Hi,

I tried one drop in 10ml of tfa sweetener in my unicorn milk clone and didn't notice much and was just wondering what everyone is using.

TFA sweetener is Sucralose.
If 1 drop in 10ml (0.5%) is not sweet enough for you, try 2 drops.

I'm using 0.5% Stevia + 0.5% EM

I recently started using Erythritol (5% Solution), 'cause it can withstand heat better than Sucralose. I rarely use Ethyl Maltol (EM), 'cause it can mute flavors.

Where did you buy erythritol?

My favorite sweetener is the strongest and purest around and is Not for everyone!

What I do is turn on my computer and come to this Forum. I then cue up a post made by Teresa P, Huckleberried or Daintanee. Then...Briefly... I hold my freshly mixed juice in front of that post shown on my computer screen.

Caution must be made to not hold it there too long. If too much time occurs, the juice will become far too sweet and certainly be a coil clogger.

Stevia is my usual go to but for fruit flavors I really like One on One flavors sweetener. They won't say the ingredients but say it is not stevia or sucralose, actually smells little like lemonade. It really does make fruit flavors pop though, I really like it.

TFA Sweetener is the only kind I'll use. I tried ECX's "house brand" of sucralose, and it was godawful, so artificial it was almost like saccharine.

One thing i've noticed though; my own tastebuds have taken a very long time to start waking up, after 39 yrs of smoking; when I first started DIY, I was using 2.5% sweetener in most everything I mixed. Now, if I use more than about .7%, I can't tolerate it -- but it's taken me 2 yrs to get to this point. I anticipate that eventually I may not need to add additional sweetener at all... or maybe just that 1 drop per 10ml! But if you're new to not smoking and you smoked for a long time, you may need a lot of flavoring and sweetener; everyone's different, in how long it takes for their tastebuds to recover.

I can not stand to use artificial sweeteners in stuff I drink. So in my juice i usually only use Agave Nector. Been cutting it 9 to 1 since I first heard about it in 2011 seems to add just the right amount of sweetness to my DIY without the artificial after taste.

Okay that is interesting. My tastebuds seem to be muted again due to the prevelance of fruit and creams in my mixes, could you suggest something different or something that is not just straight nic to reset them over a few days?

All tfa:
Menthol liquid
Koolada
Strawberry
Dragonfruit
Cappuchino
Black honey
Sweet cream
Dx bavarian cream
Blueberry double
Vanilla bean ice cream
French vanilla
Sweetener

HiLIQ:
Coffee
Vanilla custard (did notice this one when used in place of vanilla bean icecream for unicorn milk clone)

Well for 3 years I never used sucralose. Tried em not much luck yesterday i tried about a 3% tfa sweetner in a mix and had a pounding headache after 4 or 5ml of juice so think im gonna tone it back to a drop here n there. I will say the juice was licking lips good n sweet. I like sweetner lol. See a few on here have played with diffrent blends and what not will be watching for the results. Very interesting. The sweetner did let me vape on stuff i usually dont so now i can go use some of my bland juices with it.Good lyck i love the stuff will be buying sucralose powder next or something close to it.

The TFA Sweetener is really the best choice, you just used too much -- even when I first started and my tastebuds were the next thing to dead, I never used more than 2.5%, and very soon got to the point that anything over 2% was too much. I stayed at that level for over a year, but in the past 6 months I've gone from 2% to .6%; I guess my buds are finally waking up!

I use NuNaturals Clear NuStevia liquid. Been using it for a year and a half. Not bad on coils and good.
Artificial sweeteners taste horrible to me.

for pretty sweet I use 5 drops in a 120 ml bottle.

Got a link for that? I might give it a try, I've heard so many good things about Stevia. I had thought for a long time that it might have some odd taste, but if a super-taster can stand it, it's probably pretty good! :)

I tried the tfa dx bavarian cream and found out it takes 2% tfa sweetener to make it sweet enough for me. Especially when the flavors are at low percentages. I'm having to learn to lower my percentages starting out, but man its a fun process. Some recipes I look up and try do require 1% of the sweetener for me. Even if they have say 1% of marshmallow or something sweet.

I need to try that stevia above. :)

Sweetener that dose not taste like sweet n low. Put sweetener in everything if it dont taste right hit it with sweetener. Thats why we call it crack.

I was just like that, at first -- in fact, I used 2.5% sweetener, when I first started making the strawberry & cream, despite how sweet the shisha strawberry is! But that does change, pretty drastically, the longer you've been without smoking. I figured I'd be using at least 2% sweetener in everything, indefinitely... but now when I mix the strawberry & cream, that last mix a few days ago used .6% sweetener.

It's hard to imagine something like your sense of taste changing so drastically -- I've ALWAYS had a massive sweet tooth, my whole life -- but once your tastebuds start recovering from years/decades of smoke, it does happen. It just took mine a bit longer than it seems to take for other people.

I have a feeling that I just really love sweet vapes too. I'm having to adjust some of my recipes to make them sweeter, in time mine will probably adjust but I've been vaping since 2012. This dx bav cream you mentioned is so useful. I've got some vanilla swirl in my cart for the next order. Is vanilla swirl sweet inyo?

Also plan to try some of the inw flavirs from wiz labs and adjust the sweetener. But yeah this tfa sweetener hits the spot for me. ;) thanks for the suggestions, they have helped so much.

Yeah I think Vanilla Swirl is the sweetest of TFA's vanillas; a bit sweeter than the DX Bavarian. I suspect that as I continue to adjust the flavoring percentage downward in my strawberry & cream mix, those 2 will be lowered before the strawberry is, just because of that sweetness.

Oh ok, can't wait to try it out. I'll try ut without sweetener first and adjust from there. Also found that tfa cherry extract you mentioned and have an 8ml sample in my cart. ;)

I'm reallyReallyREALLY picky about cherry flavor, because of all the icky medicines inflicted on me as a child, most cherry-flavored. The INW "Cherries" is like that, medicine or cough drops; the LorAnn is perfectly maraschino, which is fine if that's the flavor you want... but for an actual cherry flavor that doesn't taste like medicine, i think the TFA Cherry Extract is by far the best.

@Heabob or anyone who might have an idea..... Just looking for a rough % equivalent of the Now Glycerite Stevia to regular 10% Sucralose sweetener to get an idea how to best sub in recipes. Never used any sweetener until this Stevia. (Not surprising, I am a noob only a couple months into DIY.)

I saw it on the grocery store shelf Saturday so had to buy some. Added 4 drops to ~5ML of an RY4 I have been working on and it definitely brightened it up quite well. May have been the missing ingredient!

I recently started using Erythritol (5% Solution), 'cause it can withstand heat better than Sucralose. I rarely use Ethyl Maltol (EM), 'cause it can mute flavors.

That's on my list for the next time I order make me plum from NN. I got monk fruit and love it, adds zero taste to the mix, just sweetness it up.

Go with dragon fruit and a bit of fruit with it.

Agree, I vape a dragon fruit yogurt when I've been on a custard kick for too many days and that seems to snap my taste buds right out of the haze.

I think it's at least as sweet as Sweetener and maybe even more so.
Hard to judge cause of the VG base it's mixed in which is also sweet.
I've got a 50% dilution cut with PG to thin it out some for easier mixing/measuring.
And my normal amount is usually 1-3 drops in 15ml.
But everyone has to find the amount that works best for them.
Some flavors, or mixes, don't need as much, and some may need more.
If you use too much you'll taste some earthiness, or something.
Experimentation is key.

I'll throw another vote in for erythritol 5% solution. Low percent ~1% adds just enough sweetness, and as Neunerball said, it's far less likely to gum up your coils.

Has anyone tried VitaFiber? I bought a bottle of it online and have never looked back! I was completely obsessed with sugar and it was really overpowering me but since I have bought VitaFiber i have almost completely cut out sugar! Defiantly worth a look if anyone else has the same problem as me!

We don't use sugar in ejuice, it would make a black stinking mess of the coil.
