Sorry to say but this is nothing new, if anything you're kinda late to the game if you just discovered this.
This has been the standard wicking technique for the Griffin since a week after it first came out (and pretty much the only way to wick the Griffin for it to work properly).
I suppose it's a good tutorial for those who are just getting the Griffin, but yeah, it's nothing new.

I did a written/pictures tut with the same method around the end of December/Early January....I thought it was the only real way to wick the Griffin...for any juice.

Never said it was brand new..said this is my favorite method of wicking the griffin. There are a *lot* of people just discovering the griffin, and even more people on youtube that have no idea how to wick it properly

With the air channels as big as I have them in the vid, it doesn't work super well with lower vg juices. But that can be adjusted. Like I said in the reply above. It's me passing on my favorite wicking technique, that I've been doing for quite a while. I have no doubt others did the same thing, etc. It would have been more new to the older griffin owners if I had posted around when you did, but this is a post for all the new griffin owners (which are still exploding at the moment) and the people on youtube. And shared to vu in case anyone can find some value in it.

Thanks for the video, it was done very well. I just got a ijoy tornado, and the deck and makeup looks very similar, I'll use the method you showed on it and see if I can get some better wicking going on. One question though, what is the reasoning behind not touching the wick or cool though?

Your finger oils etc can get on the cotton if you touch on it. When people say their build or wick has to "break in" really it's typically because their finger oils etc are affecting the flavor

I am going to give this a go- I have had the Griffin and similar tanks, and thought they was rather forgiving regarding wicking.

Until yesterday. I recoiled and rewicked my Griffin and Gemini, and they are not wicking very fast, resulting in partially dry hits. Quite annoying as it is the first time it has happened, I must of done something different without realising to normal :s.

If your mode had a smart mode and recoomends the wattage to use....minus it with 5 watts....try to lesser the cotton.
