I think we really need to think of our mods as disposable.
see right there
i finally get it
iknow I have bitched about being cheap
but its for the throw away mods
my koopor plus was trhow away at $30
m y d2 and 3li at $50 a piece are close to throw away price but im going on 18 months and expect them to last much longer
just got a ipv5 for $28 new i expect at least 2-3 years out of it
but my xohm i expect to last forever - withc maybe the occasional part replaced but that happening maybe every couploe years something needs replaced. It has quality parts and assembled well, and it is nothing fancy or complicated so less to go wrong.
my advice is if you plan on vaping for a long time (years versus months) Then find a good modder who build ssomethin g that you think you can repair in the future and uses something you think will be available in the future as a chip/ and if its not the enclosure has the flexibilty to put something else in. If you want TC get the evolve or fsk chips
if you want just pure power mode PWM or OKL chipsets good 510 good battery sled good button and a durable enclosure and expectto pay $100-200 depending on the chipset
While I am a huge fan of YIHI chips I would not recomend those becuase they seem to release a new one every 4 or 5 months and the form factor may not stay the same. So if you buy one today with the newest board that board may not be available 1 year -3 years from now when you need to replace it.
BUt who knows if the FSK or DNA boards will be. Course you could always buy one as a backup and keep it stored well
the future is so up in the air with FDA...even if these companies win the first round of lawsuits...the fda can come back with a new set of regulations
