IPV5 and Crown Ni200 .15 coils - low resistance

I cannot get my IPV5 to fire the Ni200 .15 coils. I put it on another mod and the coil is registered at .15/.16 but as soon as I use the IPV5 and try to set the resistance it is at .002 and will not let me adjust it.

I have had success with the SS coils but they do not fire very hard on SS304 mode so I usually end up using Ni mode and turn the temp down. Is there a manual TCR I can use with those? I have read about the the numbers but do not understand what to set it to for a .25 coil.

Help me out - I love both and want them to play nice together!

Are you re setting the resistance when you attach the atty? I run Crown ni200 on my IPV5 everyday.

Same here, make sure you have it set to Joules and press the up and down button at the same time to set the coil resistance.

I just made the same mistake the other day, had it set to wattage and got low resistance.

OK to respond, if I press both buttons I should be able to set the resistance - but all it does it sit at .002 and I cannot get it to change. Even the stainless I can change the resistance .25-.30 depending on temp but as soon as I enter this ode with the Ni200 it won't let me adjust it.

So my problem with the TCR mode - it is nothing near 600 it is like 0.00300 - do you mean set it to 0.00600?

Sorry about that. Try 0.00620
