Hotcig R150

So ... other than the menu being a nightmre to navigate because the manual is unreadable does anyone know what that the strange extra mode is. You have temp and power and then a mode I do not know ... WTF. It says nothing in the manual. I'm told it is Wolfram temperature output mode??? Why wopuld I use that? And how?

I got mine yesterday and haven't taken it out of power mode yet. The manual is incredibly bad.

I know that Wolfram is another name for tungsten, as some darts use this name instead of tungsten.

I have no idea if this is what it is talking about though, as tungsten coils are something I have not heard of before.

Not sure how the tungsten would work out ? It is normally a brittle material unless mixed with other materials I thought . I use 85% and 95% to tig weld with and it is as brittle as glass . Burns clean though , I just would like to see some coils made from it

Last I heard they were going to try and use tungsten in ceramic coils. I can't recall what company was trying it, though

I could be mistaken but I thought the Vaporesso cCell, IPV Pure X2, and that $100 tank that claimed to be COIL-LESS (Altus by Guo Vape) used tungsten however I NEVER trust my memory so don't quote me or hold me to this answer.

The Altus had a great idea but the price of the tank was the downfall , I know there was a lot of R&D in the development of it and if it had caught on it would have definitely made some improvements over a few different companies .....but that price .

Anyhow , how goes the R150 with everyone so far ? I am still fighting the fight on decisions for my next mod .

You are right that tungsten is a very brittle material, the highest content in my darts is 97% and even these are known to break, a normal tungsten content would be between 80-95%.

However, it could actually be for tungsten if these tanks such as the altus use a tungsten heating element? Also it would mean the device would be compatible with the IPV pure tanks?

Do not quote me on this though, this is only what seems to make sense as Wolfram is another name for tungsten.

EDIT: I found a fast tech review and someone else mentioned wolfram/tungsten wire and who would use this wire type, so it may well be for these types of tanks.

No US sellers for the r150 that I saw while researching today. I say pick it up from GearBest at their flash sale price.
I may be too late for this, but GearBest has it on sale for $65. CheapVaping says to use code HOTCIGR150 as a promo code But it's already marketd down. I'm going to get it regardless of the pretty Abalone panels. I found the beautifully carved silver filigree panels in the UK as well; $38.99 US a pair and it doesn't come with the front wrap. The only ones available are the leather, carbon fiber and another pair of black panels. But what about these beauties? Apparently they will eventually come out with them for some ridiculous price. I REALLY want the yellow ones and I really hope the front wrap come with them.

Picked up the black r150 from a eBay seller , but still no luck on the plates , I emailed a UK seller that has the carved version and various plate sets but they have not responded to me about any possible issues shipping to us and how much it would cost , I guess I will have to wait and see if anyone gets them . As far as the mod goes it is gorgeous and I am enjoying it immensely!

Sad new on the plates. They're so beautiful. And thanks for the good news on the mod! FYI, GearBest also has the Original SMY 75W Mini TC Box Mod in various colors for only $27.25. I'm getting a few of those also and wraps from jwraps for the silver ones.

I like that mod a lot. It reminds me of my duo with the Abalone. I just wish Hotcig used a DNA200 chip inside. I only vape in TC and it doesn't have a user adjustable TCR. Since I use a lot of SS430 and NiFe that's the only thing holding me back. I really like the way they used magnets to attach the different plates instead of the way my Duo does it (stuck on with adhesive). I may still get it while it's on sale. Who knows a DNA200 chip might fit in easy
