24g Builds not working! :(

Hey guys, I'm relatively new to rebuilding. I've been vaping for about a year and I got my first RDA about 2 months ago. Currently I'm rockin a Twisted Messes 2 clone on a Kangertech KBox 200 (vtc 5 18650's).

I'm having a terrible time building coils. I use the Coilmaster kit to build with. I generally do a dual coil (0.3-0.2 ohms) build and mount them in parallel (two leads through each of the centre post holes). When I seat the coils on the deck and check the resistance on the ohm meter it seems fine. Then I pop it on my mod to pulse the coils and I get an error. I also use a cuboid 200 and on this mod it says there's an atomizer Short. I'm assuming that's the same thing on the KBox but the led just blinks and the battery bar appears as empty.

I'm super frustrated with this. I seem to be able to build coils and seat them properly if I use 22 gauge kanthal. Which is fine I guess, but the ramp up time is a bit of a pain. I'd say I have built and mounted 40 coils unsuccessfuly with the 24 gauge kanthal. I just don't understand what the problem could be?! I've also tried different decks (velocity, baal v3, phenotype clones) and I get the same issue with the 24 gauge builds! What am I doing wrong?!?!?

I love vaping on an RDA but this is driving me nuts haha. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance :)

If your having problems just build a basic dual coil setup with one coil on each side.
Parallel should work fine but if somethings not right, a pic would help. Sounds like all your mods are telling you the same thing... you got a short in your build (battery bar going to zero and mod not firing, cuboid literally says short).
You can upload it to your post with the upload a file button next to the post reply button... pics are worth a thousand words ;)

If you can, post some pics of your failed builds. Pictures can say a thousand words... Also, test on the ohm meter with the cap on, maybe the coil is touching the cap.

edit: @fq06 you just beat me hitting the post button, great minds think alike... lol

Are you checking the ohms of the two coils separately? There will be problems if they are not identical...

A dual 0.2-0.3 coil would be 0.1-0.15 in parralel.. maybe thats the issue ?

A 3mm dual parralel 24g 8/9 wrap will give u around 0.2ohm :)
Have fun building.
