I can't really say that it means anything or is conclusive of much but it's definitely interesting.

Speaking of other countries, anyone see the story about the Korean defense minister? Kim Jong-Un caught him sleeping during a military ceremony and wasn't having any of that shit. Executed him with an anti aircraft gun. And we're too 'mean' for using waterboarding on war prisoners lol. Nope, someone convicted of a felony is a felon. Someone in jail for a misdemeanor is not a felon. Inmate (or prisoner, convict, detainee) refers to all incarcerated individuals. If you're going into a "C Block" situation, where all individuals have been convicted of felonies, felon would be correct as they were "proven" in a court of law to have committed the felony. Whether or not they actually did is irrelevant and has no bearing on a wide open outside world where you judge someone "illegal" because of their appearance and language spoken.

I don't necessarily disagree with you in context. In context, you're only using it as verbal shorthand. And people are too thin-skinned nowadays and even when clearly not meant as an affront, it's taken as one.

However, what I said above still holds true. Referring to someone as an "illegal" is dehumanizing, referring to them as an illegal immigrant is not. The first implies that person is illegal, less than a person who is not "illegal". The second clearly defines that it was the act of their immigration as illegal, and makes no judgment about the person, just the act. There is a difference, and it's not really subtle. Not meaning it "that way" is an argument of semantics, intent, and context, at best.

There are plenty of non-hispanic illegal immigrants in this country as well. Some of them are fleeing their homelands, some of them are seeking a better life, and some may even be up to no good, just like legal immigrants. But the term "illegals" is used to apply, specifically, to Hispanic illegal immigrants, as the epithet "***" (without papers) was used specifically to apply to Italian illegal immigrants. Surely you can see how someone of Italian descent would find the latter offensive, right? Same thing with "illegals".

It seemed strange to me that somehow this term became offensive desribing people who do illegal acts . If they said hey "wetbacks" then i could see the point . But i would decribe a blonde hair blue eyed white canadian as a illegal if he snuck over the boarder . I know you are clearly stating the reasoning behind this but i think its over the top that people take it that far every nationality has insulting names for eachother from the begining of time .why is everyone so offended by every little thing? its insane in my opinion . They are not really offended. Those that don't want the word "illegal" used to describe illegal aliens, though they are in fact illegal and it is the proper word, are attempting to make it seem as though those who would deport them or otherwise make them accountable are singling out a certain class or race of people. It's simply a way to try and shame us into leaving them alone, to do as they please.

I know lots of illegals. Growing up in a farming community and for those that don't know, the horse racing industry is full of them. One on one, or even in a group, they'll have direct and open discussions and are not offended by saying they are illegal. They know they are illegal. They know they could be deported. They hold no ill will towards any of it.

Only in politics is the word "illegal" offensive for some. For those with an agenda to have them stay. The average illegal knows he's illegal and is fine being referred to as illegal.

Check out a non US news station, or watch the coverage of the UN talks about 6 months ago. We are quite literally on the brink of war with Russia. Saying that we need to deescalate that HUGE situation, is IMO a good thing.

Regarding the oil, he is referring to after we won the war in Iraq and that was to be for a short time. His current policy regarding the oil is to completely shut out the exports to stop funding ISIS. What's the issue there?

If you look at Trump, here is what he wants to do. Secure our country by securing our borders. Also, stopping what has become a huge escalation with Russia and China (with their land grabbing too). Increasing our economy by keeping companies in the US and that the people working those jobs are Americans! Getting rid of stupid things like Obama Care and all these failed policies of the current administration that are crippling our economy. Lastly, the school choice program so we can allow everyone the same opportunity at a quality education, which will not only decrease poverty rates, but also decrease crime.

In all fairness, it is a bit hard to follow Trump. Me being someone who has enough time and the will (I don't know what I did to be blessed with that "gift") to watch all of the speeches, read through transcripts, read through (partially) the emails (complete side note, have just 144 pages left of the FDA bullshit), and look at past votes (Johnson and Clinton) as well as past actions.

Unfortunately, it is quite difficult to understand Trump's views off one or two speeches. I think where we'll all see the true intentions of the 2 (possibly 3) candidates, will be the 3rd debate. That is, if Hillary doesn't cough right on through.
