2 battery mods should be used with a pair of married batteries.
No battery mixing, especially not of batteries of different kinds.

If you want to switch batteries make sure you have 2 pairs and keep one pair in the mod and the other pair in an external charger.

One shouldn't be discharging significantly faster than the other. As a general rule they should be charged at the same time and as close to identical as possible. A good idea is to swap the positions in the mod each time they are charged and re-inserted so that any imbalance occurs with the same frequency for each cell. Don't know how long they have been paired but it may be time for a new pair.

This is my first device using more than 1 battery so don't know if one is discharging faster than the other, but i currently only have 3 batteries so i should buy another pair? Or buy a single battery that matches the specs of my spare?

buy a pair of new batteries that are identical
I'd say either LG HG2 or Samsung 30Q
liionwholesale.com and illumn.com are great sites

2 new pairs would be ideal so 1 can charge while the other is in use. IDK how you could sell your old ones though. and make sure to keep them paired up even if you buy 4.

Keep your spare batteries, especially if you have another mod that is single battery. Even then, it doesn't hurt to keep them on hand in case you decide to buy a single battery mod. You always want to have backups in case your device fails.

If it was just theoretical and one isn't actually discharging faster then just keep them and perhaps buy a new pair to use when these are in the charger. The only way to tell is check them with a voltmeter or some chargers indicate the voltage when a battery is inserted. They may not be identical but should at least be pretty close to each other when taken out for a charge. If they both finish charging pretty close to one another they are probably fine. Assuming they were bought together and have been used that way since new.

I'll buy a new set for any new mod and marry them. I also use an external charger. Those married sets can then be rotated through different mods which require the same count (a two or three battery box). Makes it a lot easier than tracking which set belongs to which mod, unless you always charge and leave the battery set in the same mod.
