What to buy?

So the wife says go to the vape shop after work tomorrow and get what you need to stock up... I currently have a pico with the Melo III and the kanger top tank mini. I will be getting another pico and the uwell crown and the RBA for it. I want to get another mod that takes (2) 18650's (regulated) and a good rba tank, but not sure which ones. I want to move away from pre-made coils. I know I could get more for my money online, but would rather spend at my local shop. Any thoughts?

Since you don't want to buy online, let us know what your local shop sells. Most shops will also sell RDAs (dripping atomizers) which will also let you build coils to your heart's content at the least cost.

This is a really well stocked shop, they have it all. Not really sure if I want to go into dripping. I will however probably pick up an rda. An rda won't break the bank, and who knows I may eventually get into it. I know I don't want to buy anymore pre-made coils. I have even been re wicking my Ijust coils, but that is a huge pain in the ass with limited reward. Have been mainly using the RBA that came with the Toptank, but that to is limited. Not looking for a fog machine flavor is my goal.

In that case, for dual 18650 devices, I'd just go in and play. I own the Cuboid, it's okay, but I don't want another. Just ordered myself an Hcigar VT133; seems like it has a decent reputation for being a pretty good mod. I thought it was time to play with the DNA series and their software. You should also be able to find a couple others to choose from too. Kinda nice if you didn't get in a hurry and could come home, check the forums and ask more questions once you have an idea of what you'd kinda like. Sometimes the ones that look real cute end up being a disaster.

Id hold off on the crown as the crown v2 is due out and has had good reviews. As far as mods-i think you're gonna get many different opinions-might want to state things that are important to you such as battery life, TC, wattage needs....

And id get a dripper...ya know/just in case. I recently have gone back to mine after s long hiatus and have been pleasantly surprised at a difference I believed didn't exist when i stopped using them. Just a thought. As for rta...well i can say im not impressed with my griffin 25 other than it being leak proof (with correct wicking) and a cloud chucker. Flavor is just not impressive.

With the rush of new mods coming to market the end of June, hopefully your local b/m will be trying to liquidate some older inventory and you can get a good deal. Some good mods that you might keep a look out for would be the Vaporesso Tarot VTC 200, Sigelei Fuchai, P4U IPV 5, all quality dual 18650 devices that should drop in price soon.

So I pulled the trigger today and in addition to another pico, juice, cotton, wire, batteries and a bunch of other items I got the istick TC 100 and the Smok TFV4. I originally planned on getting the Crown, but after I looked at the RBA for the crown I quickly realized it wasn't any larger than than the one I have for the Toptank. The RBA for the crown was also a separate purchase from the tank. The TFV4 came with the rba, extra glass, a triple coil and a quad coil. I am breaking the quad coil in right now. Just now hitting 50 watts with bottom air flow wide open and drip tip air flow closed. This thing is amazing the flavor is at a whole new level. I'm sitting at my work bench and the vapor is dimming the lighting over my bench. I'm glad I got the big bottles of juice because this thing is a juice guzzler. I am also very happy with the istick very solid mod. I just have to get use to the size and weight difference from the pico. Feels like I'm holding a brick in my hand. I went I little over budget but I'm OK with that and I'm sure the wife will be to...in a day or so...

After running this rig since yesterday I have noticed a couple of things with the TFV4. The first item is the RBA I have read a lot of reviews regarding leaking and it seems that a lot of the issues are from improper wicking. Although I have noticed that the O-ring at the base of the tank does not have full surface contact. The O-ring runs under the juice channels and has no support at those two locations. If the O-ring is installed dry or if the rba is not tightened just right it's going to leak. Also I had to finish the manufacturing process of the tank, meaning I had to de-burr the threads. I have noticed this on a few tanks that I have bought. The lead thread had a nasty burr on it. Not a big deal it only took a couple of minutes to clean up. Although this thing sucks juice at an ungodly rate I am actually using less juice. With my other tanks I was constantly chain vaping for nic satisfaction. Not with this thing, a couple hits and I'm good for a while. I did also notice that you can't run the tank down very far before getting slight dry hitting at least with the quad coil. If the juice level gets below the top set of wicking holes it starts to hit a little dry. It's not a toe curling dry hit, but it is noticeable.

Since you want to plan for the future and want to get into rebuilding, you might as well get a proper RTA or RDA with a proper build deck and not another replaceable head tank with a sucky optional RBA head.

I've heard others mention the high rate of juice consumption on the tfv4 especially with the quad coil head installed. Typically the more coils/wicks the faster it goes through juice, for cutting back on juice consumption maybe a dual or single coil? Can't really speak much for the tc100w, I've only had mine about a day and a half. Loving it so far but haven't used it long enough to speak about its durability/longevity.

You're right, it's a bit of a brick but thankfully is rounded so seems to fit the hand good. I like that it has the tc option as well as the option to run single or dual batteries. Seems pretty solid to me so far though, no glitchy issues, no rattles. The only problem I had was when I first attached my new rta. Kept telling me atomizer short but that was my fault. My coil was up just a little too high I think, I pushed it down a hair and no more fault codes. (hey it's working as intended right? lol - user error, doh).

Can't say whether the ehpro bachelor is the best rta out there but I like that the tank comes off the build deck without leaking. Earlier I wanted to sample some juices and instead of washing the tank out over and over I just rewicked it with a fresh wick. Saturated the wick, screwed the tank portion back on and basically used it like a half assed rda. Made sure the juice flow was closed and just vaped what was on the wick. Wash rinse repeat through the flavors taking just a minute to rewick in between flavors and a few quick pulses to glow the coil and burn off the old flavor. Sometimes ya just gotta get creative lol.

I did. I also got a mutation and a Griffin, they have been tucked away. Same thing with the 2nd pico tried it out and made sure everything works right, cleaned it up, pulled the battery and in the drawer it went.

So why not wait to stock up on newer tech after 8/8?

I will probably make additional purchases but considering the current state of affairs I have a feeling that the next round of new items coming out will have some serious QC issues. Manufacturers will be driving for the hoop getting as much product out as possible. Then what happens when and if things go completely south. You have an item with a warranty issue and needs to be sent out. Will it be let back in ? We will just have to play it by ear. My local shop just had to return 6 I sticks to eleaf. All 6 of them were DOA right out of the box. Not sure which mods, he was on the phone explaining to someone that replacements had not come in yet.

Heard a bit of news from my local shop on Eleaf...They are going to start uping prices to shop owners for merchandise because of impending FDA regs,(You know that will hit you in your pocket) Now they will have to pay a bigger price just to carry their line. Wonder if others are looking to do the same.

If you believe vaping devices are going away as we have come to know, then stock up while you can at a cheap price. When new devices go away, existing will become harder to get due to more demand, and prices will go up. No one will lower their prices. If devices and atomizers are regulated out of existence, what is available will be made by yourself/friends or purchased at a premium price on the black market.
