Coil Death

I use a Crown tank with a .25 coil with an iStick 100tc. I also use a Cubis tank with a .25 Notch coil with a Tesla Stealth. Got some really tasty juice yesterday...VapeWild. Coil in my Crown is only 2 days old, Cubis.....about 2 weeks. After about 1 tank in each, Started getting that crappy, burnt taste. I noticed that TC helped a little with the Crown, but I'm not really much of a TC fan. Did my coils just die or is it because of the juice.....or am I doing something wrong? Any suggestions would be helpful.

Some juices (especially those with sweeteners or natural flavorings, though not exclusive to that) simply kill coils faster by leaving some gunky residue. At 2 weeks on the Cubis coil you were probably pushing it's life. For it to kill a couple day old Crown coil though is alarming. What PG/VG ratio did you get? If it's higher VG than what you used to use and you didn't drop the wattage you can try that. You may simply be outpacing the wicking with your vaping. So it's not necessarily the juice just it could be. I'd try dropping the wattage, especially if it's higher VG. Every different juice, every different coil (even if they're supposed to be identical) just drop the wattage a good 10-15w and start climbing back up till you find your happy spot.

Thanks, that's kind of what I was thinking. Also, I have always used .25 coils and inadvertently may have put the power up too high not realizing that .5 coils don't run that high. I took your advice, bought a new .25 coil, primed it and let it sit. Then slowly started pushing up the watts. Only hit about 63 watts and backed it down to 57. Seems to be good and tasty there. Also, just trying VapeWild ejuice. The eJuice is MaxVG 85+. They taste great but has anyone heard anything bad about them?

They're one of the more popular "bargain" ejuice companies as far as I know. I put the bargain in quotes as I don't mean to call it cheap in quality, just cheap in price. Lots of overpriced juice out there.

jnpres I do not have the crown,I have herd a lot of complaints about the coils.Scuba is a caster on VU live (Friday at 8:00 PM) and he fixed his issue by starting very low like 40W and slowly building the wattage up.He gets up to a month out of his coil and there is a chance that there is a bad batch of coils out there too..The Chine are famous for there QC :headbang: :xD:...Hope it helps
