Dual coils. Single Core 28g/36g Clapton. 3mm inner diameter. 8 wraps to get to 0.5Ω.

Sound about right?

WTH am I doing wrong? I have no problem with 26 or 28g simple coils.

The SS316L 28/36 Clapton wire at 8 wraps, dual coil, was 1.9Ω.

Something might be wrong with your mod or one of the coils is not fastened. U sure those are SS claptons? Steam engine says 1.9ohms 8 wrap 3mm 28/36 kanthal for single coil

Your meter is reading the wrap..... not the core.

Tighten connections......

To properly meter a Clapton you touch ONLY the core wires.

That's how it was done in the old days.
When claptons were called, self wicking coils.

But you might just need to tighten the post screws.

Yeah, that was going to be my next mention. I'm using the Delirium BF and the posts suck hard. The posts' threads bottom out about 0.5mm shy of the post holes' back walls. So, say 28g will never be gripped by the grub screws, which is why I went with the Clapton in the first place, since it's about 0.56mm. It's the throwaway atty for the Therion Squonker, but I'm still waiting for my Tsunami to get here, so I just wanted to test and it's the only bottom feeder I have.

try 2x28ss. should be thicker.
then add 3 or 4 wraps per coil.
should also vape better... fused claptons over regular claptons any day.

Yeah, make my own coils, but not my own wire. At least I know it's not my coil making, but rather the posts, that are iffy. Same wire/dual coils spot on at 0.51Ω in my DotCom.

thats why im saying if you added a 2nd wire to the core maybe itll help your post screw clamp down better on it.
do you only have 1 atomizer?

Understood, but I can't and don't make my own wire.

This is the only BF I have right now. I have 2 Tsunamis on the way, though. Once I have something better than the Delirium, it'll go into the unloved reserves drawer.

oh i get ya. the claptons were premade?
when the tsunamis arrive you should have a better time with it.
i recommend learning to build your own, its not hard.

The wire was premade, yes, the coils I did.

Believe it or not, I actually prefer simple, stright wire, non-spaced coils. I'd never done Clapton before so thought I'd try. I compared on the Boreas, two tanks, same juice, same 0.5Ω, one dual Clapton, one dual simple coils and I actually prefer the dual simple coils.

yeah i dont like claptons too much but fused claptons are worlds apart from regular claptons for me.
before i learned to clapton i paralleled everything.
as for spaced... i dislike spaced wraps. ive never been able to get them to wick properly and everytime i try they suck ass until i just decided to give up on them.

Yeah to get a good contact with them on old wrap on screw type atty you need to remove the wrap from the legs. So you can get a bite on the core. The wire through hole and a grub screw connection doesn't require this step

Instead of FC , coil that wire as a dual parallel.
