Well I know why it's called a dumptank. It dumps juice out as fast as you can put it in! Using 2 3mm claptons, even put in 2 spacers under the silicon on the filler, rewicked it more than twice and still pours juice out of the AFC.

My problem with all these tanks that vape high ... running at 120 - 140 watts (4.2 volts into .13 ohms on Claptons) with the airflow less than halfway open these tanks could EASILY support a 200w build but at what cost? Now my problem is battery life - learning that the 50w per cell rule is every bit as real as I knew it was. Killing dual cell pairs in record time, batteries unable to keep up with current demand before they're 50% discharged. 130+ watts on 2 cells is just not ideal any way you cut it. This means I'm saddled with a triple battery mod to use the Modfather or the Scottua or the Boreas or the large VCMT. This is apart from the ejuice consumption which is easily solved by DIY.

I can use the modfather on (3) cells and Vaping at 85 watts (2) tanks..... (1) to (1.5) hours all cells dead..... And LG hg2 3000mah.....

But Vaping @ 74 watts every 30 minutes.... 3 or 4 drags (8) hours +

Had mine a week and it never leaks. I just hate the bloody size. Send yours back. It should not leak.

i just got mine and ive rewicked 6 times, and its leaking every single time. i am jam packing the cotton thru the holes... is it because there is an air leak at the top ?? thats not giving it a good seal ???

What a POS! Leaks faster than you can vape a tank of juice. Put in spacers (up to 3) can barely close it, it is so tight. Rewicked 6 times, recoiled 4 times, even emailed cust service at vapergate. No response. What a waste of money!

For everyone having leaking problems it would be a good idea to take the tank apart and juice up your orings top and bottom. You are losing pressure somewhere in the tank and the top oring would be my guess. Good idea to also lift up the rubber gasket and plastic spacer and juice up that area as well.
When tanks leak it is a loss of pressure and usually it is because of an oring.

Well finally got it to stop leaking. Put the flat side down on the silicon fill gasket and after I fill the tank, turn it about 1/4 turn so the fill hole don't line up with the fill hole on the tank.

Good idea, did you keep the spacers under the gasket or remove those?

I am going to try that out. The tank was working great for a few days then it did leak, another spacer and it was fine but then about a week later another leak. I think for sure the top eventually gets loose so your solution sounds like the only thing that will work. I am going to email vaporgate and complain about this, too expensive of a tank to have to deal with this shit. They should redesign the top cap and make it a screw on and send us all out a replacement for free. I really love using the tank, it vapes great but if every week or so I spring a leak then that's bullshit.

Meh, I "may" get the 40mm Dumptank and only "if" I get the HOG V3. Looks like this tank is finicky with wicking, fucking hate the VCMT for that reason. Both the 25mm and 30mm either leak like a sieve or burned hits from hell.

Definitely a design flaw. So far that has stopped mine from leaking. Would like to try the 40mm but $75 is pretty high. They should give me one since I told them how to stop the 30mm from leaking. HaHa fat chance of that happening

I don't think it is really a wicking issue rather than the Smok style fill port, this is what is causing leaking problems. If they would have just done a normal screw on top the tank would be near perfect.

Yeah, that has stopped my leaking so far too, thanks for the tip.

Did you have a talk with vapergate and what did they have to say?

Yeah I was e-mailing with Tyler. He was offering to do an exchange before I figured out how to stop the leaking. When I told him what I had done he thought that was interesting and they hadn't thought of that.

Well the trick of flipping the rubber gasket worked for 2 tanks but this morning about 8ml of juice came out. Luckily I have been putting the tank into a Pyrex to protect my mod and counter but yeah, bad design.

It has to be that the top just becomes loose over time, maybe the press fit pin on the swivel it the weak spot. Not really sure but at this point I am done fucking with it. Too bad too, it vapes great, a tank I really enjoy using.

Vapergate should really have new rubber gaskets made up with just a plug, remove it, fill with juice and plug the fill port back up. Send them out to all the customers free of charge. At this point I will not buy anything more from vapergate unless they make this right, it's a damn $60 tank.

I am going to post this in the other Dumptank threads to warn people of the problem, mine was working well for awhile but now something must have come loose.

Did u put a spacer under it and move the silicon gasket so the holes don't line up?

Yep, exactly like that.

It worked fine then last night I filled it up again and vaped on it for awhile. I vaped about 1 mil then took it off my mod and into a bowl. I checked 30 minutes later before going to sleep and no leaks. The next morning though I had the worst leak ever.

Yeah that sucks. So far I have no leaks. $60 is alot of money for a tank that leaks. They definitely need to do something about it.

just found out that the culprit is the rubber gasket on top. if you turn it so the notch is away from from the topoff hole, it creates a better seal. and i use 2 plastic gasket for tighter vacuum. no leaks so far. We'll see the rest of the week..

Yep that's the problem. Did that to mine 2 weeks ago and not leaked since.
