Accurate and reliable scale recommendation

Well I'm sick of syringes, vials and different size nibs for dripping concentrates.
Think it's time I get some scales for accurate mixing.
Of course the only way I can be accurate going by weight, is the purchase some accurate scales.

I don't mind spending a bit more for something that will do the job properly day in day out.

What do ya'll recommend?

The LB-501 is a good scale but one thing about it that I didn't care for is the fact it has a non-detachable lid/cover. That isn't a huge issue but in my experience, those things just get in the way and can affect accuracy if it interferes with the balance of the scale.

I've been thinking about diamond scales. Generally quite accurate as no one wants to lose money on such valuable weight. Some are very exxy though. Happy to spend about $100 or so

Why I'll be dipped in . I have the LB-501 and never even tried to take the lid off. Good to know.

I took a fingernail file and widened the slot a bit to make it easier to get on and off.

I have the LB-501 as well and have never thought to take the lid off as it doesn't get in the way for me or throw it off balance. I like the fact that it comes with calibration weights and I use the bowl that came with it for spill containment. Another plus is it comes with an AC adapter. I don't have to worry about it turning off in the middle of mixing.

Well I made up my first few mixes with my new scales this morning.
Very interesting to see the inconsistencies of using drops, even through the same size nibs on various bottles.
Easy, reliable, and a great investment.

My scale does auto shut off, but it's never been an issue, since you typically tare between flavors anyway.

I know the OP has already made their purchase, but anybody else reading this post. This is the one i use for accurate mixing(if i have the time), it has the auto-off options: 60,120,180 and does up to 3000g. Very nice scale and small. 13.95 on Amazon

I've never had batteries in mine, have always used the cord, and there is no shutoff that way. I could leave it on all day long and it wouldn't shut off. I like it that way though.

Some of my flavor bottles take 3 drops to move the scale from 0.10g to 0.20g so for small batches I'm glad mine measures to 0.01g.

It might be...

Prime for me is being able to consistently replicate a fine mix. How that might be accomplished is the important thing for me. Whatever works...works!

Okay, I'm guessing you had time to do some mixing by weight. What do you think?

Yea I'm really digging them. No more cleaning syringes or working out different drip to ml equations through different size bottle nibs.
Obviously when following recipes that use mls you have to consider specific weights of different bases. Eg, PG or Alcohol etc, but that's straight forward.
Great investment in my opinion

Good thing to remember, if you want to measure anything above 500g you need to go with a (x.1g) if you don't need to go that high, stick with the (x.01g) And try not to think the route of getting a (x.001g) They are well above $200 a piece, and usually can only handle around *off the top of my head here don't quote me* 50g

If you can when you buy a scale, make sure it can calibrate, and get the appropriate calibration weight, it will keep the scale dead on and you never have to worry.
