Smok Xcube2 short?

Hey guys, new here and apologize if I'm posting this in the wrong spot.

About three weeks ago I purchased a xcube 2 along with a tfv8 (cloud beast) and have had not had one complaint or a cigarette!

Untill I decided to change the coil. Before I go any further let me say all of the coils I went through were 100% authentic smok coils and were also 100% primed with Ripe Vapes VCT 3mg, full saturation clearly evident.

The first two coils I did both had the same results.. NASTY. Primed, soaked, few dry pulls and started out at 50w recognized 0.15 ohms on the screen. Strong chemical rubber burnt taste. At this point I was out of coils and figured going to the shop would be a good idea. The girl pulls out a fresh coil and primes it, we let it stand for 5 mins low watts and again it tasted NASTY.

I then tried a tfv4 with my fingers crossed. But same nasty taste and now the bottom metal contact point of the coil itself is black (burnt). It wasent untill I put a fresh coil on and screwed the tank into a spare mod at the shop that the bad taste went away. There has to be a short in the mod?could the mod really be causing that taste in the coil? 6 bad coils between 2 tanks? Doubt it.

Let's hear it!

dumb question, but did you clean the contacts on the xcube? if juice leaks in there it could cause connection problems. I don't see how the mod itself could do that unless its firing higher then it says. I have an xcube 2 I use with a TFV4 tank and do 70-80 watts on the 8 coil .15 ohm coil head. works great. Try redoing the firmware upgrade. I had issues with mine even though it said the upgrade passed. I wiped it out and upgraded again and it's worked great since

No such thing as a dumb question!

I made sure everything was clean and dry every time. I too thought about the mod sending more power then it was showing but for this burnt taste it would have to be alot. Dam coils rated for 260w! Mod only throws 180w and I usually run it 115w I'll look into the update.

Thanks!
