My favorite thing is when the fake Microsoft people call telling me there is a problem with my computer. I love fucking with those people. They get all pissed off when things aren't working and cuss you out in a heavy Indian or Middle Eastern accent. Gotta get my kicks somewhere. :teehee::teehee::teehee:

LOL. I'd been getting robo-calls telling me my auto warranty was about to expire. No biggie, just hang up, right? Well they started coming 3 or 4 times a day. During work hours, before work, after work. So I decided, what the hell, let me stick it out once since the "press 2 to be dropped from the list" obviously didn't work. Well... the robot asked "how many miles are on your vehicle?" And I responded with 2,883,492. The robot paused, then came back with, "we're sorry, but your vehicle is not eligible for an extended warranty, we will remove you from our list." Haven't gotten a call from them since.

Me, I have a HUGE (pun intended) problem with what I call the "Handifat Carts" that you see at WallyWorld and the larger grocery stores.

The original idea was and is most noble in my opinion.

To make shopping possible for your great Grandma and the infirm. The truly handicapped folks that need a bit of help getting around.

Now the truly "Obese " waddle to them and take them away from the folks that really need them.

They are really easy to spot from the contents of their carts.

Nothing of any real nutritional value to what they have. Mostly heavily processed foods, baked goods, candy and diet soda.

And never an honest vegetable or any kind of fruit.

I almost lost it yesterday when I went to my local Kroger (if you are not familiar, a big chain grocery store in my area) to pick up a butload of vegetables to roast in my oven for dinner.

As the Good Lord is my witness, there was a husband and wife team shopping.

Each drastically overweight and each piloting their own Handifat cart. and clogging up the soda or pop isle depending on where you live.

I only noticed as I was in the same isle getting some distilled water.

The wife was doing the shopping and putting crap in the basket on her cart while her husband was right beside her clogging up the isle in his own cart telling her what to get!

I wish I had a can of fresh tapeworms to slip into her basket.

I remember a few years back after some fairly major surgury, the Mrs. and I went to Sam's Club( same as COSTCO) and she suggested that I use one of the carts.

I refused to do so as not to be in the same class as these JERKS that are to freaking lazy to WALK!

Rant over now!

Well in my walmart, I almost lost it, several times. Not necessarily obese peeps but young people who I saw walking around several times, even running and skipping, taking the carts. My (almost) FIL has severe congestive heart failure and copd and the humidity takes its toll on him. He ends up slumped over a shopping cart cuz those little bastards and bitches taking them. I won't even use one when my knee acts up. There are older folks who need it much more than I. :headbang::gaah::cuss2::mad:

I totally understand where you are coming from................Duhh:D

All in all, it began as a great idea for folks that really need them.

On the rare occasions I see someone in one of those cart's that really need to be using them, I have noticed them trying to think of how to get something off of one of the shelves beyond their reach and I gladly spend the time to help them out

Sadly I have some issues myself and I see that someday I may need to use one of the cart's myself.

But it will be because of legit mobility issues and not because I weigh 400 lbs and only shopping for junk food and diet soda!

My mom tried to use one of the wally world carts and almost ran someone down. Yes, she had numerous strokes and could hardy walk. Her mentation was altered. I told her I would push her in a wheelchair. I know a lot of people don't know this but wally world will assist disabled folks shop. All you have to do is ask.

About bigger people. IDK maybe some of them have true disabilities that limit their range of motion.

I know I'm taking prednisone and imuran to survive (so I don't die) and I'm gaining weight. Am I overeating? No frinkin way. Will people judge me...yes. They will think like the masses and judge by observation. Do I really care? Fuck no.

I know exactly what you are saying about obese people. There are those out there that cannot help it. Thye may be taking certain medications or it may be a thyroid or some hormone issue. I have always said I would never judge an over weight person, mainly because my mom was overweight. I watched her go through so many diets and trying out those videos, tai bo and richard simmons come to mind. She was overweight her whole life. And had/ has perfect health, except for a natural heart defect from birth. She finally found something that works through watching what she eats, Weight Watchers, and exercise, walking. She is down to a size fourteen jeans and looks fabulous. She hasn't been this small since she was a girl. She is so excited. I'm so proud of her.

BTW, She was naturally a large woman. She never, ever just hogged out on sweets and sodas. She always ate right and there was nothing she could do to lose the weight. She always tried so hard. Some people carry weight differently and it can't be helped. They can maintain their weight but have so much trouble losing it. Most just give up and eat their way into an early grave. I feel so bad for them, because as a society, people are cruel and it sickens me.

Clippered for brevity's sake.

Yep, I am pretty fat. Once in a great while I will use a cart at the mall. I have a seriously bad back, I walk with a cane and I am 58 years old. If I need a mobility cart to do my shopping and you don't like it, you can bite my shiny metal ass.
I broke my foot awhile back and used the mobility carts a couple of times to do my grocery shop and when I go to the mall with my kids I will use a cart if I know we're going to be there all day. If you don't need a cart, what skin off your nose it it anyway?

Gee.... I wonder if the back issue is related to the obesity?
Partly, yes. Also my thyroid doesn't work.
I actually have lost about 50 lbs since I started vaping on the regular and am still working on it. I have new meds that help with the pain and make me more able to exercise.
Sorry, I didn't mean to start out on the wrong foot. Touched a nerve, I guess.

Yes, you came off a bit brash. So do I. ;)

Good luck with the weight loss. Been there and done that myself. Let myself get pretty fat not many years ago, and dropped 50 pounds.

For me, it was about calories consumed and calories burned. I did not have medical complications in my way.

And reasons like yours is exactly why I don't make fun of larger folks. You never know what issue they may be facing. Like I said, I don't use them but my future father in law does. My problem is kids use them because they want to play with them. They run around the store and when they are tired of that they grab the carts and run the batteries down. Then the folks who really need them can't because they are charging or they're out of order.

Did this once. Had surgery that kept me from walking long distances, so used one. On the outside, there appeared to be nothing wrong with me, so yeah, I got those looks from people. Had a friend with me who spoke LOUDLY when I got those, too LOL.

Keep on trying, I've dropped about 70 pounds, it took a long time and a lot of perseverance. I maxed out honestly at losing about 2-3 pounds a week.

The human body is made for periods of famine and basically tries to never lose weight. When you're losing weight your body is literally working against you, and the first ten pounds are just as hard as the last ten pounds (provided you're not in single digit body fat or anything crazy like that). Once it's off though it's easy to keep it off as long as you don't go crazy with what you eat.

It just takes a lot of time. You feel so much better though, it's totally worth it.
