I finally got that "Vanilla Wafer" experiment mixed up. After I mixed it, I let it sit in hot water (refreshed every 15 minutes) for about an hour. Now it's laying on its side, and I did open it and let it "breathe" once I quit the heat-steeping. It's a much weaker mix than I normally do, so I dunno if it'll be vapable anytime soon, but I hope so, it smells fantastic. :)

I'll have you know my Mister puts on a red clown nose whenever we pass flaggers on the road construction projects screwing up the path to town. Entertains the flaggers immensely.

I hope so!! They're some of my favorite cookies; they're yummy and delicious but not overwhelming, the way that mallomars are overwhelming. I can eat at most, 2 mallomars at a sitting; vanilla wafers, I can and have eaten half a box before I convinced myself to stop. :D

This was the recipe I tried... no idea if it'll be a good mix or not, till I try it, but I had to start somewhere. :D

You can thank Bush Jr. for passing the No Child Left Behind Act and the way some teachers are "teaching" or a lack thereof. There are so many reasons public schools are suffering for lack of good teachers: tenure, state mandated testing, ridiculous goals, and low pay just to name a few. There is so much expected from teachers nowadays besides teaching their subject matter. I could go on and on, but I think you get the idea. However, the biggest failure of public schools is that "power" has been stripped from teachers to control their classroom. In essence, the students run the show and the teacher is basically a glorified baby sitter in most cases. Like the comic strip above, everything is blamed on the teacher when the child fails, somehow or another it's the teacher's fault regardless if the student is not doing the work, studying for tests, etc. Thus the reason I moved up to the college level; if the students don't do the work or study or whatever it takes to pass the class, not my fault! And I don't have to hear it from the parents!

Almost got myself in big trouble today at the parade. Big dumb string bean tweaker kept getting in front of the kids and taking all the candy. Then cussed at someone for not giving him enough candy and threw it at them. Then almost ran my kid over about three times. Mama bear crazy bitch came out. I have no patience left for idiots, especially when they get close to hurting my kids. Dumb mother fucker
