NOT be a good thing (the rda burst in to flames on me)....so the .3 I can see, but how high can you go? What runs best on it? I have the Tsunami and am getting the Wismec Indestructible tomorrow. Any other recommendations?

well the lower you build, the more stress you put on your batteries. at .3 you are pulling over 20 amps, which is the normal rating for most of these batteries. if you are using good batteries thats not a problem so much because they are capable of pulsing at higher amps than that for short durations, but i prefer to try to stay close to twenty amps or below for a daily vape...also on a series box thats a pretty hot and bothered vape. on full batteries at .3 ohms you are looking at about 200w to the coils. i prefer closer to .4. amp draw at that point is closer to twenty and the vape is a bit easier, but still snappy (~150w). i have tried up to .9 and that just didnt have enough punch for me. im going to say the optimal range for me is .4 to .6ish.

I'd agree with mach1ne, I've tried some below .4Ω builds but they just burned through the juice so fast that I'd get either 1 puff and have to redrip or get some nice burnt cotton. My favorite builds so far are right up in the .45-.5Ω range, mainly 28gK (or 30gSS) core fused claptons. But, you can go higher than that, I have a build that was at 1.11Ω and it was solid, it fires well at ~45w and that's about what you get with a series setup.

.25 is what I would classify as "stupid low", taking into account voltage loss .25 is 33 amps at 269 watt's, yes that's "stupid low.

I say don't build below .4, that's 20.5 amps at 168 watts and that's even pushing it and you're better off setting .5 as your limit. I generally stay between .7 - 1.1.

With the Tsunami, it's bottom airflow, build arount .8-.9, Indestructible I get rowdy with mine at a .5 build. Fused Claptons, a series mod really makes them come alive.

The first build I put in mine was a .4x. It was stupid powerful. Next time will be at least .7 or higher. Still wondering if it was something I should have purchased.

It's just all about the build. Like I said above, I've ranged from .3Ω all the way to 1.3Ω

Series mods are great, like all Mech's you need to build to the Mod

With a Series my sweet spot is .7 - .8 ohms generally

I knew that with that build as I calculated the power. I will be building to that mod.....eventually......maybe.

Part of my issues is the wire I have. The Clapton I bought tasted bad. Thought about making something but haven't crossed that bridge.

If you have a lighter or torch (hell you could probably use the burner on your stove) just torch that wire, get it to glow the whole length. Just glowing it on the mod won't get the legs torched, anyways just something I've done before with crappy bad tasting wire and it helped.

Don't let this put you off from it, Series Mod's are awesome but you need to build right for them. With Kanthol I usually use 30x2/36 fused claptons.

I think you told me this before. I looked at kidney puncher and almost bought wire to make it. The only way I can get enough ohms with what I have is a 14 wrap 24g kanthal dual.

I never use any Kanthal larger than 28g on my Series boxes or 30g with SS, again you need to build high with series boxes.

Thanks. I was unsure of the stability of smaller wire. I may have some smaller stuff laying around. I do have 26 and maybe 28. Thanks for the info. That should help.

More coil mass for series voltage. Some variation of claptons at the right resistance will take the power well. Simple round wire builds work better in 4 volt mechs. Don't give up on the mod. Find the right build for it.

Yep!

I got this beast, have it on my 26650 Series Mod with 29gx2/36 SS with 12 wraps around a 3.5mm di.
It's bit, it's obnoxious and kicks some really obnoxious clouds. But it's damn fun!!!!!
