Anyone know the size of the allen wrench post screw holes for the Griffin 22mm?

I'm quite annoyed. Received my Griffin 22mm a while back, just got around to opening it up, and one of the post screws came completely stripped, I mean the alley wrench hole, so I'm unable to get it out. The tank is unusable until I can figure out how to get this post screw out. I've been heating up the build deck in my UC hoping that would loosen it enough to get it out, but no luck so far. I'm not able to get any traction with the included allen wrench, so I'm hoping if I know the exact size, I can find one just a tiny bit larger that I can use to get it out. Any other ideas?

TIA!

The allen wrench I use in the Griffen 25 is 1.25 mm or 0.050". I think it's the same on the Griffen 22. The next wrench size up would be 1.5 mm which is just a hair smaller than 1/16", 3 thousandths of an inch, to be exact.

Try tossing it in the freezer. Cold will make the metal contract a bit and can make it loosen up. Aside from that there are special bits made for removing stripped screw, problem is I don't think I've ever seen one small enough to work here, but might be worth looking into, it's basically just a drill bit but reversed so the cutting edge is on the counter clockwise motion. There are some types of drill bits that could be used for this as well, but again not sure if they come that small, anything with a reverse cutting edge will work.

Last resort, put some JB Weld in the stripped screw head, stick an old Alan key in it, make sure, not to get the JB Weld on the post, wait for it to harden, (hopefully) unscrew the screw. In order to be able to use the Allen key again you'd have to cut it.
I'm utilizing high quality hex drivers for the hex screws, in order to prevent stripping. I have a set, due to my other hobby (flying RC collective pitch Helicopters).

HERE

Amazon and Ebay links get read as "media" by this forum so they get all screwed up. You can just type a word and use the link function at the top of the message box to create a link and then it'll work fine.

Fantastic advice everyone, thanks! Vaping is my only "little tool" hobby, so when a problem like this arises I'm totally lost! And I want to use my new Griffin! :xD:

I think I'll start with trying to freeze it and go from there, but the JB Weld idea is a great one. Looks like I have some options. :)

I read about the JB Weld trick on my RC Helicopter forum. Depending on the size of the Heli, you can't put it in the freezer.

Just wanted to update this thread with a nod to Geekvape's CS. Contacted them via email, and eventually received a replacement build deck, whose post screws are removable. Of course, I haven't gotten around to actually using my now usable Griffin 22mm, my Boreas has made sure of that. But it's good to know that I now have a usable tank, waiting and beckoning.
