I'm still on my quest to find out what's wrong with my setup, and I noticed one thing that might be helpful. When I don't use my vape for like hours and take my first hit, its really nice and how I'd want it to be, but everything after the flavor is extremely muted. If I leave the vape for a few hours again and then hit it, I get one more good hit, and everything after is bland. This can't be vapors tongue because it's only one hit, but what could be causing this? I'm using an ego aio with max VG juice.

sounds like the coil isn't wicking properly

It was literally a brand new coil straight out of the package and I primed it and pulled on it with the power off and everything. Could the juice be too thick?
possibly. what tank/mod are you using. what coil in the tank? whats the VG/PG mix of the juice? what wattage?

Im just using the ego aio starter kit, which comes with a .6 ohm coil, and the juice is max vg, it doesn't get much more specific than that.

since it's non adjustable for voltage, my best guess is the juice is too thick to wick as fast as you can vape. try getting a 50/50 juice and see if that helps

Just looked around online. a common problem with it. yeah your juice is probably too thick. good news is you can buy different coils for it with bigger juice holes for wicking. the .5ohm cubis coils seem to be what most people use for that

It does sound like your juice is too thick to wick those coil heads properly - what is happening is that, after leaving it for a few hours, the head has managed to nicely saturate itself, and the first vape you have on it is great. Then you take a vape a minute or two later, and it's rubbish because the juice hasn't been able to wick into the head properly.

You could thin your juice by adding a couple of drops of (preferably distilled) water to it, or even better, get some pure PG and add some of that - you shouldn't need very much just to get the juice moving better.

On some coil heads, you can make the wicking material (usually cotton, rarely silica these days) more porous by pricking it with a sharp needle, but I'm not sure how that would work on the mesh-covered wicking that the AIO heads appear to use.

Is there any reason why you've chosen to vape *max* VG juice?
