JOYTECH CUBOID BIGGEST PIECE OF CRAP EVER!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello fellow vapors, I really just wanted to sound off about my frustration with the Joytech Cuboid. I bought this hunk of crap probably 6mo as an upgrade to my Eleaf TC 40w mod; which by the way has worked flawlessly in the 2 years I ave had it. So the Cuboid worked great for about 2 days at which point I started getting these error messages "atomizer shorts." I looked it up on google and found that other people were having the same problem. The best solution so far appears to be cleaning the threads on the mod and any tank I use with it. This did work at first but a week ago I got the message again. Only problem is I cant get it to go away except maybe for a few moments before I get it again. Sometimes it works mostly it doesn't basically rendering the mod useless or at best unreliable. I tried to clean the threads on the mod and have now cleaned my Griffin RDA completely, even using a Dremmel with wire brush attachment to clean the threads on the RDA and the mod. They are spotless and I still get the same dam message. So until I replace I cant use my Horizon tank and all my builds will have to be basic enough that the Eleaf 40 watter can handle the ohms.So if anyone is thinking about buying this piece of crap, PLEASE DONT!!! In fact I would encourage everyone never to buy a Joytech product again. I know a lot of people will post how they love their evic's and what not but I tried to contact Joytech and they never got back to me. I'm just so pissed with this mod and by extension the Joytech brand.

Sounds like it's your 510. Joytech won't help because I believe they only have a 90 day warranty. If you can confirm it's your 510 and you do like the mod you could always have the 510 replaced. I know a lot of guys that did that with their Reuleaux's. I personally don't have the skill set to do that but I know there are guys that do.

Mine works with every tank I own, always has for six months now!
Take a small screwdriver and push the 510 in a couple of times, let the 510 pop up, a Q-Tip saturated with 93% alcohol.

I'm in no way defending Joytech but by the time the Cuboid came out it was a pretty well known fact that the 510 was shit. I have a Cuboid, Classic, RX, and a Reuleaux DNA. The 2 Reuleaux's I bought without knowing about the 510 problems. The others I knew what I was getting into. If any of those mods 510's should happen to crap out on me I would indeed replace them because I like the mods.

I agree it's total bullish.
It's time Joyetech face up to their own mistake and start making mods with good 510s for a change, instead of blaming their customers.

While that would be great. That's never going to happen as long as vapers keep buying their shit as is. I mean look at the RX. Everyone that is even slightly into vaping knew the 510 was shit yet it sold like hotcakes and not just in its original form but in several different forms. As long as they can sell mods like that they will. I will say this, after having quite a few cheap Chinese mods crap out on me I have been more prone to buy American even if the mods actually made in China. Companies like Evolv, Hohmtech and Vape Forward seem to do a much better job of backing up their products.

Hey thank you for responding and I'm glad yours is working good. It's a shame cause I like a lot about this mod but it is just too unreliable. So many times it was working ok at home then I get out of the house and that damm message would come up. And I have messed around with the 510 screw driver trick with mixed results.

Np, I hear ya bro. I can't do that shit either. From what I've seen the guys that do know how to charge anywhere from $40-$60. For that money you could just get a whole new Cuboid.

Thank you for your response. Next time I buy a mod I will def look for an American company. I suspect most of the products are made over seas but I know there is some American companies

I guess what the people on forums/reddit know and what the general public vapers know are different things.

It's not just the Cuboid, it's most of Joyetech/Wismec mods that have the same shitty 510.

I had a friend give me an evic and that thing convinced me that joytech is garbage. The false advertisement on the LiPo batteries and the fact that it just stopped working one day. Thanks but I'll stick with kangertech or another brand.

It's a great mod, definitely one of my favorites. It does have a few issues and I've experienced them all...

- A large majority of the mods will not go past 75w. There is a simple trick that you can find Youtube videos on.

- Every once and awhile the adjustments get locked up. It's only happened to me a handful of times and seems to be a common problem.

- The battery door magnets come loose. I actualy had one of my magnets fell off over the weekend but that was fixed with a little bit of super glue.

Despite those issues, its a great mod. It's got decent TC, little to no ramp up time and very efficient with battery life.

my egrip and evic have both performed well for quite awhile. egrip2 suffers from spitback, kanger cupti is better,at least in my opinion.

Thank you-I have just resurrected my fiancees cuboid by pressing down on the 510 a few times with a screwdriver firmly, before it had the short error with every atomiser!

I think she will be pleased once she gets home :).

I made the mistake of buying the cuboid but in my defense I watched several reviews and never saw anything about the 510 connector being so cheap. I had mine for a little over 3 days after the warranty ran out so no way for refund and I can't seem to find anyone that will replace the 510 connector for me. I contacted the manufacturer and was willing to pay for the repair but that company has the rudest customer service dept. ever. Now that I have problems with mine a simple google search found pages of complaints about the cuboid and the 510 connector pin. The company won't even acknowledge there is a problem but with the sheer volume of complaints I would think it would be a recall item but no such luck. Anyway, you mentioned in your post that you know someone that repairs this. Do you know where I can send my cuboid to have a quality 510 connector put in to replace this faulty one? I would normally just buy a new box since these are only like $45 bucks and I have bought another one (The Lasimo 200 watt) but I really love the cuboid, if the connector were fixed if would be my favorite mod box. So if you can point me to someone that will repair this it would be great. Thanks

If you get replacement 510, just about any small time technician/electrician with a soldering iron can fix it for you.

He's not cheap but he does awesome work. If the 510 on any of the mods I own go this is the guy that will do the work.
