Just to be clear, I don't hate any mods. I really believe any mod that you like, is a good mod for you. As long as it keeps you off cigarettes and you are happy with it, then it's a good mod. I was just having a little fun in here today so please don't anyone be offended. Heck, I was ripping my own mod lol.

Cheers,
Steve
Here here well said.

I guess it depends on whether your in a state that's trying to kill vaping before 8-18-18. I'm leaning towards stay the same if your not in one of those states (not sure about E-juice though - since I DIY I haven't given that a lot of thought). Most stuff is Chinese made so I don't see them stopping making stuff no matter what happens here. The problem as I see it is no one really knows so the smart money has been stocking up. I really think the wild card in all of this is what each State does (look at what PA just did).
https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/threads/pennsylvania-40-tax-game-over-for-vape.754165/
It is horrible what happened in PA and i hear there are bills in CA to raise the taxes as well. I think the FDA is a black cloud but what the individual states do is the real nail in the coffin unless we fight back. We need a lobby as strong as the NRA to push back what these big tobacco bought politicians are doing.

Maybe up the wattage or the temp to stop the gurgling.

Nope it's the dt. I have it too. Since day one. They actually advertised it as such when the Supreme first came out. I thought to myself "awe, that should be great"...I hate it in actuality.

Maybe, it is how you draw that will determine whether the turbine effect is as pronounced, but just take the dt off and draw..you will hear and feel the turbulence :)

Huh, i thought i just screwed up with my first wick on the Aromamizer Supreme and got the gurgling too. Are you all using the 4ml version?

Still a very well made tank, very impressed with the build quality. Going to redo the wick, did it just like the boreas the first time but gurgle be they name.

I'm using the 7ml Supremes. My drip-tips look like they funnel down towards the chimney (no corkscrew design in mine). I don't get any gurgling. I wick mine by folding the wick back down under the coils covering the deck (somewhat overlapping (I don't skimp on the cotton). It sort of forms like a circle. I make sure it's covering the deck but while leaving a space inder the coils so airflow can go through between the coils.

Cheers,
Steve

Edit I usually have my JFC about half way open and the top of the coils about even with the top of the posts

I was going to get a HOHM Slice, then read about all the issues and decided against it.
I have only had the issue with 1 of my hohm slice and the button which I recently remedied with a new button hohm sent. That said the hohm wrecker G2 is better made if you can deal with sig 150 style box mod form.

I am not going to go into it more in a dna200 thread though. As long as whatever works to keep people off the stinkies is really what's important.

This is a pretty open thread my friend. We talk about the VT133 but just about everything else having anything to do with vaping as well. Were all friends here, and just pretty much chat.

I threw Smok in there for Steve. Never heard of provape?

Edit.... I Google it...They make the ProVari. Peeps on ecf buy those by the hundreds.
Those peeps are the reason they in business,
I have a few, back when I started vaping they were the shit,. -i quit smokes because of a provari/kfun- for its time that was the creme de la creme. One of the most sought after combos for good reason.
Nowadays a lot has changed; but I'll stop there before this thread is derailed

I remember back in the ecf days a lot of heated discussion between the Buzz crowd and provari people. I'll still argue that the Buzz was first and best.

Thanks.

There is also the possibility of a used Lavabox with the 1300mAh upgrade I am looking into as well.

Thanks.

There is also the possibility of a used Lavabox with the 1300mAh upgrade I am looking into as well.
I have two Lavaboxes and can say first hand they are very nice mods. They are built well and look pretty nice too. I also have the 3s 1300mah extender kits and it adds an extra 45% to the run-time (it's a true 1300mah 3s Lipo). Does it also come with the original back and grip so you can switch back to the 900mah 3s lipo? You can probably guess which way I would go as long as it was a decent deal.

Cheers,
Steve

Good morning vaping peeps:coffee2:
Good morning. It's going to hot and sticky here today humidity in the 80's temperature ~90F :blech:. I hate when it's like this!

That's one of the main reasons I hang out in this thread most of the time. It seems like the people that are always here are mature adults who understand good natured ribbing. I know I get some from time to time and I always get a good laugh out of it. Most of us like to come in and chat about a variety of things. I think we've all been around the block enough to realize it's not like only (fill in the blank) is good and everything else sucks.

Cheers,
Steve

To anyone else thinking about the Limitless RDTA Plus I also recommend it. I already own one of each (2) in black & SS of the first editions but grabbed a Plus also when they came out. The first editions I bought extra glass and wide bore drip tips for them along with A1 tool steel grub screws. So by the time I paid for the extras the Plus seemed like a good deal even after adding a custom drip tip .I've already seen the Plus for as low as $25 and on average $20 is now a common price for v1. I like the Plus a little better for the larger build deck as I can add a extra wrap(vs v1) or two to the coils I use. I also like the top cap as it has a built in o-ring that really helps hold the friction drip tips I use a little better. The tips are from China and can vary a little in size so the built in o-ring makes for a perfect fit.The Plus actually includes a nice stock wide bore tip which many may be happy with but I prefer to play matchy matchy on about all my set-ups. I also like the two top post having the screws on top instead of the side like v1.This is also the same way the screws are set up on the Tornado Nano which is also in my top 5 list of RTA/RDTA out right now. The screws them self are phillip head and I'm okay with that as its easy to find nice aftermarket screwdrivers (cheap)that fit ,least easier then finding allen style screwdrivers with nice handles that sell for less then $10-$15. Just wish they would have used four of the Titanium screws instead of two. The bottom two I believe are only made of SS. Fasttech sells the replacement Titanium screws but they are little over $2 each and could take a month + to receive if anyone is looking to upgrade or just needs a few extra..The top cap itself on the Plus is now stainless instead of just delrin. It seems a little smoother adjusting the air flow vs the solid delrin cap on v1 I also checked the juice capacity and got every bit of 6ml+ even after pre-wetting my wicks before filling .On v1 i was able to get more in the range of 5ml vs the advertised 4ml which can also vary depending on size the wicks used. I noticed on the ijoy Facebook page someone posted a picture of one set up with the stainless cables for wicking .Looked really nice I just wonder how well they work .My biggest fear in buying the Plus was will it fit on my VT133 without overhang as v1 seemed to barely fit. The answer is yes and no. The extra 1mm (24vs25) only ads .5 mm to each side and that is just enough to catch your thumbnail if you run your thumb across it to see if it will catch. However I'm not one who is easily bothered by such things and still consider it to be a great fit. All in All I would recommend the Plus over v1 just for the extra glass and wide bore drip tip and option of adding your own 510 drip tip..However its not for everyone. Anyone who doesn't like or know how to build large coils could have trouble with this one .However the Plus(not found on v1) does include a silicone adapter to block off one side to use only a single coil.Personally I'll probably never use the single coil adapter but to each his own. Again may not be for everyone as you have to learn to do that "Genny lean" to keep your wicks wet. I recently found myself leaning my regular RTA(s) before relishing i'm doing that Genny lean thing..so it will become natural if used enough. The paisley/bandana design also may not be for everyone but to me I think it ads flair as I've always liked engraved watches .guns etc. As far as flavor both are great and one the reasons they have became so popular is for the flavor .These things produce flavor like a RDA and only a few months back that was a statement that was often made but seldom lived up to on all the RTA(s) during their big faze .Now it will be the war of the minis with all the small RTA(s) being released in next few weeks. As far as the war of the RDTA(s) if they ever was one I think the Plus will top them all or at least for now !

Thanks for such a thorough write up. I just received the v1 last week and think that it's a good RTA. The differences that you've noted in the Plus lead me to believe that those changes will make it great.

I think you are right by stating that this style of RTA may not be for everyone. As for the "Genny lean" I've been very impressed that I have not had to make any change to the way I hold my mod...the wicking on the V1 has been superb. With the Avocados however, I do have to make a concerted effort with the Limitless, none whatsoever!!!

The red bandana is calling me! I'm mostly picking up "uniquish" mods/atties as I have a strong base of solid devices, the Plus in red seems like it fits what I'm looking for!

Thanks again for the write up!!

Thanks for the kind words ! To me I've found I don't really have to do the lean unless I cut my wicks really short. I seen lot reviews talking about cutting the wicks really short and just leaning it. I've had better luck leaving them a little longer. I've heard a few people also claim "dry hits" but I've had no problems vaping at 85-95 watts on average .I used both spaced coils and coils smashed tight with same results .Most my builds are rather large duel claptons etc. and seen no problems with my wicking keeping up. I just use the Jap cotton pads . I tried cotton bacon v2 and felt it didn't wick as well but I'm rather new to it so I may went a little to heavy with it. I think its all in the wicking and wicking is just far to easy on this RDTA. The more I look at the Red version of the Plus the more I'm also considering making another purchase. If your looking for a drip tip for v1 try the wide bore resin drip tips that are made for the Goon or Kennedy they usually fit a little better then the Griffin which is barely to long and doesn't set completely flush or least mine did'nt.You can also use the griffin 510 adapter for v1 to use any 510.they are about $2 outta China but people are asking $6-10 in the states. They are also selling a new wide bore resin chuff cap (pictured)that has the air flow control that only works on v1 . These are being sold by fasttech and 3fvape but are also on ebay and a few other sites for 50-75% + over what they cost out of China(3-$4). However they are only being sold in China as random color orders where you may have the choice to pick your color. Half moon and Mink Machine and a few other drip tip makers are offering really nice drip tips also but they can range $15-$30. Is the V1 really any better then the Plus...many will argue its not enough to rush out and buy the Plus if you own a v1 however break the glass on your v1 and have to run down a new one and you may soon argue it's worth the extra few dollars just to have a spare. Not to mention I did burn my lip from spitback on v1 before adding a custom drip tip. Others claim Ijoy/Limitless must of pre-planned the release of the Plus right after the release of v1 and it was a scam. If it was it worked. Many people may not have bought the Plus with a $40 $50 price tag when it was first released without first hearing all the great reviews from v1 and/or owning a v1. Do I feel ripped off ...NO ..I enjoy both versions and hope to get years of use from them .I really think it would be a hard design to improve on ..but I could be wrong.

Folks on FT are reporting that the latest run V1 is coming with extra glass and a single coil reducer. The spares bag for V1 also is coming with the single coil reducer. I love the V1. I am attracted to the +, but as you say, some may find it redundant. I'm sure I'll pick a + up at some point. Probably around the 20 dollar or less price point.

Ok I have a few DNA mods that don't have presets for ni200 or SS wire etc etc . Will the mods that have the presets already installed get a better or more accurate Vape experience ? . Ready set go lol

They shouldn't. I download my CSV files from steam engine which is where I think Evolv gets theirs as well (A CSV is a CSV no matter who uploads it). As for the power and preheat, that's personal preference and depends on the coils you are using (Beefy Claptons require more power than a single 28ga coil would to get up to temp). Personally, I always setup a mod the way I like whether it comes with presets or not. Now if the mod resistance and case thermals are filled in, that's a plus (I'm not talking about the factory case thermals on the chip).

Maybe I'm missing something in your question. Which mods are we talking about that don't have the presets? When you install the latest firmware (2016-02-23) the material tab already has all the CSV files except SS430 iirc.

Cheers,
Steve

Well curiosity killed the cat . I gone to the evolve page and updated my mod . Now it won't turn on unless I keep the fire button down . Did a factory reset no luck . Did a hard reboot no luck . I wonder where I went wrong . I think I now know why the wife's went dead . Oh which reminds me we sent it in . They replace it and she is back up and running . Only cost was the shipping

I've found leaving the wicks longer is definitely better. I cut my wicks where the glass starts and I have had no wicking issues.

Exactly the way I wick mine. I got that info from MikeVapes, but I also think DLJSB speaks of the same method in his review

Here's the firmware I'm running in all my DNA200 (133) mods.
https://www.dimensionengineering.com/software/SetupES_2016-02-29.exe (52MB standalone installer)

I couldn't hurt to try and reinstall it. Which version were you trying to install? On a 200 or 75?

PS It says 2016-02-29 but after installing it it will be 2016-02-23. To check which firmware you are running it's in the bottom right hand corner on the Device monitor of Escribe.

@sandduner8 Are you sure it isn't just in stealth mode. To get back into normal mode: Lock the device with 5 clicks on the fire button. Then hold down the fire and - button until it says Normal mode.

Your welcome. I figured it probably wasn't in Stealth mode but I was hoping for an easy fix. Good luck and let me know if installing the firmware works (if you get a chance).

Hold the + and - buttons down until it says Temp locked, then press either the + or - button twice to get into the profile menu. Then either press + or - minus to scroll through the different profiles, each press will move you to the next profile (+ scrolls one way, - the opposite). Once you get to power mode click on the fire button to select that profile.

Just got one of those caps in the mail today. I got crapped on in the random color selection. Solid red except for below the o-rings. A speck of green can be found where nobody could ever see. AND, the bore on the cuff cap is smaller for those like myself that want to run a griffin adapter/tip. This is the biggest disappointment I've ever had from FT, so I consider myself lucky. But, I'll never use it.

Your welcome my friend! It should work with either button after temp locked - mine does, I just tried it.

Thanks man...it's the down button after temp lock, but it worked...:)

Wouldn't change using the up button...but it does on the other mods I think.

No problem..Should work with both!

My yellow one won't change using the UP button....which was driving me NUTS...hit the down button...no problem.
Does the up button work to increase temperature or power?. It's odd that it won't work to get you into the profile screens. I'm wondering it the switch could be dirty and not registering the two clicks. Stuff like that bugs me until I figure it out. You could try a q tip dipped in rubbing alcohol and swabbing around the button (not dripping wet - it's the easiest thing I can think of without getting to the board) and working the button a few times in an attempt to clean the contacts. I'll look around on the Evolv forum to see if there are any other reports of this behavior. I'll let you know if I find anything out.

Cheers,
Steve
