Need a new tank. TFV4 leaking

Had it with this thing. I have rebuilt it several times and watched all the videos, replaced all the seals. Watched all the videos. Nothing works.

I use a RX200 mod. I'm using the TFV4 with a RBA deck single coil. I bought a TFV8 as well till I realized these are direct lung devices. Anyhow. I've watched all the videos on the TFV4 leaking fixes, none of which work. I went back to smoking 2 years ago because of the leaking issues and I guess things have not improved much since then.

I do not do direct lung, but MTL hits.
Recommend me a new RBA that does MTL, that is black, 22/23mm that will look good on my RX200, that is not a Kangar or a kayfun.
Thanks in advance

well all the smok tanks (and anything sub ohm) are going to be DTL tanks. Personally i haven't experienced any leaking on the TFV4 tanks, but clearly thats not what you are looking for. You are going to need something with restricted air flow and over 1 ohm. If you are using an rebuildable do you want a tank or just a dripper? If you are making your own coils, then any tank as long as it's not too airy, will be fine. It's all in your build. You'll probably want 32g kenthal with 6 spaced wraps around a 1.5mm That'll be about 1.8 ohms. which you'll hit at about 6 watts. The RX200 is way overkill for that. You might want something like an eleaf icare mini. For 20 bucks it's all in one device. just juice it and go.

I have an Eleaf Istick already. Just wanted something better. This thing works with the single coil build in it, it just leaks. I'm running this @ 20W
I never understood dripping. Seems like a pain in the ass if you ask me. I've had the Kangar tanks too, every tank I've had with bottom air holes has leaked. This is why I stopped vaping 2 years ago. The stuff just doesn't improve it seems. I can't deal with leaky shit. Drives me nuts.

If every tank you had leaks, it's probably more of an issue with your wicking then the tank itself. drippers are a hassle, i just wasn't sure what you wanted. Look for a prebuilt tank with prebuilt coils, hopefully someone here can make a good recommendation, I really don't know what would be a good tank for MTL vaping

Well I tend to think the design is just shit. Just do a search on TFV4 leaking. It's a problem tank. I'm not the only one.

I have the tank, thats more then enoughfor me to know. Also on here we get a lot of threads asking for help obviously. I've seen 1 thread about the TFV4 leaking and OP found out he had installed an oring upside down when he cleaned it, after fixing that, he had no leaks. People tend to not realize how important wicking is, especially in RTA's. Too tight and it won't wick and you'll get dry hits, too loose and it'll leak. All the leaking issues i could find relate to the RBA coil deck only, which could be explained again, by the wicking. I've used the RBA coil head and have had no leaking

Well I've built the thing exactly as I've seen in videos. What I do find is that I think it leaks more when I have the air hole almost closed.

built or wicked? The coils can be perfect, but if the cotton is too little it can leak. Also if you aren't hitting it with enough watts the coils can flood. You'll know this if you get gurgling noises. If it's leaking through the air holes that means liquid is dripping through the coils past the cotton and on top of the positive connector pin of the coil

So basically if there isn't enough cotton in the juice channels, the liquid itself can get into the air holes the opposite way and drip down the airflow and come out of the air holes on the base of the tank. Also when you refill, if you get any down the center it'll likely drip out the airflow holes as well.

Does it leak with the premade coils? I know you don't want to use them becuase you want MTL but give it a try, If it doesn't leak then it's the wicking. If it leaks with the prebuilt coils, you might have a loose oring or something. Also it's important to make sure you keep the top shut tightly to keep the vacuum in the tank, if it loses vacuum while full it can leak possibly

Also keep in mind that you need close the airflow holes b4 filling and usually best to leave it a min or two before restarting. ;p

Sometimes pulling harder than the coil can keep up with will cause flooding.. That said I also have issues with leaking tanks.

I like the FODI V2 for MTL easy to build on, I wick it on the tight side and get zero leaks. Other suggestions for ya would be Avocado, or the Limitless. If you run it with a tight drip tip wick it slightly snug .. you won't have any probs with leaking or dry hits. I build those with coil diameters close to wick hole size and close down the airflow tight with a narrow drip tip.. works great and is very good re flavor.

get a FODI tho.. think you will like that one. The F2 has even tighter airflow than the V2 fyi.

From what I've been seeing, the cotton is supposed to be on the top of the deck, resting above the top of the juice channels, the flat part, but not down in the juice channels at all. I probably am not using enough cotton from what you are saying.

I didn't have the premade ones in long enough to tell. I will give them another try when it's getting low. From what I remember when I did have them in, it was not leaking.

Been pushing these hard on people. Have owned everything Smok has made except new mods. Have owned alot of other tanks also. But Smok Baby Beast get you rba (rba kinda hard it find). The price right perfect size you can go big or small on them. Rba one the best and easier have used. Had for over two weeks no leakage can leave air flow open put tank on its side leave for a day. Not a drop its all about the build iam not a world class builder only use the cheaw Japanese cotton.
