Recommendation for next RDA

I wanted to ask the forum if you had a few recommendations for my next couple RDAs. I currently use a mutation x v4s, and I really enjoy the velocity style deck. So the question is, if you know of any recommended RDAs with a velocity deck or similar build setup? Needing a few to start testing DIY juice on multiple setups. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

That's a good one and will be my next RDA. You should check out the twisted messes squared. It does not have a velocity style deck but it's just as simple and effective. I run it on the lowest air flow setting and get great vapor and flavor. Another good one is the tsunami. It's got a velocity deck and IMO perfect airflow.

Thank yo martnargh, Neunerball, and skt239. Will be looking at the baal v3, Petri v2, twisted messes squared, and tsunami to see prices. Really appreciate you three for making these recommendations.

I also use RDAs for testing my DIY eJuice. I mainly use Petri V2 clones, due to their excellent flavor production. The Petri RDAs aren't cloud chaser RDAs.

Tugboat V3 and Petri V2 are two of my favorites. I have a Tsunami and a Velocity but for flavor and the ability to customize (cloud caps available for both tug and petri) they are clear winners. Glacier RDA is very nice too and the Stro mini V2 rips. Then there is the Phenotyope (massive airflow - I keep mine 2/3 closed) the Hobo V3 (another atty I love) and the Magma. Honestly there are way too many good RDAs to list ...

Pricey, and no velocity deck, but simple to build on and uber quality, United Chaos. Definitely a flavor monster.

Some of these rda's look really nice (understatement) and I am probably going to branch out and try things other then velocity. I really liked the look of the build decks of both the Twisted Messes ² and of the United Chaos, so I may stick with the 4 post variation. Some of the others looked amazing as well, I just don't know about the two and three post designs. I was initially put off by the Petri v2 because of price, but reread the posts and saw you said clone, which makes it a more likely buy. Plus I can always buy the cloud cap. Thank you all for these recommendations. I have a lot of contemplating ahead of me.

Forgot to add... The twisted messes comes with two AFC rings, one in stainless and one black, for all your matchy matchy needs. One of the best parts has to be the small tool included for the hex screws...

Paul, how's the airflow on the Petri compare to the tsunami?

Completely different. The Petri is not a cloud chucker. It's tighter - the flavor off a Petri is amazing. Now with the cloud cap you can get more airflow but I've found I don't use it much. I like the flavor as is. Now today I'm vaping on my Fuel V2 - that is a great atty but not Velocity style.

That's exactly what I'm after. I really like the tsunami airflow but looking for something more restricted. Thanks for the reply.

This comment almost brought a tear to my eye from laughing. Seems the only thing I get right when it comes to matching colors is vaping related, clothes, forget about it.

Very happy you included this info, knowing the Petri is a tighter draw and throwing on a cloud cap increases airflow actually gives me two styles of testing.

I must have 50 RDA's, the Petri V2 is at the top of the list in the flavor department. Put on the cloud cap and it still has fantastic flavor with massive clouds. Just a fantastic all round RDA. I have five of them, all bottom fed for squonkers. They squonk perfectly too.

:) I have over 90 RDAs (started collecting RDAs, when I started building coils). Although my Petri V2 RDAs are clones, they are my preferred flavor RDAs. However, my overall favorite is the Castor RDA (30mm) by Fog Monsterz. It combines both, clouds and flavor (with the right build). Too bad, you can't get the original anymore.

Just did my search for the Petri v2 clones, and I can understand why you have 90 RDAs, Browsing through the clone site, I keep seeing ones I want. I enter the site thinking I may get two. I truly wonder if I could finish my order without getting 8... I have to be careful. Castor RDA by Fog Monsterz, another name for the list.

As mentioned, you can't get the original anymore. I bought mine ca. 2 years ago ($75), and I haven't seen any original since. However, I did see a clone, which might be as good as the original. I did buy the clone, but haven't put a build in it yet. It looks just like the original though.

Paul how would you describe velocity style atty? i have found everything I want in Kennedy so I am stuck on it, but I suffer from lack of knowledge about different attys because of it. Never had velocity v1 or v2 but Fuel v2 seems very similar concept just more air I would guess. I know that you "small" collection means knowledge so I am trying educate myself by asking a friend with experience .

If we are talking 2 post deck then I recommend the Kennedy 25 all day long. But a close contender for less than half the cost is the Vaperz Cloud Prophet RDA. The build deck is simplicity, and has both flavour and vapour in abundance. Build quality is as expected from Vaperz Cloud and its price point makes it almost bargain

Do you have problems with your AFC? Mine is really wonky.

I'd say the original Velocity, Goon, Kennedy 25, and Petri (but might want to wait for the 24mm).

I really don't care if the deck has two three or four posts. Velocity is okay. When it first came out there was not a lot of competition. So it and the Kennedy were at the top. These days there are a ton of decent attys. Velocity style decks you have the Hobo V3, Phenotype L, the Magma, the Stro Mini the new Tugboat and more. But my favorite attys are not velocity style as it happens. Although I do love many of my velocity style attys, I think a number of the three posts have better flavor. And I'm not a big fan of the Kennedy anymore (hence the trade I made with you). BTW, I completely cleaned up the fuel V2. I used it all day today and I love it. You can really fine tune the airflow and its solid as a rock. Great chuff cap too. If I was going to recommend an atty today that is velocity it would be the Baal V3.

Now i have a lot of attys. The only one that is not authentic is my Velocity as it happens. I don't have ninety but I do have around thirty. It is often a trade off between size of post holes, ease of build, flavor and clouds. There is no single attyb that is perfect. But I think the Petris and the the Tugs come close (prefer the Tug V1.5 as it happens).

If you like Velocity style decks, I would look into the Buddha V3 or Temple. They both come in either 30mm or 25mm diameters and are great rdas. I'll admit to being a fanboy of all Vaperz Cloud products, but they are quality made, that's for sure.

I actually don't have any velocity decks, besides my Limitless Plus RDTA, but I do enjoy building on them. Currently, I mostly use the Limitless, Mini Fat Buddha (4 post), Goon (clamp) and X1 (also 4 post). They are all wonderful rdas.

I have actually picked out a few that I am going to be ordering. Though they are all clones, it does help get a couple extra for testing purposes. Going with a Petri v2, Baal v3, and a Plume Veil v3. Contemplating a CAX1 clone for massive bottom airflow, and I think the deck looks cool. Maybe adding a Kennedy or Limitless to the picture. Yes this is going way off from the starting velocity deck, but everyone has opened my eyes to the fun of building on other things. Only reason I didn't include a Goon was the clamps... I don't know about those things.

Personally, I would stay away from the Plume Veil, too much leaking issues. In addition, I'd rather get the Tsunami, than the Kennedy. The Tsunami has the ability to adjust the air flow, where as the Kennedy doesn't.

Regarding the posts, the Velocity style of posts is the easiest. However, the four post design is simple too (where you have two negative posts, and the positive post is in a "T" shape).

Thank you for the warning on the Plume Veil. I think I have switched my choices probably 10 times on the last two I was going to get. May just play around with my Petri and Baal when they come and figure the rest out later. I did not know the Kennedy is missing airflow control, if I knew that I would have gone with the Tsunami over it.

Vaper Update: So I received my Petri v2 and Baal v3 clones, and I am pretty impressed. The Baal is definitely a cloud chucker, but the Petri, oh my god is the flavor amazing. I am surprised that the clone is putting out so much flavor. Very happy with that purchase. All I am waiting for now is my Tokugawa to come, and will be trying out some single coil builds on that. I am thinking of maybe going with a Mad Hatter v1 for my next rda, will have to search the internet or forums to see if those are floating around. Thanks again everyone, all your opinions have given me good insight on what to look for and what to avoid. Much luck to you all on the search for the perfect vape.

Have to agree, have about 50 RDA's, I always go back to the Petri V2 with the cloud cap. Damn GOOD flavor.
